The Rookery Care Home

After losing my mother last year, it became clear that my father, who has alzeheimers required specialist care and could no longer live at home. My father moved into The Rookery care home December 2024. I cannot thank staff enough for the excellent care given to my father during very confusing times. I commend their hard work and dedication. The Rookery is like a home from home for my father as a resident but also us as a family. Very warm, welcoming and friendly. Rooms and communal areas are beautifully decorated,comfortable and suit the needs of each resident perfectly. There is a wide choice of food available on the weekly menu. My father thoroughly enjoys his meals and looks forward to the sounds of the tea trolley throughout the day!

We go to visit my auntie in The Rookery every couple of months because we live in Llanelli. The home is lovely and the staff are very welcoming and very helpful. My auntie seems quite happy there although she has got dementia. She's got a nice room and says the food is very nice.

Our dad had been at The Rookery for a year, as he has recently passed away. I cannot compliment all staff for the part everyone played in making my dads stay wonderful. Dad was so happy and contented and it's all thanks to the kindness and hard work put in by all staff on a daily basis. Always kept beautifully clean, well fed and everyone always had a smile for him, which I believe is very important. You will never know what a huge difference you made to dads life and to us all as a family!! I will forever be grateful to each and every one of you. Thank you so much

My review is simple. My wife has been well looked after for two and a half years. She is well-settled and cared for by compassionate staff. They all deserve any praise. I have complete confidence in the staff's ability to make my wife's daily life as pleasant as possible.

My mum has recently been very poorly again and is completely bedbound. Rather than her go into hospital she has been cared for in The Rookery which we appreciate so much. She is kept comfortable, clean and looked after in an exemplary manner. We find comfort in the fact she is treated in this way and couldn't ask for better. The staff also look after us as a family and for all these reasons we are extremely grateful.

My review to this care home is excellent. Care of nurses is next to none. Excellent caring of residents is number one in everything they do, involving in entertaining and craft making, and making that they are all looked after health wise.

Very good standard of care tailored to the individual's needs. Very responsive to changes in care and dietary needs. Staff work very hard to be approachable and trustworthy.

The staff are all very friendly, and we would like to thank them all for looking after our good friend.

Excellent staff always helpful, respectful

Since my mother-in-law has been here the staff have been very helpful happy and always about if you need anything. She seems very happy here and seem really settled.

My main concern is to do with the apparent lack of activities/entertainment for the resident. I have not seen any take place during the last 4 months. Otherwise, all good.

I have visited this home for some time and the standard of care remains very good. It is a very happy and safe environment for everyone. Many thanks to the staff.

Placement has been a very positive thing for Mam. The environment is cheerful and welcoming. Activities encourage residents to participate and keep them busy and engaged. The staff are approachable and helpful and treat residents with respect but also as if they were family members.

My mother has been at The Rookery Care Home for two years and in that time we have had no concerns as a family. She is well looked after and we are kept well informed regarding her care.

The treatment my mother has received from the staff has been first class. They are attentive to all residents and all approachable. The management handle quires in a timely manner and respond to all issues that are raised.

She is well looked after, enjoys the company of the carers, enjoys the food. She always looks clean and cared for. Her health and happiness have definitely improved as she now has 24/7 care

The first moment I set foot through the door the staff there were polite and helpful. They showed me around as my mother-in-law was going to stay there. It was clean and well looked after. I spoke to other residents and all seemed happy and well cared for. Lots of activities for them. Arts and crafts. Fetes and singers in the evening. My mother-in-law was there a few weeks, this was the first time that she felt relaxed, safe and cared for. She said the food was lovely and couldn't ask for better people looking after her. Nothing was too much trouble, they had time to spend with her. Would personally like to thank the deputy manager, senior care assistant and two other staff members as they were the ones who spent the most time with her. For the amazing care that they gave her. We felt at ease when she was in their care. Also the others that were there for her also. My mother-in-law was only there a few weeks but they were really happy for her. Would recommend this home. 5 stars for everything. Thank you from both of us.

Speaking on behalf of myself and the rest of the family. I cannot praise the staff and management enough. The loving care they have shown my mother-in-law has been amazing and the carers are very special people. Their care has also extended to the family and we will be eternally grateful for their love and support during a very difficult time. Thank you all.

I was very impressed with everyone and everything I saw. I would recommend visiting if a relative needs care.
