My dad has been in Ashgrove since September 2021. I just wanted to say that I was very impressed with the nurse, what a professional kind lady she is. Nothing is too much for her, she goes above and beyond in the role of her job. I'm so very happy that someone like her is taking care of not only my dad but also of all the vulnerable people in her care.

All members of staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They treat residents and visitors with respect. All areas are spotless. There is always a member of staff available and they are very willing to take the time to talk to you. If I ever needed to go into care myself, I would be lucky to come here. Grateful thanks to everybody for looking after my relative.

The BBQ was a nice occasion held in the garden with decorations and music. Everyone looked to be enjoying the occasion, including my mum. One lady also included some singing.

Dad is now nearing the end of his fourth year at Ashgrove and has just deteriorated and started 'end-of-life'. I think lockdown accelerated his demise because of being in his room for his own protection but the care has been absolutely amazing. One thing you notice here at Ashgrove, apart from how wonderful and well-trained everyone is, is that there is such a low turnover of staff. We as a family are very well supported.

I have noticed a great improvement over the last few weeks. Everyone is so kind and friendly, always happy to help, and nothing is too much trouble. I have to mention one member of staff in particular who does a brilliant job with the activities, always takes time to pop in and see us when we visit Mum.

The team of nurses and management are fantastic. The care and attention given to my mother has been incredible. When my mother was ill they dealt with the GP and other medical teams to get her back healing again. Amazing team, thank you.

Thank you to the staff of Ashgrove, you look after my Dad well and you are always friendly, smiling and helpful when I come to visit. You keep me updated regularly by phone which I am grateful for as I live 100 miles away and I can't see my Dad as much as I would want. I feel my Dad is safe and well cared for at Ashgrove.

I'd like to thank the management and staff for the continued care and hard work they provide for my dad. Especially all the effort they put into the residents' Christmas party. I've seen the photos and my dad was smiling and looked very happy. They are always here to help when we visit my dad and everyone always smiles and is very kind and helpful. I can't thank them enough.

Security is good and testing is provided including masks. The site is clean and well maintained. Staff are angels! What they give cannot be measured. So kind and respectful for mum. We cannot thank you enough. Always looking after mum's needs and react brilliantly when mum is poorly and needs medical help or doctors. A superb response where this is the case.

My mother was discharged from hospital straight to Ashgrove. The staff took time to ask us what she liked to eat/drink/music/craft. It's taking a while for my mum to settle, though the staff are doing their best to help her. Today I visited and the nurse gave me an update on her medical requirements as the doctor had visited her. All in all, it's the best place for my mum.

Friendly, helpful staff. Have been able to speak to a nurse or manager/deputy manager on most occasions to get feedback. I feel able to ask any questions I have. Sometimes it is hard to get through on the phone but this has improved lately. Am concerned the physiotherapist hasn't been but staff liaise with the physio department to try to get a visit. The room is a bit basic and the TV is too far away but I think this is still an assessment period.

Reply from Diane Kerwin, Hospital Liaison Team Administrator at Ashgrove Care Home

Thank you for your review and kind comments regarding the staff which I have shared with the team. Due to the Covid pandemic, there is a backlog for physio appointments but the staff Nurse will follow this up. I understand that you are now happy with your newly painted room and the TV being on top of the cupboard.

This is my first time experiencing a member of the family being in a nursing home. My aunt has been at Ashgrove Care Home for a month, and I can honestly say, the members of staff have been extremely helpful and put my and my family's minds at ease. They have made me feel welcome, and nothing ever seems too much trouble when I ask a question. They put my mind at ease knowing my aunt is being well cared for. This, I am very grateful for.

My mum took up residence recently. I found the home in a very clean and well organised environment. The staff and management are extremely courteous, caring, and very professional in their approach to the sick and elderly. Up to now, I have nothing but praise and gratitude for looking after my mum's day-to-day needs.
