I visited my neighbour/friend at The Rookery. The outside of the building is very inviting. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms and surroundings are clean and very nicely set out.
He told me how caring everyone was (I could see this for myself whilst visiting).
I was very impressed
with everyone and everything I saw. I would recommend visiting if a relative needs care.

I live abroad and this is the first opportunity I've had to visit my mum since she came to live at The Rookery. My first impression was that the home was clean, fresh and inviting. I was greeted warmly by the staff and spent several hours a day in a row visiting Mum and observing the day-to-day operations.
I was never made to feel uncomfortable or a burden. The staff are extremely professional and genuinely caring and compassionate to all the residents no matter how difficult or tedious the task at hand. The level of care my mum is receiving is far above my expectations. I cannot thank the staff enough for all they do for my mum and the other residents, and for easing any worries I had about Mum's care and well being.

In March my father moved into The Rookery Residential Home in Ebbwvale.
A normal day for my Dad, after he gets up in the morning he is assisted with a shower. He is dressing in clean clothes. He is then taken to the dining room for breakfast which can be cereal or a warm breakfast.
After breakfast,
there are options for activities but by this time Dad often has a cup of tea and a nap. While all this is going on his bed is stripped and his room is thoroughly cleaned it smells so fresh all the time.
Dad is brought drinks roughly every 1 1/2 hours hot and cold drinks that he is encouraged to drink. They have a cooked lunch and a lovely pudding.
After lunch Dad usually gets involved with the activities, he is always very proud of what he has made. Since my Dad has been there he has needed to see the doctor twice and each time it’s been arranged in a timely manner. As a family, we are so impressed with the wonderful care my Dad is given.
I highly recommend this care home.

Mam entered the Rookery early in January 2024. Took a short while for her to settle. The staff did and still do everything they can to help and reassure her, whatever the time, day or night. We ring every day and if needs be they ring me for a chat with Mam. They are quick to pick up if there is a medical
problem and get it sorted straight away. We as a family are very grateful to all the staff.

Carers are very kind to my nan. I hated the thought of my nan being in there for Christmas, to be honest, but they made it so fabulous for her, I'm so grateful for everything they do. The decorations, parties, making sure everyone was included - just brilliant.

It’s a traumatic experience when your loved ones can no longer manage to live without full care. It is comforting, however, to know that there are places like this that can provide a safe and caring environment. The range of activities provided to stimulate and entertain residents is marvellous. The
rooms are very nice and it is set in a nice area with a lovely garden. The food is great and between meals, there is regular tea and biscuits and cakes. Most importantly, the care is excellent. Residents have priority access to doctors and dentists which is much harder at home. The staff are lovely and build a genuine bond and rapport with the residents. One of my mother’s carers returned to work early, following an operation, because she was concerned my mother would be distressed by her absence. I don’t think my mother would be alive now if she didn’t have the care she has here. Sadly, her needs are beyond what the family can provide so I am thankful for this place.

As a family, we have nothing at all to complain about with The Rookery Care Home. The staff are always so welcoming to people visiting. Our mother was always treated with care, love, respect and dignity. The staff are all amazing. The activities they provide are great and when it ever came to a health
issue, the staff would always inform us.
There should most definitely be more homes like this.
The Rookery is an excellent example of how to care and treat the residents.
During my mother's last days at The Rookery, the staff were there for us, as a family, and our mother. Nothing was too much for them.
I will 100% recommend The Rookery.

All the staff at The Rookery Care Home provide my mum with the care she requires in a dignified and professional manner. They are extremely caring and also very friendly to residents and their visitors. My mum recently had to go into hospital and the support given to my mum and her daughters was outstanding.
On her return, the greeting she received was beautiful. You could tell my mum was glad to be home. Changes to her care needs were met immediately. I can't thank the staff enough for the love and care given to my mum.

