Dad appears to be very happy and settled. He likes his food and I feel that the staff are very attentive and see to his needs. He is generally clean and that is all we are looking for. He tends to stay in his room and this is always looked after.

I think that overall, everything is ok. However, I have noticed when visiting mum at lunchtime, a vegetarian option never seems to be available.
The rooms are quite small and there are no chairs for visitors.

We have plenty of chairs available for visitors in the main lounge and dining rooms on each floor, we would be happy to take a chair in for relatives to use when visiting, please feel free to ask a member of staff on your arrival to the home. We add one chair to resident’s rooms to ensure that space is maximised, however, we are able to arrange for an additional chair to be added to the bedroom at the resident's request. We have a good choice of vegetarian options available for residents and we would be happy to discuss this with you and your mother and invite you to make an appointment with the home manager to look at the options available and to plan a better choice for her. We find the staff very pleasant and friendly. They are very helpful when asked for help. The cleaning staff keep her room in excellent condition. Any problems and you first have to ask. The kitchen staff do a really good job. The food is varied and you have plenty to choose from. She gets really well
fed. Mam is quite happy here. I have no concerns, if I had any, I just go to management and it is sorted.

Mam is now into her third year at Ashbourne Lodge and staff have sensitively modified the nature and degree of care needed as her independence have increased. Care from all staff has been good with, in a smaller number of cases an outstanding level of commitment. Liaison and involvement of other agents
(district nurses, GP etc) has been prompt and effective.
The atmosphere around Ashbourne Lodge is always friendly and positive.
I am always made to feel welcome. It feels like a community with a very positive ethos.

The staff and management are excellent. My mother is very well cared for and importantly is safe and secure. The staff are lovely and very caring. They keep everyone's spirits up. My mother is very lucky to live at Ashbourne Lodge.

We chose Ashbourne Lodge due to its position next to the park and the reception we received when asking to look around. The friendly nature of the staff and willingness to accommodate requests impressed us from the start and continued to do so. My father isn't the most cooperative at times due to his
condition and all the staff have tried their best to make him comfortable, always showing a pleasant and cheerful manner.

My Nan has fantastic care at Ashbourne Lodge. This care is provided by a pleasant, hardworking caring staff who have my Nan's best interests at heart. She is well looked after and is always well turned out and clean. It gives me peace of mind that my Nan is in a safe, secure environment.

Mum seems to be happy most of the time. The times when she gets upset, this is due to her confusion when she doesn't know what is going on. The staff here are lovely. They treat her well and comfort her when she is upset. My mother loves to be warm. Occasionally she finds the temperature to be too high.
I (as a visitor) usually find it uncomfortably warm.

My mother is treated with great care and support by the staff. She is always treated as an individual with dignity. Staff are resilient, long-suffering and good humoured. My husband became a resident at Ashbourne Lodge in May 2017. I visit regularly and have found the staff patient, caring and tolerant. Food is provided frequently and often which pleases my husband as he has a good appetite.
I like the practice of residents being in the lounge during the day as opposed
to them sitting in their rooms on their own. I think everyone needs stimulus. Overall appraisal "good".

Punam has gained over ten years’ experience in providing care and support to older people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Punam joined Ashbourne Lodge as Home Manager because she closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Ashbourne Lodge.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Punam remarked: “I get enormous satisfaction from seeing our Residents well looked after.”


Away from work, Punam enjoys listening to music and socialising with her family and friends.
