Welcome to Bridgeside Lodge Care Home in Islington. Situated by the beautiful Regent’s Canal, the luxurious modern gated property offers 24-hour care for those between the ages of 18 and 65. They provide specialist care for younger people with neurological and spinal conditions, and elderly people with or without Dementia. They are blessed with a long-serving team of carers, and partner therapists who deliver high-quality, person-centred care within a homely environment.

The purpose-built home comprises 64 single bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities. They encourage residents to furnish their new surroundings with familiar pieces of furniture and personal possessions to make them feel truly at home. While the bedrooms provide a tranquil area to rest and relax, the bright and attractive communal day rooms offer residents the opportunity to catch up with friends, enjoy one of the home's visiting entertainers or simply recline in front of their favourite films.

At Bridgeside Lodge, they encourage residents to take part in a range of engaging activities based on their lifestyle needs and preferences. Many of their activities take place within the home environment and include arts/crafts, quiz nights and musical evenings. In the summer, they host garden parties and barbecues on their riverside terrace. They empower individuals to enjoy those everyday routines they cherish, whether that’s having a salon blow-dry and manicure or keeping up to date with their favourite football team. All are encouraged and available. Residents enjoy the wider community, with a thriving high street, independent shops and local park all within a short distance.

The home's professional catering team delivers nutritionally balanced meals that are appealing to residents. Their professional food suppliers specialise in delivering high-quality food designed specifically for the healthcare sector.

This is an exceptional care home. The staff are wonderful, professional, highly skilled, compassionate and deeply caring This goes to the leadership of Bridgeside Lodge which is inspiring and means that staff are motivated to provide an excellent service despite the challenges of covid and long hours.
The care my mother received here until her death was everything we could have hoped for.

The care in Bridgeside Lodge is excellent in every way. My relative is always happy, well dressed, and clean when we visit. She enjoys the food. I have been inside the care home and felt a real sense of calm, all the staff are very caring, pleasant and show real empathy towards residents. The manager
has always been very supportive, patient and reassuring when we’ve needed to speak with her. I also find her and another member of staff very enthusiastic and personable. I am so happy for my relative.

My husband has been a resident at Bridgeside Lodge for ten months most of the time during the Covid lockdown, a challenging time for care homes. During this time he has been helped to adjust to his new, very and strange to him, surroundings. Through this time he has been treated with courtesy, kindness,
good humour, and affection by the staff. Every opportunity to treat him as an individual has been taken and attempts made to engage him in activities. The garden and the balconies on each floor look onto the Regents Canal connecting the home with the local community and the outside world.

The care home is welcoming. I felt comfortable with the staff, the manager and the service users. The place is secure, they take time with them and the staff are so good at caring for the residents. For the first time going to a care home without smelling like a care home. I will recommend the place

I feel supported by the staff. They are kind and friendly. The staff are passionate and nothing is a big ask for them. Management is always available and ready to help. Spent two weeks at Bridgeside Lodge for a school placement. Compared to care homes I have seen, Bridgeside Lodge rates outstanding in all areas of care and cleanliness. My time learning from the RNA on first floor, as well as working along with staff there was truly informative and a delight. Management
and the team members are all industrious, bubbly, friendly and treat all residents with the dignity and attention of true professionals. I will have no reservations recommending Bridgeside Lodge as a home for loved ones or even as a place of employment.

My sister lasted 5 days in this home. She was so distressed at the lack of care, behaviour of staff towards her and each other by Friday her mental wellbeing had deteriorated causing us and the palliative nurse concern that we decided to move her out asap. My sister wept like a child when told she had
to stay until Monday. During the 5 days she was taken out of her small room for one and a half hours in total. Although staff promised to put a plan in place over the weekend nothing happened. My sister said the staff were bad-tempered when she called them. One morning at 8.30 staff were heard arguing and threatening to beat each other up. When we asked about this they claimed my sister must have heard the argument in the street. This is not feasible.
Today l have queried my high phone bill. I was told it was due to calls l made to Bridgeside, which are apparently charged at a premium 0844 number even when you dial the local code 0207, costing me £30 extra for 8 calls! I am not happy.

We welcome all feedback as this allows us to learn lessons, review ways of working and reduce potential repetition. We have conducted a thorough investigation and responded with detailed findings. Despite a virtual tour of the home being conducted and the placement accepted, we agree that the resident expressed a wish to move almost immediately on arrival. We worked as swiftly as possible and in partnership with external professionals to facilitate a move to alternative accommodation. We recognise the difficulties many people experience when having to undergo a period of self-isolation when first moving into a care home, which is sadly necessary given the current government guidance concerning pandemic management. We provided a detailed response regarding the altercation that we accept occurred outside the home and apologised that we did not control this isolated noise from the street and have made adjustments to avoid any future occurrence.

A fantastic care home with exceptional levels of care. The staff has demonstrated total commitment to keeping my partner safe throughout this dreadful COVID-19 pandemic and this has been a great comfort to myself and my family. All the staff is kind, caring, and extremely professional at all times.
They do their very best to keep my partner comfortable and happy and they are a credit to their profession.

Choosing a nursing home for my mother during lockdown following a life-changing stroke was an unbearable thought, but Bridgeside Lodge made the transition as easy as possible and have been so reassuring. I can't speak highly enough of the manager who has shown great kindness, empathy and good common
sense, alongside a wealth of invaluable experience.
My mother has a lovely room overlooking the canal and seems content. I speak to my mother and staff daily, they are always helpful and considerate, paying attention to my mother's individual needs. They always dress her with care for garden visits which I very much appreciate. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bridgeside Lodge.

Bridgeside Lodge was the perfect place for my father, and I am incredibly grateful for the unfailing kindness and care he received during his time there. Every member of staff was knowledgeable, calm, committed to excellence, and very friendly. All the residents were treated with gentleness and genuine
consideration, regardless of how challenging their behaviour. My father was always sensitive to his surroundings, and his mood and outlook improved considerably almost as soon as he arrived at Bridgeside. This was remarkable, given his advanced Alzheimers: we were concerned that the move would distress him, but in fact, it cheered him up! We were also impressed by the fact that everyone spoke well of Bridgeside and its staff, from the local GP surgery to the local florist. When my father died of natural causes aged 90, the staff were unbelievably kind, efficient and helpful at that difficult time. We felt he and we, were brilliantly taken care of and we're so glad that this was his last home.

I could not recommend Bridgeside Lodge more highly. My Aunt was a resident for 3 years and died there peacefully in August this year. She was treated, as an ex-nurse herself, with the utmost respect and dignity right to the end. The manager is a force of nature and her staff follow in her footsteps.
I am lucky still to visit my Stepmother who is a very happy resident.