Since day one, when myself and my family visited The Rookery Care Home for a visit before my mother was admitted, the staff have been nothing short of exceptional, friendly, helpful, understanding and sympathetic. My mother became a resident in March 2023 and has been looked after with outstanding care.
The staff are all very approachable and always reply to any questions with full and detailed feedback. I, personally, couldn't be happier or feel safer in the knowledge that my mother is being looked after 24 hours a day by such professional and caring people.

When I last visited my mother, she was happy and very active. The staff are always very helpful and update me with her care plans etc, One of the staff took time to have a long chat with me about Mum which was lovely. As Mum's dementia progresses and her attention span is very short, it's difficult
to have a conversation with her now and I felt there were only fleeting moments when she recognised me.
I am always updated if there is any change in my mother's condition very quickly and they involve me in her care where possible.
I only have praise for The Rookery Care Home and their staff, we, as a family, feel blessed that our mother is in such a caring and homely environment. We would recommend any family to really consider The Rookery if they need care for their relative.

My father has been a resident at The Rookery Care Home since 18th July 2023. He suffers with vascular dementia/Alzheimer's and degenerative macular disease plus numerous other ailments.
I and the rest of the family always worried whether he would settle, especially being that it was a different environment
to what he was used to. I can totally, 100% say we had no need to worry. The staff are wonderful, not only to their residents but to their families. Nothing is too much trouble, they keep you informed with regard to anything that concerns Dad. Knowing that he is so well looked after and that he is happy where he is removes a lot of the stress from myself and the rest of the family. The Rookery staff are so approachable and nothing is too much trouble for them.

The staff members at the care home are incredibly attentive and compassionate, providing great care to all residents.
The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, creating a homely and welcoming environment. The common areas are well-maintained and offer a variety of activities and amenities for
residents to enjoy.
The care home truly values the well-being of its residents and provides personalised care and support, taking the time to get to know each resident on a personal level. It is evident that they genuinely care about the happiness and quality of life of each resident.

I have nothing but praise for the manager and staff of The Rookery Care Home. The high standard of care and attention that my mother receives is second to none. We are always promptly informed of any health issues that have arisen and have been kept abreast of treatments needed.
Finally, I must mention
that her room is always clean and tidy, which is a credit to the housekeeping staff.

My mother was a resident at The Rookery Care Home until the 3rd of January 2024 when we sadly lost her life. She had been at The Rookery for nearly three years and if it hadn't been for the care provided in the last few years that she'd been at The Rookery, this sad day would have come a lot sooner.
She
was contented there and was well looked after. She always commented how clean and tidy it was and how good the food was. The staff were very attentive to her needs and they made her stay there very enjoyable. The communication between the staff and myself regarding the well-being and any health issues was very good. Some care homes receive bad publicity and reviews but I would absolutely recommend this facility to anyone who was looking for a suitable care home for their loved ones.
My mother spent her last years here and can't thank The Rookery enough for all the care they provided.

I visit my sister a few times a week. There is always a friendly welcome as soon as I enter the home. We appreciate the care my sister has from all staff members. I’m so glad we visited The Rookery Care Home when we were looking for residential care for my sister. We truly found a “home”.

I was so worried about moving my nan into a home, as I had been caring for her for a few years myself.
I cannot express how easy and comfortable the staff have made the whole experience for me. When she first moved, we were in lockdown and they called me every day from the home's iPads to allow me
to speak to my nan as they knew how much we were both struggling with the change.
The staff, for the last three years, have been nothing but exceptional. Nothing is ever too much trouble, they are fantastic with updates and reviews, they always have time to talk with me when I’m concerned about my nan's condition and make me feel so welcome when I visit. They take exceptional care of my nan and I think it’s easy to tell that they love her as much as she loved them. They are so gentle and friendly but also so much fun with her and I am genuinely so pleased and relieved to have such wonderful carers to look after her every day.

My mother expressed an interest in the recent "Blue "Moon". Kristian from the admin team found a picture on the internet, printed and laminated it for her. She is so delighted with it. It's these extra little actions that make The Rookery a bit more special.

  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
