We visit the care home quite often and are always impressed with the staff, they are very caring and treat all residents with dignity. One staff member cheers us up, as well as all the residents.

Lazy uncaring carers with bad attitudes. My father got severe depression during his stay at Heathland Court and due to lateness of getting lasting power of attorney we were unable to move him.

I would never recommend this home to anybody. It should not be called a care home as no care was ever shown in this hell hole.

Systems generally well designed and run by competent, motivated and friendly staff - in difficult circumstances.

I am particularly pleased by the recovery of the resident I visit this must largely be due to excellent care.

My father in law was in the home for just seven weeks but we can honestly say they were the best weeks of his last six months of life. We met some wonderful caring staff in that time and the room that he had was a lovely, bright environment in which he completed his life. Caring for someone on an end of life pathway is hard but the staff always treated him promptly when needed, they spoke kindly to him and were attentive to his needs. For us the staff was the best aspect of all. Bless you for what you did. All of you. It was appreciated

When we found out my mum had to go into a care home as she was end of life we were worried as you hear such awful things about care homes, Heathland Court is absolutely nothing like the stories you hear. The complete opposite, the room Mum was in was very light airy clean and colourful, each and every carer on my mum's floor treated her so lovely, they are so kind and compassionate and very understanding of her needs. They were reassuring to mum and my family and kept us up to date with everything. Sadly my mum has now passed away but I would not hesitate to say to anyone that is thinking about a care home for their loved one that Heathland Court Care Home is a very high standard and they pride themselves on the care and attention they give to the resident to make their stay a happy warm and comfortable environment. I would like to thank all the staff at Heathland Court.

I chose Heathland Court for short-term convalescence after an operation. The team were very flexible in what they could offer, and very accommodating of my needs.
The accommodation is pleasant, with a lovely garden and shared spaces like the dining room and conservatory. My room, which overlooked the garden, was spacious and comfortable, and with an ensuite shower room.
Most importantly, all the staff are very welcoming and approachable, ready to help where they can. There are activities which you can join in where you can meet other residents as well as staff.

I really benefitted from my stay at Heathland Court. I was very well looked after, and would be happy to recommend it.

I would like to share with others who maybe considering Heathlands as an option for a loved one. Our experience as a family found Heathland to be of a high standard. All staff who we came in contact with were very approachable and warm, willing to help and kind. The main focus for us is our mother stated, l feel safe here. She has improved mentally and physically since being a restbite patient. This is reassuring for us all knowing our mother is being looked after safely. Thank you all so much.

The staff and management have been very caring and kind. The care given to my mother has been very good. The nursing, management and reception staff have all been very helpful. As Covid restrictions reduce I look forward to my mother being able to go out more and have more visiting experiences. I would recommend music and singing.

Reply from Alison Horridge, Customer Advisor on behalf of the team at Heathland Court Care Home

Thank you for your feedback. We also look forward to the restrictions being lifted further to allow more contact for our resident's families, it has certainly been a very challenging time. I will pass your comments about the entertainment on to the activities coordinator.

There is a very welcoming attitude from the moment we enter the main door. Staff are usually happy to discuss not only any problems that have arisen (rare!) but also any happy occurrences. There seems to be little in the supply of activities in the mornings apart from television programmes and films. There used to be a selection of suitable matching games and cards that those who are able could choose from those placed on and in a cupboard.

My overall experience of Heathland Court has been very positive. The residents are treated with kindness, care and dignity. Relatives and friends are warmly welcomed. Accommodation is spacious and airy and the shared areas are cosy and comfortable. The staff are supportive and are quick to deal with any concerns. I would like to see more activity therapies for dementia residents, as most of the ones offered are not suitable.

The home is a satisfactory provision. There have been issues regarding clothing where some have been damaged, inappropriate or lost. On occasions, there could be more stimulation and engagement with the resident, our brother. However, the staff ensures that our brother is cared for i.e combing his hair.

Reply from Alison Horridge, Customer Advisor on behalf of the team at Heathland Court Care Home

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are concerned to hear about the issue with clothing, we will certainly look into this further for you to make sure it does not happen again. We will also have a look at our activity provision to see how we can engage with your brother more effectively. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

The care provided to my dad has been outstanding. All the staff have treated my dad with dignity and tenderness. Nothing has been too much trouble for them, and the consideration they have shown my family during this difficult time has gone above and beyond anything I could have excepted from a care home. I cannot thank the nurses, carers and management enough. This has been such a distressing time for us, as our dad is our world. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

The nurse was very helpful in enabling us to see our mother who has end-stage Alzheimer's and who we have been able to see for only 3 x 10 minutes since mid-February. She was clean, well-fed and looked pretty good on the whole. During these difficult and unprecedented times, it is still important for family to connect with dementia patients.

I stayed at Heathland Court for two weeks between coming out of hospital after a major operation and going home. The good parts of my stay were that the staff were friendly and helpful, particularly the senior staff and the weekend staff. Some of the carers could have been more helpful. The weakness as far as I am concerned was the inflexibility of the times of meals and the lunchtime menu. I do not usually have my main meal at lunchtime, and I found these difficult to adjust to.
