Acorn Grange

I can't comment about decor or activities as I have not been able to go into the home yet, but hopefully that will change.

I appreciate the care given to my mother and that I am kept up to date on how she is. I am informed of incidents such as falls and changes in medication. A nice touch was a card and photograph of her sent early in lockdown.

Compassionate and caring. Keeping in touch this year has been excellent.

I haven't seen my mam for so long now but whenever we ring up the staff have loads of time for us even though they are extremely busy. They are always friendly and go out of their way to help us and mam in any way they can.

I am extremely happy with the care my sister-in-law receives. The staff are most helpful and very very caring. I would have no problem discussing any problem I had as they are all very accessible to any of my sister's needs. Thank you so much for all you do for her.

I am writing this review because I am extremely pleased with the care my husband is and has received for the past two years. I have POA for my husband. His dementia is server, and he has lost all speech, his sight and hearing are very bad also. When he could speak and he knew me, he told me he was pleased with the care, enjoyed the company of the residents and staff. The staff are very good with him. He is always well dressed and clean. In these terrible times, I am kept informed by the management, reception or staff.

While my mother has been a resident in Acorn Grange care home, she has settled in well. She takes part in the activities and has met new friends. The staff are excellent and the management. The care home is very clean and the room of the residents. The staff and management go out of their way making sure all of the residents are looked after according to their needs, also they are well-nourished.

My mother has had the best care possible. We have been very impressed with the staff caring and level of professionalism shown. They are very knowledgeable, friendly and always willing to help. We have great peace of mind that my mother is comfortable and receiving the help she requires.

In the current situation is difficult to fully appreciate the levels of care and understanding needed to be given by carers. What I can say is that the team at Acorn Grange have done their utmost to keep my father and other residents safe and cared for. I was extremely upset and concerned at the prospect of my father being in lockdown for so long but he is well and settled when we do see him. He is happy and I believe, incredibly, he has not deteriorated as I and the rest of the family feared he would. I believe this to be down to the hard work and total dedication of the staff. For this I, my mam and sister are incredibly grateful. We are missing Dad so much and would love the opportunity to hug him or hold his hand but as this is not an option we can be in part reassured that he is well cared for both mentally and physically by the team. I believe the leadership of the home sets high standards and expectations which the staff deliver on.

All through these trying times, the staff have looked after my mam so very well. Despite the fact we cannot visit we are well informed about her welfare and health. They are working so hard to keep the residents' spirits up as well as keeping them healthy and safe.

The care provided is second to none. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. I have always found them to be extremely friendly, professional and caring. I have always spoken very highly of Acorn Grange to friends and family.

The food is also very good which is important when meals and snacks break up the day and my husband really enjoys his food and care is taken with his special diet.

Absolutely first class care home. Sister and brother-in-law have settled in really well. The staff go above and beyond to offer care and support making sure all their needs are met. Lovely home and lovely staff nothing is any trouble.

Mam and Dad are thriving in Acorn Grange and the staff and Management have been first class in their approach to the care of Mam and Dad and their smooth transition into care home life. Care, empathy and the passion shown by the Staff to all Residents speaks volumes for the Management structure in implementing their core values and ensuring the best care is implemented each and every day.

Nothing is too much trouble and every effort is made to make life happy and comfortable for our loved ones.

Excellent standard of care, always informed, staff are always kind and courteous and nothing is a problem for them. Standards are excellent, it is lovely to see how well cared for residents are and to have absolute peace of mind that they are receiving the very best care, thank you Acorn Grange.

The ordering of medication needs reviewing as extra painkillers are frequently needed. The staff are very caring and her choices are always accepted and catered for. The food is of very good quality that's mostly home-cooked and the quantity is efficient.

Excellent home. Staff all very friendly not frightened to ask anything.
