I am extremely happy with the care and attention that my mother is receiving at Ashbourne.
The staff are very attentive and report to me immediately any issues that may arise with my mother.

I am confident that my mother is receiving the best care possible.

I am overall happy with the care at Ashbourne Lodge, his room is always clean and tidy, sometimes I do need to prompt with having his daily shaves and to keep his nails cut and clean. Apart from that, very happy!

The staff, from management through to laundry, cleaning, catering but especially carers, have been wonderful to my mother who died at the home in December. They not only gave my mother wonderful care throughout her stay, but most of all at end of life. They also supported myself and my family during this difficult time. They not only gave 100%, they also went the extra mile. I feel they were not only family to my mum but also to myself and my family and I miss them.

Excellent standards all round, cared for by my mother for close to five years now and at all times have upheld high standards of care and professionalism.

Whilst my mother has steadily declined with dementia, the home and staff have always shown the appropriate care and compassion, treating her with dignity and respect always.

Dad appears to be very happy and settled. He likes his food and I feel that the staff are very attentive and see to his needs. He is generally clean and that is all we are looking for. He tends to stay in his room and this is always looked after.

I think that overall, everything is ok. However, I have noticed when visiting mum at lunchtime, a vegetarian option never seems to be available.

The rooms are quite small and there are no chairs for visitors.

Reply from Clare Sheehan, Careline Advisor at Ashbourne Lodge Care Home

Thank you for taking the time to complete a review for the home. We have plenty of chairs available for visitors in the main lounge and dining rooms on each floor, we would be happy to take a chair in for relatives to use when visiting, please feel free to ask a member of staff on your arrival to...

We find the staff very pleasant and friendly. They are very helpful when asked for help. The cleaning staff keep her room in excellent condition. Any problems and you first have to ask. The kitchen staff do a really good job. The food is varied and you have plenty to choose from. She gets really well fed. Mam is quite happy here. I have no concerns, if I had any, I just go to management and it is sorted.

Mam is now into her third year at Ashbourne Lodge and staff have sensitively modified the nature and degree of care needed as her independence have increased. Care from all staff has been good with, in a smaller number of cases an outstanding level of commitment. Liaison and involvement of other agents (district nurses, GP etc) has been prompt and effective.
The atmosphere around Ashbourne Lodge is always friendly and positive.

I am always made to feel welcome. It feels like a community with a very positive ethos.
