It’s a traumatic experience when your loved ones can no longer manage to live without full care. It is comforting, however, to know that there are places like this that can provide a safe and caring environment. The range of activities provided to stimulate and entertain residents is marvellous. The rooms are very nice and it is set in a nice area with a lovely garden. The food is great and between meals, there is regular tea and biscuits and cakes. Most importantly, the care is excellent. Residents have priority access to doctors and dentists which is much harder at home. The staff are lovely and build a genuine bond and rapport with the residents. One of my mother’s carers returned to work early, following an operation, because she was concerned my mother would be distressed by her absence. I don’t think my mother would be alive now if she didn’t have the care she has here. Sadly, her needs are beyond what the family can provide so I am thankful for this place.
Thank you for taking the time to review us, I am delighted to hear such wonderful comments. As a team, we strive to maintain high standards for everyone within our care. It's valuable that residents have the home-from-home experience which we aim to create, I am pleased that Mam has settled here at The Rookery and you, as a family, are reassured.
There should most definitely be more homes like this.
The Rookery is an excellent example of how to care and treat the residents.
During my mother's last days at The Rookery, the staff were there for us, as a family, and our mother. Nothing was too much for them.
I will 100% recommend The Rookery.
Thank you to everyone for all you done for our mother.
Thank you so much for your lovely review, I am glad you felt supported during the difficult times when Mam was poorly, thankfully, prior to this, Mam was able to enjoy and take part in a range of activities, made friends and felt at home with us. We miss Mam and family dearly.
Since day one, when myself and my family visited The Rookery Care Home for a visit before my mother was admitted, the staff have been nothing short of exceptional, friendly, helpful, understanding and sympathetic. My mother became a resident in March 2023 and has been looked after with outstanding care. The staff are all very approachable and always reply to any questions with full and detailed feedback. I, personally, couldn't be happier or feel safer in the knowledge that my mother is being looked after 24 hours a day by such professional and caring people.
Thank you for writing such a wonderful review, I am so pleased that you are happy with the service we provide, it's important to us that families are kept updated and remain fully involved. I am glad that you have the reassurance that Mam is safe and well cared for.
I am always updated if there is any change in my mother's condition very quickly and they involve me in her care where possible.
I only have praise for The Rookery Care Home and their staff, we, as a family, feel blessed that our mother is in such a caring and homely environment. We would recommend any family to really consider The Rookery if they need care for their relative.
Thank you for your lovely review, it's important that families are updated with changes and kept fully involved, I am pleased to hear that this is the service you have received, thank you for choosing us to care for Mam.
I and the rest of the family always worried whether he would settle, especially being that it was a different environment to what he was used to. I can totally, 100% say we had no need to worry. The staff are wonderful, not only to their residents but to their families. Nothing is too much trouble, they keep you informed with regard to anything that concerns Dad. Knowing that he is so well looked after and that he is happy where he is removes a lot of the stress from myself and the rest of the family. The Rookery staff are so approachable and nothing is too much trouble for them.
Thank you for leaving such a wonderful review, I am so pleased your experience of The Rookery has been so positive, I will ensure your review is shared throughout the team.
The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable, creating a homely and welcoming environment. The common areas are well-maintained and offer a variety of activities and amenities for residents to enjoy.
The care home truly values the well-being of its residents and provides personalised care and support, taking the time to get to know each resident on a personal level. It is evident that they genuinely care about the happiness and quality of life of each resident.
My grandmother is in good hands and she is happy overall, receiving the care and support she deserves.
Thanks for completing a review for The Rookery. We love our home and take pride in the work we do. It is good to know that you are happy with the care provided to your grandmother and are supported as a family.
Finally, I must mention that her room is always clean and tidy, which is a credit to the housekeeping staff.

Amazing staff, very considerate and caring. My mother has settled in well there thanks to them. The home, itself, is clean and food always looks appetising. I cannot thank them enough for looking after my mother so well.
I am glad your experience has been so positive.
She was contented there and was well looked after. She always commented how clean and tidy it was and how good the food was. The staff were very attentive to her needs and they made her stay there very enjoyable. The communication between the staff and myself regarding the well-being and any health issues was very good. Some care homes receive bad publicity and reviews but I would absolutely recommend this facility to anyone who was looking for a suitable care home for their loved ones.
My mother spent her last years here and can't thank The Rookery enough for all the care they provided.
Such beautiful, heartfelt comments, we are so very lucky at The Rookery to have spent time with your lovely mum and get to know you all, as a family. It is such a privilege. I'm so glad you chose The Rookery. Thank you so much for the kind words.
