My husband has been in Marlborough Court for a year now and seems settled. I have found the staff very helpful and approachable. I have seen my husband interact with the carers, which is nice to see.
All in all, I am quite satisfied with the care my husband is receiving.

A safe and high-level comfort nursing home. My husband has lived in this fabulous home for almost a year and has nothing but praise and gratitude for the wonderful staff team who look after him in this beautiful surroundings.
No problem or small request is ignored, and I have a good night's sleep
knowing he is looked after 24/7.
If you are facing the tough decision about care for a relative or friend, then look no further.

My mum has been in this care home for 5 weeks. In that time, she has not been cared for properly. The management is incredibly poor and simply do not care. She has had 3 'falls' (that we know of). The last one nobody notified me for 12 hours! My mum's personal needs are not attended to regularly enough.
She never looks like her hair is brushed. Her breath always smells and I do not believe her teeth are being cleaned regularly. Incontinence pads have been left lying around. Her nails are dirty. Staff sit on their phone. To cap it all her wedding ring was "lost". Avoid this place!

My husband has advanced vascular dementia and Alzheimer's. The care he has received has been outstanding - one-to-one 24/7. The staff have also been incredibly supportive of me as I have come to terms with his rapid deterioration and need for full-time care. The manager is very efficient and caring
towards residents and relatives and is well respected by staff.

We arrived at the care home after my husband had been taken ahead of us from hospital. After 3 days he was a very changed man, I had not seen him happy since February 2022. It made the whole family happy. The carers and the manager were very friendly and caring. I can't tell the difference it makes
to us. Every day there is laughter to be heard throughout the care home. A very big thank you for our peace of mind.

I have found the staff very caring, helpful and friendly. The home is warm, clean and welcoming. The rooms could be larger, but the view from the lounge is very good. Management are very helpful and friendly and I would highly recommend this care home. The nursing staff are also very informative.

The staff are all so friendly. Everyone makes an effort to say hello when they go past my mum's room and everyone checks to make sure she is as comfortable as she can be. In one f her first nights, the nurse just sat and held her hand, which gave her a lot of comfort.

My mother has been a resident for several years now. I am very happy with her care at the home. The staff treat her with dignity and understand her needs and personality. It has been a difficult year during the pandemic but the staff have been excellent at keeping me informed when I have been unable
to visit. I would happily recommend this home to others. I chose it on the recommendation from someone else and have not been disappointed.

I think the care side of the home is very good. Cannot fault them. The problems we have is when we ring. We cant get through. I know people are busy. I think they should have a receptionist on the front desk and whenever I ask to speak to a Manager, they are always busy or in a meeting. I know they
are busy also, but we have to keep ringing back.

Management/care staff provide an overall good service with management always prepared to listen should I have any concerns regarding Mum's wellbeing. The implementation of a senior member of the care team being responsible for one floor seems to have made the point of contact for the family much easier
with regard to any concerns we may have.

The staff and management at Marlborough are very good. My dad loves going to the home and he is treated with respect and supported with his needs. The second-floor team are also very good and there are lots of activities. I visited Dad many times and saw the loving care by some of the care workers and
nurses who were prompting him to eat and making sure he ate his food.

Living overseas I was worrying about mum constantly, but assurances from my sister telling me the high level of care Mum was receiving was so reassuring.

I flew home in time to say goodbye to her and see for myself the love and care Mum was given over the previous 15 months.

Thank you to all

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.619)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.619) out of 10 for Marlborough Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 39 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.619 for Marlborough Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (306 Excellents x 5) + (124 Goods x 4) + (16 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 451 Ratings = 4.619
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Marlborough Court Care Home is based on 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 83 registered maximum number of service users is 16.6, which has been reached with 38 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
