Carers are very attentive. Activites co-ordinator very friendly and supportive of family members. Managment appear to be very good and supportive and understanding of all service users needs and family needs. Nurses also appear to be very supportive. Not been using service very long hence the good not excellent, no doubt I will notice the excellence in the next few week. Keep up the good work!

My father was only in here (Ashgrove) for three days until his passing. The kindness and care from all the staff were beyond exceptional.

And all of my family are extremely grateful for you all looking after my father, and made him very comfortable and welcome in his last days.

The staff give first class care to my mum for two and a half years. They made us feel part of their family and they were all part of ours. We couldn't have asked for better care for mum as she lived with Alzheimer's.

I find that when I'm at Ashgrove, the staff are very friendly, welcoming and tend to my mother very well. She is very happy here.

P.s. I have left the value for money blank because I don't know how much it costs here.

I truly think Ashgrove was the best end my mum could have wished for. The carers, nurses, helpers and management could not have done any more to make her last months the best they could be. As a family, we were always treated with respect in a really friendly way. Even when mum was at her lowest, they were always there. Thank you, Ashgrove, from the bottom of my heart.

My dad was transferred to Ashgrove from hospital for end of life care. He was only here for 6 days before he passed away, but in that time, Sandra, Sunshine and the team could not have been more wonderful. They cared for me, and my two sisters, as well as my dad. They treated us with huge love, compassion and kindness, and we will be forever grateful.

My mum was admitted to Ashgrove Care Home from hospital in October 2023 for end of life care. Within a short time Mum was eating and drinking more and sitting in the lounge. Now in August 2025, we have celebrated her 102nd Birthday, thanks to the love and care she has been given by the wonderful Ashgrove family. Thank you.

I was visiting my mother on the 03/05/2025. I went around and looked at pictures for VE Day. I'm not sure who done them, I was amazed at all the effort she put into everything for all the residents. The posters and decorations, both inside and out were second to none. This person is absolutely amazing - thank you.

My husband has been at Ashgrove since early September 2024. It is our first experience of a care home so we are both apprehensive. I must say the staff have been brilliant throughout the process, prior to his admission with home visits, during the admission itself and since he has taken up residency. This has helped enormously to get my husband settled and adjusted to his new surroundings and routine and our anxieties disappeared very quickly. I find all the staff very kind, cheerful and most helpful. They are always happy to help and accommodate to make my husband's experience the best it can be. I am very happy to have found Ashgrove and it already feels like an extended family home.

I attended a lovely Diwali celebration. Great atmosphere, beautiful dancing and delicious food. Residents had a wonderful time, relatives too. Felt like a real family party - just right! Very touched that many staff chose to attend on their time off.

Meet the Team (1)

Lourdes Pascua
Lourdes Pascua Job Title: Home Manager

As a Registered Nurse with 40 years of continuous professional nursing practice, Lourdes has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for residents.

Talking about her career history, Lourdes said:

“I have managed several various-sized care homes, giving me a great experience. Having worked in this setting previously I understand what the day-to-day role involves so I can support my team.”

Lourdes closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home:

“I operate an open-door policy and am approachable, not only to my team but to residents and relatives as well, as ultimately it is their home more than anyone’s. I encourage residents to make their rooms their own, by bringing in meaningful items to help make their room homely.”

When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Lourdes remarked:

“As the Home Manager I believe our residents should be able to live the life they want and be able to be themselves. I enjoy taking on the responsibilities that come with managing a home and I encourage the inclusion of everyone in the home, to create a friendly environment and a great place for us all to live and work.

The care background of HC-One is what stood out to me when joining, as they understand what is involved at the home level and there is a strong support network in place for me and my team to continually develop. I am passionate about seeing my colleagues grow and develop in their roles to be able to provide and offer the best care and environment for our residents.”

Outside of work, Lourdes enjoys spending time with her family and travelling, experiencing different cultures. She also enjoys reading and watching sports, especially tennis.
