Wish the staff would be less evasive when asked difficult questions.

Reply from Clare Sheehan, Careline Advisor at Ashgrove Care Home

Thank you for your overall positive feedback. In relation to your concern raised, I understand the Deputy Manager discussed with you recently the fact that health care assistants are not qualified to answer questions on the medical condition of our Residents and we rely on the expertise of Doctors. If you have any other concerns please contact us at the home during your next visit.

Mother recently passed away and all the staff were brilliant and professional. They all knew my mum so well and helped to keep her safe and clean.

Couldn't fault them at all, especially some of the nurses and all the health care assistants.

My grandma has been brilliantly cared for at this care home. Although there is a language barrier between my grandma and the staff, they still provide her with the care she deserves every day. They have embedded a consistent routine to ensure she is as comfortable as possible. The staff are always supportive, approachable and welcoming. The management staff have been exceptional towards my grandma and the family.

Since arriving at the home my mother-in-law has thrived and always seems happy and clean and well cared for. She has her hair cut regularly and always looks nice. Staff are friendly and helpful and always keep us informed of any problems which may occur. The home itself is always clean and tidy.

Mum arrived in October 2018 in quite a bad state - mentally and health wise. Since her arrival, she has improved dramatically. She is becoming frailer but we have no concerns about her welfare as she is so well catered for. Mum is much safer in the home and we are very pleased with her care.

We always get a warm welcome when we visit. I don't know whether she recognises us as she has advanced dementia. The food always looks and smells appetising. The staff take a lot of care to ensure that my friend is comfortable and keeps us well informed of her state of health which is often up and down. I am reassured that the is in the best place that she could be in the circumstances I feel that she is safe, warm and given genuine care and affection. They all meet and greet us and could not do more.
