We chose Ashbourne Lodge due to its position next to the park and the reception we received when asking to look around. The friendly nature of the staff and willingness to accommodate requests impressed us from the start and continued to do so. My father isn't the most cooperative at times due to his condition and all the staff have tried their best to make him comfortable, always showing a pleasant and cheerful manner.

Mum seems to be happy most of the time. The times when she gets upset, this is due to her confusion when she doesn't know what is going on. The staff here are lovely. They treat her well and comfort her when she is upset. My mother loves to be warm. Occasionally she finds the temperature to be too high. I (as a visitor) usually find it uncomfortably warm.

My husband became a resident at Ashbourne Lodge in May 2017. I visit regularly and have found the staff patient, caring and tolerant. Food is provided frequently and often which pleases my husband as he has a good appetite.

I like the practice of residents being in the lounge during the day as opposed to them sitting in their rooms on their own. I think everyone needs stimulus. Overall appraisal "good".

I have been a resident at Ashbourne Lodge for eight months. Throughout this time I have been very well cared for but this was especially so when I became ill. Every member of staff went out of their way to see that I had everything that I needed and their understanding and patience were first rate.

On my visits here I have seen a few changes and not for the better. Some staff are good and others not. I have been disappointed lately.

My friend settled very nicely and seems very happy at Ashbourne Lodge, eating and drinking really well.

As someone who said she would never go in to a care home, she has settled really well, which is very surprising to me. She is very happy and looked after at Ashbourne Lodge.

This is my second visit to see my friend/ex-neighbour. Staff have been very pleasant both times. Very friendly and attentive to residents. Have sorted out issues/towels not replaced, but on reminder, a replacement was put in and a spare left in the drawer.
