Ash Grove care home looked after my brother for over 8 years. He was looked after very well. He was happy there until his death in October 2017. All the staff were kind and friendly. I am glad we chose Ash Grove as his care home.

The care home manager, and all her team should be very proud of the way they all do their work at the home, they are a real credit to the care of the elderly, the dedication of the team shines through, and the home is without doubt in my mind a model for how homes should be run. The continuity of staff
is clearly a testament to great teamwork. My mother in law, always said how kind everyone was, and for her to say that I knew it was true. We have always praised the home to everyone we know and we take great comfort from knowing what good care she received during her stay at the home and the compassionate way her last days were managed. I sincerely hope the team receive this acknowledgement, it is well deserved.

What a lovely afternoon, thank you so much for inviting all our family. Amazing food, great entertainment and hospitality was out of this world. The staff are all so lovely and make you feel so welcome. The birthday cake was a lovely touch too, very nice. Thank you for an amazing time.

My husband has been in this home one year - he is taken good care of and I see him clean and shaved. The room is cleaned. Food presented in a good way and is appetising.


He really needed this care and it is available in this care home.

My friend has been resident at Ash Grove for some months now.
I visit weekly and the services provided seem to be excellent - the building is well designed and comfortable and the staff are always attentive and pleasant.
My only concern is that she does not quite fit in with other Ash Grove residents
- she has a high level of awareness and there is little opportunity for her to make and maintain meaningful relationships within the home.

I visited my relative for the first time since her admission ten days ago and I couldn't believe the change in her.
She was happy and clean and in her day clothes for the first time in months. The staff were very welcoming and I felt so relaxed that we could get her into a lovely home.

We are all pleased with Mum's care. It was lovely to attend her birthday party and know that such events are planned regularly for all the residents.

Thank you so much for a lovely day. Myself and some of my family came to the open day, it was lovely to see mum really enjoying herself too. The food was amazing thanks so much to all of the staff. My mother resided for just over a year at Ash Grove Care home before she passed this February 2017. She was there for end of life care and was looked after well by staff and was treated with compassion and dignity right to the end. We were kept informed of her progress and decline throughout her stay
and found the staff and manager to be helpful, informative and professional. I would recommend Ash Grove for anyone looking to place their elderly relative into care.

Lourdes Pascua

Job Title: Home Manager

As a Registered Nurse with 40 years of continuous professional nursing practice, Lourdes has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for residents.


Talking about her career history, Lourdes said:


“I have managed several various-sized care homes, giving me a great experience. Having worked in this setting previously I understand what the day-to-day role involves so I can support my team.”


Lourdes closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home:


“I operate an open-door policy and am approachable, not only to my team but to residents and relatives as well, as ultimately it is their home more than anyone’s. I encourage residents to make their rooms their own, by bringing in meaningful items to help make their room homely.”


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Lourdes remarked:


“As the Home Manager I believe our residents should be able to live the life they want and be able to be themselves. I enjoy taking on the responsibilities that come with managing a home and I encourage the inclusion of everyone in the home, to create a friendly environment and a great place for us all to live and work.


The care background of HC-One is what stood out to me when joining, as they understand what is involved at the home level and there is a strong support network in place for me and my team to continually develop. I am passionate about seeing my colleagues grow and develop in their roles to be able to provide and offer the best care and environment for our residents.”


Outside of work, Lourdes enjoys spending time with her family and travelling, experiencing different cultures. She also enjoys reading and watching sports, especially tennis.
