My sister was transferred to Hayes Cottage from hospital during February - she was noticeably happier immediately she moved in. Whilst the atmosphere was relaxed, the staff were extremely efficient and so so caring. It was a pleasure to go there to visit my sister - always greeted. Absolutely brilliant.

My sister was bedridden so made no use of any facilities.

On arrival, I was met by the staff members who made me feel welcome. They are caring, devoted and nothing is too much trouble. They listen to what is asked, advise and do their very best to make like and our stay pleasant and comfortable.

The nursing home is well and efficiently run blending good practice with kindness and quality care. Day and night staff are excellent, supportive and achieve what they set out to do, quality nursing, emotional and physical support. I bless the day I came here. In spite of my food allergies, they do a great job.

Happy with the care provided to my mum. Information is always forthcoming.

One staff member, in particular, is very helpful and informative. The home could benefit from more people like this young lady.

An excellent room with an ensuite tiled shower/toilet. I have been in this room for two months, but in the nursing home since July 2018. I am personally satisfied with the accommodation, food and activities which includes a trip to Brighton, visit the zoo, special fish and chip luncheon with entertainment, visit to local shopping centre, luncheon in the park, Christmas pantomime. There is a large garden for exercise, a lounge with a library and a large conservatory where voluntary organised games at Bingo, Skittles, ball and balloons are played, including light exercises.

My father spent the last eight weeks of his life at Hayes Cottage and received excellent palliative care in the Primrose Suite. I was extremely happy with the constant care and attention given. My father was treated with dignity and respect and I witnessed the same treatment to other residents at all times.
From entering the building, every staff member was friendly and respectful.

I cannot praise the nurses and care staff highly enough; they do a fantastic job. I am unable to rate the activities or management - no experience of them.

Review from Christine W (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 8 November 2016 Submitted via Website

My mother in law was moved here from the hospital in May 2016. The main problem with the home is communication with the resident's family. There have been numerous problems surrounding this issue. When she arrived the care home seemed like a very caring environment and to a certain extent it still is, but some carers and nurses are below the standard that you would reasonably expect. We have also recently learnt that senior members of staff are leaving, this on top of the departure in September of the homes manager. This is a very worrying development.
