Mum was a resident for 2 years and 10 months. Both my brother and myself were very happy with the care she received during her stay.

I have just 'delivered' my father in law for 2 weeks respite/trial stay. We were welcomed and settled and I was invited to join for lunch. This was delicious and served with care and dignity, staff assisting those not able to feed themselves, showed such kindness, empathy and respect - a clear, mutual and positive regard.

We were shown around with deep care and interest in my father in law. Thank you all for your kindness on day one. I hope it continues.

I was satisfied with my mothers care at Tower Bridge Care Home. The manager at the time my mother was there was very accessible so any concerns would be dealt with swiftly. Some staff were better than others, some were excellent but overall I was happy with mum's care and even with challenging behaviour the staff were patient and dealt with mum fairly and kindly.

The impression I got is that the home is convenient for the needs of my cousin and it's central to her borough, which she is used to.

The staff look friendly and caring. The residents look happy.

The staff at Tower Bridge are, in the vast majority of cases, caring and keen to improve the service.
Some routines seem to inhibit the delivery of a prompt response to the call bell as does the occasional lack of staff.
I accept that the home tries to provide the statutory number but this is significantly short of the number required for the needs of residents and they often have to wait longer than they should to have intimate needs met.
Care staff, office staff, activities team, house keeping, maintenance and management do all they can to make Tower Bridge a home.

Food is variable, though kitchen staff consult and make changes where they can.

Reply from Katie Price, Careline Advisor at Tower Bridge Care Home

The staffing in the home is based on the dependency assessment of each Resident. We respond to the needs of the unit following a dependency review each month. The allocation of staff is reviewed daily by the management team in the home. The deployment of staff duties in the unit is the responsibility of the person in charge and is reviewed on a day to day basis.

I feel the care home are trying to give my cousin the best they can.

However, I feel my cousin is in the wrong place. He is a stroke victim and should be in a place with other stroke victims.

My mother is well cared for in it's widest sense i.e. the homes cleanliness, food, medical checks/medicine dispensing and communication of these is good. Staffing levels are adequate and the relatively new management team have all but eradicated reliance on temporary carers/nursing, which was prevalent earlier in the year and in 2015. One area that continues in my view to be substandard is the degree of "quality time" i.e. one to one time that is spent with individual residents. Activities staff are either part time and/or stretched in terms of record keeping, number of residents they have to attend to. Part of this is likely also to be due to the level of experience of some carers. Overall an improving quality of care is being provided at Tower Bridge.
