The manager keeps me up to date with all matters related to my mum. I am so relieved to know my mum in a place where she is cared for, valued and respected.
The Grange have a person centered approach, so my mum is seen and respected as a unique individual who's past and life story is integral to the person she is now. It's not forgotten.

So the person is not lost.

My 95-year-old dad has now been resident at The Grange for almost 18 months. His health has been up and down but at all times he is treated with the utmost care and respect by the staff who go out of their way to make Dad feel at home. As we his family live quite some distance away we are not able to visit quite as often as we would like. However, we do keep in touch with regular video and phone calls and staff are always happy to facilitate these to keep up regular communication, which is so important. Thank you to the manager and her staff for all they do for our dad, which is very much appreciated.

I am very happy with the care given to my mum while she's been residing at The Grange. She has come on leaps and bounds since arriving here and is walking independently, is relaxed and looks at home. The carers are brilliant, all very friendly, caring and knowledgeable about their residents. I've met the manageress today who is also lovely. A big thank you to The Grange.

The Grange Care Home cannot be faulted. The staff and management go out of their way to make me feel at ease and have been there to sort out any problems or issues. They have supported me and helped me whereas I have had very little support from my GP surgery. The staff at the surgery on the switchboard are not medically trained and therefore can only say very little to help. The food at The Grange is also very good and I get healthy portions.

There has been a massive improvement to the cleanliness of the home, new carpets have made a massive difference. Love the sensory display and newly decorated lounge. All of this makes a better environment for residents, visitors, family and staff. Great relationship, communication between staff, residents and visitors. Please could we have fitted sheets and more flannels.

My father went into the home for respite and a care needs assessment, following a period in hospital due to falls and confusion. He was there for 3 weeks. The manager and all the staff were very caring and responsive to his needs. Dad was very confused and delirious, the staff understood how to look after him and put his mind at rest. The only reason he didn't remain in the home was that I wanted to find a home nearer to me so that I could visit more often.

My 95-year-old dad has been a resident at The Grange for 8 months now after becoming unable to manage at home. Unfortunately, his health is declining due to old age but he has settled in now. I am just back from my latest visit and took the opportunity to sit down with the Home Manager, who took me through his extremely comprehensive care plan which was greatly reassuring. Dad is losing weight and has very little appetite. We discussed his food preferences and she agreed to ensure that dad would be offered his particular food preferences each day as an alternative to the daily menu. She involved a senior staff member and one of the kitchen staff in the discussion to ensure dad’s wishes would be met. Very reassuring. I raised a concern about dad’s low mood at times and she arranged a visit by dad’s GP. I would highly recommend The Grange and would like to pass on my thanks to the Home Manager and every member of her team for their commitment, compassion and excellent level of care.

My personal experience with all the different staff members at The Grange Care Home has been very positive.
My husband has been a resident for 2.5 years, he has advanced dementia and requires help with every aspect of day to day care.
The staff met his needs with care and respect, which isn’t always an easy task as he can become quite angry due to his dementia.

I know the staff will contact me if they have any concerns. I have the upmost respect for all of them.

Overall Experience

My parents moved to The Grange recently. From the very 1st meeting with the assistant manager, I had a good feeling about the place. I visited 3 times, once just on spec, before I made my decision and had the same impression each time. Since they moved in the staff could not have been better. They treat the residents with kindness and respect and are very supportive of me as well since the process of my parents not being able to look after themselves and having to move to care is quite overwhelming. One parent has settled quite well and is smiling and telling me they are happy, I couldn’t ask for more than that. My other parent is still adjusting and there have been a couple of incidents, both when I was visiting and when I wasn’t the staff reacted so professionally and are being proactive in establishing the source of the issues and getting appropriate help. From the manager to the carers, housekeepers, maintenance team and the admin staff everyone is supportive and wants to do the best for the residents.

My mom has just recently moved into the home so at the moment can’t say too much but what I have it seems to be very good. The carers treat mom very well. All the ones I have spoken to are very nice and caring. My mom will settle in here quite nicely. My mom is 104 so a little bit goes a long way. Thank you.