I visit my sister a few times a week. There is always a friendly welcome as soon as I enter the home. We appreciate the care my sister has from all staff members. I’m so glad we visited The Rookery Care Home when we were looking for residential care for my sister. We truly found a “home”.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review, feedback is really important to us. As a team, we are passionate about the care we provide and I am pleased your experience has been so positive and that you feel so welcome during your visits.
I cannot express how easy and comfortable the staff have made the whole experience for me. When she first moved, we were in lockdown and they called me every day from the home's iPads to allow me to speak to my nan as they knew how much we were both struggling with the change.
The staff, for the last three years, have been nothing but exceptional. Nothing is ever too much trouble, they are fantastic with updates and reviews, they always have time to talk with me when I’m concerned about my nan's condition and make me feel so welcome when I visit. They take exceptional care of my nan and I think it’s easy to tell that they love her as much as she loved them. They are so gentle and friendly but also so much fun with her and I am genuinely so pleased and relieved to have such wonderful carers to look after her every day.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review, as a team, we are aware of the worries families have on first experiences of a care home and we strive to alleviate as much as possible. It's important for both residents and families that the contact between loved ones continues and that...
As always my visits have been very pleasant. The staff are always welcoming. The newsletters show the wonderful range of activities arranged for the residents to enjoy. The staff continue to provide excellent care for the residents.
Thank you for taking the time to review our home. I am pleased your visits have been positive and that you enjoy receiving our monthly newsletters, the newsletters keep families and friends updated so you can see what activities have taken place within the last month. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
My mother expressed an interest in the recent "Blue "Moon". Kristian from the admin team found a picture on the internet, printed and laminated it for her. She is so delighted with it. It's these extra little actions that make The Rookery a bit more special.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review, It is so nice to hear that Kristian was so helpful and that it brightened your mother's day.
Fab staff. Lovely welcome. Everyone looked happy.
Thank you for taking the time to review our home we look forward to you visiting in the future.
My mum's health and well-being have improved dramatically in the 11 months that she's been here. It's all thanks to the dedication of the staff. They go above and beyond to give the residents the care they need. Thank you very much.
Thank you for taking the time to review us, there is nothing more rewarding than hearing from a loved one that their relative's overall well-being has improved since being with us.
My girlfriend moved into The Rookery in March 2023. She has settled in well and is being very well looked after. I cannot fault the staff at The Rookery, as they are very attentive to her needs. The food is okay and there is plenty of variety. The sensory garden is well-laid out for residents to use on sunny days. They even have entertainers, which is a nice touch.
Thank you so much for taking the time to complete a review for our home your comments will be shared to the team.
My sister is usually in the lounge sitting comfortably and reluctant to accompany me to her room, (always something going on and keeping her occupied). The food always nourishing. Biscuits and tea at regular intervals. Her room always tidy, and comfortable. All the staff are excellent always beyond the call of duty.
Thank you for taking the time to complete such a lovely review, I am pleased your experience has been so positive and that you are both happy.
The Rookery Care Home is an excellent place for my mam. All the staff are very friendly and supportive the care staff take good care of me and my mam. I would highly recommend the care home for anyone looking for accommodation.
Thank you for your positive feedback, I will personally relay your comments back to the staff who I know will be delighted with your review.
I visited the Rookery to see an old friend when I was in the area - the staff knew I was planning to visit and contacted me a day or so beforehand to confirm. There was a birthday party in full swing with singing and dancing!
My friend and I were taken into a separate room for my visit although we could still hear and see the entertainment.
I was very impressed with the way staff ensured residents were fully involved with singing and waving to the beat!
Those who were able were encouraged to dance.I spoke with several members of staff during the afternoon and they’re an excellent caring professional team
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and I am being allowed to bring my dog to visit when next I’m in the area later in the year.Since I returned home I’ve received FaceTime calls so I can engage with my friend. The Manager organises this and nothing is too much trouble for her.
An excellent care home.
Thank you
Activities are important to us and we make every effort to ensure residents enjoy themselves, it is so rewarding for us as a team to see residents happy and having a good time. We welcome your return.
Staff are so friendly and it’s cosy and I feel my friend is catered for better than at home. When she was at home it was too much of a risk for her and I’m much happier seeing her here with staff that care.
Thank you for reviewing our home, as a team we are pleased to have your feedback. We appreciate it is a difficult decision for everyone involved when moving home and we are pleased that your friend's stay has been positive and that she is happy.
