My grandma has been brilliantly cared for at this care home. Although there is a language barrier between my grandma and the staff, they still provide her with the care she deserves every day. They have embedded a consistent routine to ensure she is as comfortable as possible. The staff are always supportive,
approachable and welcoming. The management staff have been exceptional towards my grandma and the family.

Since arriving at the home my mother-in-law has thrived and always seems happy and clean and well cared for. She has her hair cut regularly and always looks nice. Staff are friendly and helpful and always keep us informed of any problems which may occur. The home itself is always clean and tidy.

Mum arrived in October 2018 in quite a bad state - mentally and health wise. Since her arrival, she has improved dramatically. She is becoming frailer but we have no concerns about her welfare as she is so well catered for. Mum is much safer in the home and we are very pleased with her care.

We always get a warm welcome when we visit. I don't know whether she recognises us as she has advanced dementia. The food always looks and smells appetising. The staff take a lot of care to ensure that my friend is comfortable and keeps us well informed of her state of health which is often up and down.
I am reassured that the is in the best place that she could be in the circumstances I feel that she is safe, warm and given genuine care and affection. They all meet and greet us and could not do more.

Everyone at Ash Grove Care Home is lovely and welcoming. All the staff are extremely good at caring for and looking after my granddad. Amazing place and I feel happy that my granddad is being looked after well. I can sense that my granddad is content.

I find the home to be welcoming and they are kind and friendly to guests and residents. Taking time to help them to try to meet their needs. The home is well managed and is clean and tidy. Her clothes are now stored and kept better than the last review I wrote. Entertainment and activities could be
more focused towards residents.

Lourdes Pascua

Job Title: Home Manager

As a Registered Nurse with 40 years of continuous professional nursing practice, Lourdes has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for residents.


Talking about her career history, Lourdes said:


“I have managed several various-sized care homes, giving me a great experience. Having worked in this setting previously I understand what the day-to-day role involves so I can support my team.”


Lourdes closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home:


“I operate an open-door policy and am approachable, not only to my team but to residents and relatives as well, as ultimately it is their home more than anyone’s. I encourage residents to make their rooms their own, by bringing in meaningful items to help make their room homely.”


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Lourdes remarked:


“As the Home Manager I believe our residents should be able to live the life they want and be able to be themselves. I enjoy taking on the responsibilities that come with managing a home and I encourage the inclusion of everyone in the home, to create a friendly environment and a great place for us all to live and work.


The care background of HC-One is what stood out to me when joining, as they understand what is involved at the home level and there is a strong support network in place for me and my team to continually develop. I am passionate about seeing my colleagues grow and develop in their roles to be able to provide and offer the best care and environment for our residents.”


Outside of work, Lourdes enjoys spending time with her family and travelling, experiencing different cultures. She also enjoys reading and watching sports, especially tennis.
