we feel my mother had a lovely stay. staff were always friendly and welcoming, whilst assisting my mother where required. Although my mother can take some time to eat, on more than one occasion, food would arrive luke warm / cold. Appreciated staff moving mum into communal areas during the day, as nicer than being left in room however being in attendance during a heat wave was pretty unbearable. there were fans, but think some aircon units are needed

Our dad was a resident at Hill House for the past 14 months, and throughout his time there the staff were absolutely amazing. They treated him with respect, dignity, kindness, and genuine care at all times. Even during the more difficult periods, he was always clean, tidy, comfortable, and peaceful.

We were often present at mealtimes, and whenever Dad was unable to manage on his own, the staff were always there to patiently assist him. His room was consistently clean and well cared for, and we truly had nothing to complain about - only gratitude for the way he was looked after.

Sadly, Dad passed away last weekend, and the nurses and carers on duty did everything they possibly could to make such a difficult time easier for all of us as a family.

We have nothing but positive things to say about Hill House and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for compassionate and professional care for a loved one.

I have just picked my mother up after a week of respite care at Hill House.
The staff were excellent - kind, caring and very helpful. I was also impressed by the preparations before my Mum's visit - they came to her home and seemed very diligent about getting to know her and what care she needed.
While there, Mum enjoyed a range of activities and treats - including fish & chips, an excellent St Patrick's Day party and karaoke.
I cannot fault the care she received. I felt confident that she was well looked after and the staff were also very kind to me when I visited.

Thank you to everyone at Hill House. It is quite hard to hand over the care of a loved one, but you made the experience easier.

My wife spent the last 3 years of her life here. She was not able to stand and had dementia. The staff and management conduct was exemplary. I had complete confidence in the care and safety provided. I found the room always clean and tidy. I was not present at mealtimes, but my son said that the meals were tailored to individual requirements. She was not able to participate in the various activities; however, I did attend 2 BBQ events that were pleasant. One highlight was a visit to the bedroom by a Shetland pony, which was most appreciated. On 3 occasions the lift was not working, which was inconvenient. Afternoon tea was always provided to me and my wife. If at any time I need a care home, I would not hesitate to use Hill House.

The team at Hill House took great care of my mum over three years. Before going into care mum's physical health had deteriorated over time with various symptoms and ailments I thought wouldn't go away. Each one was identified and treated and mum ended up more comfortable and contented than I'd seen her for a long time. The team took time to build rapport with my sister, father and I. I never had any doubt my mum was in the hands of good and professional people, working in a safe and caring culture.

I am the closest friend of a resident at Hill House and travelled more than 13,000 kilometres to see her after more than a decade apart. I arrived with years of worry about her health and emotional wellbeing, but left with complete peace of mind. What I witnessed moved me deeply. Every single member of staff - professionals, carers, support and maintenance workers alike - treats her with genuine warmth, dignity and compassion. The atmosphere is calm, respectful and truly centred on her best interests. Seeing how well she is cared for was one of the most reassuring and emotional experiences of my life. I am profoundly grateful for the exceptional care she receives.

I cannot speak highly enough of Hill House Care Home. A welcoming, warm, friendly & professional. All the staff, without exception, are kind, attentive, passionate about their work and very professional. They treated mum with dignity, respect, love & compassion. I was able to travel abroad knowing that she is being looked after wholeheartedly. Hill House gave me and my family peace of mind, and when we lost mum recently, their support, help, love and assistance were unprecedented.

Hill House has been an unexpected blessing for our family, providing exceptional care for my father in his time of need. The management and therefore the atmosphere among the staff is very positive and professional. The activities co-ordinator organises entertainment that bring joy, the kitchen provides home cooked well thought out dishes that cater for all needs. Most of all these people really do care. Great rooms and my Dad's had a lovely garden view.

My mother was transferred to Hill House from hospital for end-of-life care. This was my first experience of care homes, but whilst not having a benchmark to measure against I can say that my mother was treated with the utmost dignity. The facility is clean, tidy and the staff are excellent and my mother was always made comfortable. We were able to get my mother out into the garden which she loved.
The food was excellent and tailored to my mums likes.
I'd like to pass on my personal thanks to the manger of the home who was very supportive.
The staff and the location made my mothers stay there far more bearable and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

I've not been able to comment on the activities as my mother wasn't able to take part in them, but looking at the activities on the board that I saw, there was plenty to keep the residents occupied.

I am the brother of a resident at Hill House Care Home. In my best opinion I rate Hill House Care Home as one of the best in the business. As the next of kin of a resident, I have been happy and very overwhelmed with the quality of care given to my brother since August 2024. From the moment my Father arrived, both he and our family were treated with respect and dignity. We became part of your family. Every need was met, and you even helped arrange transfer of some of his furniture/belongings to make his room feel like home. There were always plenty of staff on duty and everyone was friendly and approachable. I would not hesitate to recommend Hill House Cre Home, my Father was comfortable and content, and I was able to relax knowing he was safe and being looked after when I wasn't there.

Overall Experience

My sister came to Hill House in January this year with much anticipation and fear of the unknown, as someone with learning disabilities any new transitions can be difficult. The staff especially the manager went above and beyond to settle her in and soon got used to her ways. She wasn't always the easiest of residents but staff soon put her at ease and generally spoilt her rotten. The last month or so as her health deteriorated more and she became more frightened and agitated but this still did not deter the staff from giving her 100% care. Her passing in July was met with so much love, compassion and dignity, which I will truly never forget. If I could give Hill House 100 stars that still would not be enough.

I would like to thank all the staff at Hill House for their outstanding care, compassion and humanity in the care of our late father.
In the difficult times the family faced the staff team at Hill House joined us on that journey and made the remaining weeks of my father's life a time of peace and comfort to him and us.
The dignity, respect and a very human touch you showed my father and the family has left an everlasting since of gratitude and awe in your day to day work with people in your care.

You are truly a wonderful group of people.

Thank you for your outstanding care of my aunt. This care began in December 2020 and ended on June 20th. Not only the care of her as a resident but myself as her next of kin.
The tea and cakes provided as a wake in the dining room were beautiful. A collection of photos relating to her time at Hill House were placed in the room and everyone was warm, kind and sensitive.

Hill House exudes love and treats each person with respect to those who often feel alone and vulnerable at a stage of life few are prepared for.

Having worked as a GP in the area for over 35 years when my aunt came to need nursing care my knowledge of the care provided over the years to many of my patients meant that the decision to ask Hill House to care for her was a no-brainer.
As a family, we were not disappointed. The care and love given to my aunt was exemplary, she perhaps was not the easiest person but the staff learnt her ways and this contributed so much to her experience at Hill House. When she reached 100 all the staff helped us put on a lovely party for her which was very special.

My aunt's passing was made very comfortable, she was always treated with great respect and my family and I will always be grateful.
