Ashbourne Lodge Care Home provide 24hour care to my mother-in-law who will say that this is her home. It is very colourful and bright and clean. New menus have just started which has food my mother-in-law likes. All her needs and care are met to a high standard. If my mother-in-law is unwell, the care home immediately phones the doctor and myself to let me know. Any concerns I have are discussed straight away and a plan is put in place. I know she is kept well and safe and the support you get from the management and staff is of a high standard. They are friendly and very polite and give care and dignity to everyone there.

I visited this home today looking for a safe and secure home for my mam. I've looked at a few homes but this one seemed very nice a lovely, homely place to be when we visited. We were taken upstairs where a lovely, friendly member of staff was decorating and explained it all about scenery for the dementia which we found very interesting, what a lovely thing to do for people with dementia. This is the home we would want to look after my mam.

The staff organised a fabulous 90th garden party for my mother and the queen. They were very attentive to all the residents, making sure they were all able to participate and enjoy the day. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They included me in all the arrangements which resulted in the creation of many happy memories for my mam, myself and her family and friends.

My mother-in-law has settled in well at the care home after a few initial problems, which were to be expected. She has a good relationship with the staff and some of the residents, that she associates with. The fact that she has lived in the Sunderland area for most of her life a positive fact in her being comfortable in her new surroundings. The home is also fairly close to her family who are able to pay her regular visits and speak to the staff regularly on concerns that they have.

I am happy in the home. I am looked after well and get on well with the staff. I enjoy the meals provided. Often I have health problems, they are quickly dealt with. I enjoy the entertainment provided during the week but would like more trips out.
