The care home is amazing, the staff go above and beyond. My husband has been very poorly, and the care he got was beyond expectation. Not only did he get the care he needed, I was very much supported.

Xmas lunch was very disappointing most of it couldn't be eaten
Tough beef. Dry roast potatoes
burnt pigs in blankets.watery gravy
The overall menu is good but preparation and serving of meals should be overalled ie The veg is always overcooked sausages are served 2 to 3 times a week the fish served on a Friday is mostly all batter every day the meals are only barely warm .This has been discussed many times but it's still the same.
On the occasion day the residents do get a nice meal.
The plastic drinking beakers are very badly stained as well as the desert spoons they are not washed properly and should be bleached or renewed If all the above could be changed the Fountains would be in my view PERFECT

Also the activity ladies go above and beyond for all the residents my rating for those ladies would be a 5 star plus

Thank you for your comments. I was unaware of the issues with Christmas lunch, however this is your experience and I respect that. I would like to have another conversation with you to see where improvements can be made and to go through recent menu changes. I also appreciate your other positive comments and will ensure the activity team receive your compliments. Thank you again.

The staff at the care home provided excellent professional care to my uncle Nazim during his stay there.
From the carer's to the administration staff always helpful and kind.

Many thanks from the Malik family.

The meals are very repetitive and inexpensive, minced meat, sausages and pasta. I have found there is a lack of respect from the laundry room staff, to my husbands
personal belonging, with bleach on dark jogging bottoms with no explanation, also items going missing.

But on the whole the care, I'm happy with.

Iam happy with the care my husband receives at the Fountains, the staff and Management Team are very caring, friendly and approachable and the activities ladies do an excellent job. My husband is treated with respect and dignity and always looks clean and tidy when i visit. My only criticism is that the food is not to a very good standard, on several occasions sausages have been served for breakfast and then again on the same day i.e they are served up as sausage casserol or toad in the hole with sloppy mashed potatoes and overcooked vegetables for the main dinner. The menu's on the table do not always reflect what is being served that day, usually it is something completely different and when served the food is not very hot.

When my wife, Ellen, was discharged from hospital after a ten week stay we as a family were immediately impressed with Fountains first impression was of cleanliness, the whole home is spotless. The care staff on floor two are professional, well trained, very welcoming to my family and other visitors. From the front office staff activity team to catering staff and cleaning staff they have been brilliant. Mustn't forget Claire and Vanessa. Five stars all round.

The fountains is a very welcoming home. All the staff are friendly, professional and caring. You can speak to the office and management anytime and with the nursing staff should you have a concern. My relative has lived at the home for some time now and his care is excellent.

I visit my mum every day at various times and find all staff professional but above that kind and caring. Mum is very happy and settled in quickly which is great for us as a family. When I leave I know she's in good hands .

My father was moved into the Fountains last week after a 2 month stay in hospital
First impressions have been really positive. The home has a lovely welcoming feel and is clean and tidy.
Dads room is a nice size & meets his needs.
Over the last week I can honestly say every member of staff I have met has been lovely, they are approachable and nothing is ever too much trouble. They have shown nothing but a caring and compassionate nature towards my dad who has some complex medical and behavioural issues.
The Management and Office staff are knowledgeable and provided invaluable advice to my family.

Placing Dad into a nursing home was a very difficult decision for our family but knowing he is in such safe hands with the Fountains team has given us reassurance and peace of mind.

Thank you for your kind works. We are happy that he is with us and I know families don't make the decision lightly for their loved one to come to us. I'm glad he is settling and showing us his fun personality.

Words cannot describe the comfort every member of staff has given us, as a family.. Putting our Mum into a care home was the last thing we wanted to do but The Fountains Care Home have made us realise it was the right thing to do. We rest assured that she is well looked after, cared for, feels loved and supported in a clean and well run homely environment.. I will forever feel thankful for the care, good food, encouragement and entertainment supplied by everyone involved.

I feel my mother is as well cared for and as comfortable as she can be in her condition. There are plenty of activities if she feels like taking part and I particularly feel that the outings that she has been on have been very beneficial for her.

My mother has been a resident for 4 years now .
She suffers from severe dementia which requires 1 on 1 care 24 hours .
The staff offer an unbelievable care . They treat my mum so well . With care and dignity .I have absolutely no problem in recommending this wonderful care home , run so so well by Claire and Vanessa .
Believe me when it comes to care , the location , the gardens, the grounds , the rooms are not the most important , the care is, and the care here is exemplary.
Mum was in other homes prior who may have looked better , but could not care for her , so what does that say !

Thank you Claire and Vanessa and all the nurses , carers for the wonderful job you all do x

My mum was only at Fountains 10 days where she died. She slept most of the time and was too frail to leave her room. But I heard activities, etc, and other residents were enjoying themselves. All staff were lovely and caring, and even those you passed in the corridor acknowledged you. When Mum was actively dying, we were all made comfortable at her bedside with tea/coffee and things were explained before and after she died. Well done Fountains!!

Reply from Claire May, Home Manager at The Fountains Care Centre

Thank you for your positive comment. When you are able, could you advise the low-scoring areas, as it is not the standard we aim for. We are glad that we were also able to support her husband and the family on the day of the funeral. As she was only with us for a short time it was lovely to her about her full and wonderful life.
