Myself and my brothers cannot praise Balcarres Care Home highly enough. Our lovely mum moved in here about three months ago and has had a revival since going there. Mum has mild dementia and was no longer coping on her own. Since going into Balcarres, she is receiving truly excellent care, both emotionally
and physically. The manager is excellent at keeping us informed of how Mum is and at making sure staff meet very high standards. The food, grounds and activities are also superb and we have loved seeing photos and videos of our mum up and dancing (with some support). A wee gem of a place.

All staff are friendly and welcoming and know residents well. There are various activities available for residents who wish to participate, from craft work to listening and dancing to singers. It is lovely to see residents so happy and joining in. The home is beautifully decorated for Christmas, as
it is when there is any special occasion.

My mother was in Balcarres Care Home for over 6 years and in all that time I can honestly say, the staff and the manager done all they could for my mother. My mother was living with dementia and unaware of her environment but the staff made this process easy and made my mother feel at home and the care
was excellent. From the bottom of my heart, I was overwhelmed with the care provided and would recommend this home to anyone.

Balcarres Care Home has made the transition for my mum really easy, it has been a very positive experience for all the family. The care for residents is fantastic, there is an open door policy and you are welcome to visit any time - the management team and care home staff are welcoming this makes it
a warm comforting environment for residents and visitors.
Cleanliness is also very good, we love the buildings and the grounds, the programme of activities and outings looks very well organised.

Balcarres Care Home is a lovely home, my mum is very happy there. She has a lovely room, always kept clean and tidy. The staff are excellent. Always willing to help and quick to contact me if there are any issues with Mum. Dealt with quickly

I have been a neighbour opposite the care home for three decades. Balcarres Care Home has always been number one in Dundee and still is. It has progressed to be the number one in the UK. I am pleased to observe the recent changes will only maintain the excellent standard and wherever possible, be improved.
As a service user, my life would be impossible without the kindness from all the staff.

The new manageress is certainly making her mark and noticeable changes are improving the high standards already set here. The manager is approachable and takes into account individual requirements of our mother. The staff are friendly and helpful and try to involve the service users in activities. This

Can't praise all the staff at Balcarres Care Home enough for the care and compassion they give my mum and our family. It is always spotlessly clean. My mum is always dressed as she would like and some staff even go the extra mile to ensure she has her lipstick on.

Balcarres Care Home is an amazing care home, I'm so glad to have found it. Both my parents are residents with complex needs. The staff are very friendly, kind and caring and they are very well looked after. The staff could not be more helpful and I can go anytime I want to and take my dog. I feel very
included as they keep me up to date all the time. The residents are all very well looked after and the food there is amazing. There are lots of activities and trips. They all get beautiful birthday cakes and when it was my parents' diamond anniversary they were treated like royalty. Thank you to all the staff.

Both my parents stay at Balcarres Care Home, my father for two years and my mother for one year.
The overall care for both is excellent, all aspects of their life are covered and I believe my parents are happy at Balcarres, albeit clouded by dementia.

Beautiful care home and lovely grounds and well looked after. Fabulous meals and staff are excellent.
Could do with more activities/stimulation, especially over the weekend and Mondays. There's a big change in everyone on Tuesday and Wednesday. Also, do staff need to sit and fill in reports during
the quiet periods as they are not paying enough attention to residents? Would also appreciate more personal care for Mum's appearance, teeth brushed, face washed, clean clothes etc. Gives her dignity.

I cannot speak too highly of Balcarres Care Home. The care shown to the residents is exceptional, as is the support shown to the families by the outstanding management team. The lovely building is surrounded by well-tended gardens. Residents are encouraged to participate in the numerous activities and
outings. Cleanliness is paramount and there is an excellent, varied food and drink menu which my husband enjoyed. He was very well looked after by the friendly staff.
