I was very lucky to get my mum a place in this lovely home. She is very well cared for in her daily needs. The quality of the food is excellent for her health. Her daily needs are met with care and attention. The staff and carers are all very kind and treat her with respect. Her well-being, physical and mental needs are well catered for with activities and music to keep her stimulated. Her bedroom has a few of her personal items which is more than adequate for her needs. The afternoon tea trolley is always lovely and better than you would get in some restaurants. This is a five-star home and I feel blessed every day that my mum is so well cared for.

Ever since my friend moved into The Birches I have been so impressed by everything! The staff are amazing - all of them are incredibly kind, caring and attentive all the time, even when my friend gets difficult. The atmosphere is welcoming. The food is always freshly made and tasty. I keep taking photos of the afternoon tea tray - so much love and thought goes into it. The manager is a hands-on manager who is liked and respected by all. I would have to name every single individual member of staff as they are all wonderful. This is the kind of place I would like to move into because I know I would be happy, safe and secure. My only gripe is that The Birches does not have its own social media page.

The Birches provide a friendly, welcoming homely environment, which was one of the main reasons I chose the care home for my mum. They have an excellent activity organiser and I particularly enjoy looking through the folder in mum’s room containing photographs of activities she has enjoyed. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and I can not thank them enough for the loving care they provided to my mum.

The care I have received has been first-class. The attention to detail (the small things that are much appreciated) is excellent. The environment is both comfortable and efficient. The meals are of high quality, and the chefs are very good regards to the flavours and varieties provided. An atmosphere of stimulating entertainment is evident to prevent boredom - much appreciated. The support of all branches of the staff has gratefully aided me during my stay. Thank you all.

Mum went to her grandaughter's wedding on Saturday 4th November.
All the staff pulled out all the stops to get Mum ready for the big day.
She got her hair and makeup and nails done.
Taxi with one of the staff to the venue. This particular staff member was so good for the whole day.

Mum had a great day.

My dad's time in The Birches was not very long as he was rehabilitating after a spell in hospital. He experienced good care and attentive treatment from the staff. Everybody was friendly and cheerful throughout his stay. There was an outbreak of covid during his visit, which limited mobility around the home, but this was managed very well. The food was good.

What would you say makes a good manager? Someone who is dedicated. Someone who will do all sorts of jobs. Someone who won't leave until everyone is safe and secure. We have that manager.

Overall, my dad has a very positive experience living at The Birches. He is well looked after and enjoys a good relationship with the staff. I have found the staff to be very caring and always try to understand my dad's needs. He especially enjoys trips in the minibus and sitting in the garden in the sun. They are managing the Covid pandemic very well, and I have confidence in their ability to keep my dad safe. The home s very well managed to achieve high standards, and at the same time, be a friend and homely environment for residents.

My mom has resided here since August 2019, when we agreed she needed 24-hour care. Since then, Mom has had no medical or care issues, and I know she is well cared for. Covid was difficult for every care home, but The Birches tried hard to facilitate visits throughout all the rule changes. I have peace of mind with Mum being here and visit every week. Thank you, Birches staff; you're great!

The manager and staff are always polite and proactive no matter how busy they are, they are always patient. As I live a long distance away from the home visits are not as often as I would like, but I know that my mum is being very well looked after. It was mums 90th birthday last week and the staff made such a special effort to make her feel appreciated. We are very pleased with the standard of care provided.
