My sister came for a six-week trial as she was very against giving up her house. At the end of the six weeks, she decided she didn't want to go back home. She looks a lot better, she has regular showers, clean clothes every day and her hair washed and blow-dried every week. She is having three good meals a day as well as lots of tea and snacks. She is treated with respect and has her dignity back. I would recommend this care home to anyone. Thank you.

As a family, we were very pleased and heartened by the care and compassion shown to our uncle, who sadly passed away after being in your care for two weeks. We found all the staff both professional, understanding and caring. We always felt that they went the extra mile in caring for and nursing our uncle. On behalf of the family, please accept our sincere appreciation and thanks, particularly special thanks to one particular member of staff.

Mum was only with you for a short while, but in that time, your care was beyond our expectations. Not only did you look after Mum with dignity and compassion but we also felt you looked after us in the same way. Thank you.

We chose this care home because of the light spacious, airy rooms and the friendliness of the staff, not only to us but towards each other. I know we were right as whenever any of the staff come in my mom's face lights up with a big smile and they have a great banter between them.

The level of care given by The Hornchurch is of a very high order. Not only is the home spacious and newly refurbished, but scrupulously clean.
Additionally, the care staff are friendly, kind, competent, and approachable. The manager and senior staff are entirely understanding of the client's needs, and the concerns faced by the residents' relatives.
Communication is frequent regarding the clients' welfare, and you are kept well informed.

I feel totally at ease with the level of care and compassion towards my father staying at this delightful facility.

We have found the home to be well run, although there does seem to be a shortage of staff. My husband is well looked after, clean, comfortable and well-fed, although he is very fragile.

In the experience of those members of our family who were able to visit our Mum, it made us realise we had definitely picked the best care home for her needs. The staff could not have been more caring and attentive, not only to her but also to my sister and me at our moment of need, particularly, the carer and the two nurses. Thank you all so very much.

My mum has been in The Hornchurch Care Home for a few years, and I cannot thank the staff enough for everything they have done for my mum. She has been cared for, loved and thoroughly looked after all the time. My mum has been in another couple of care homes which we weren't happy with, and now we are so happy we have chosen this one. Thank you to all the staff that look after my mum.

I have been a resident for 9-months now during the whole Covid lockdown. Activities and visiting have been virtually nil as expected. However, my stay has been comfortable, and I have been well looked after. The staff are generally excellent, in particular, the nurse

on my floor and two of the carers, one of which is also a trained hairdresser, which is very handy.

Mum had been in Hornchurch Care Home (HCH) just over 18 months. What started out good, faded over time. We moved my mum to another room through the noise. She constantly complained about the infestation of mice and at one time she had 3 mouse traps in her room. Main issues are the lack of communication between managers and next of kin. We wished to transfer her to a home out of the borough for her improved wellbeing, which required a clear Covid test completed before she was allowed to transfer. Unfortunately, the test did not come back clear until the Saturday. We were told the test result over the phone, so in the morning arrangements were made to transfer my mum to the new home. When we got to the home they would not admit her as HCH had not sent the proof via email, and she could not be admitted. The staff tried to contact the managers urgently at HCH but, as expected no answer. My mum sat outside in the cold for over an hour and a half due to HCH managers lack of communication.

Thank you for the review, this feedback is allowing us to constantly analyse and improve our services. We wanted to respond to the important points you raise.

We were happy to move the Resident to a new room because the Resident’s family were unhappy with the carpet and wanted a room with patio...

This was my first experience I have had of a care home for a close family member, my dear father.
I have the utmost admiration and respect for every member of staff I had the pleasure of meeting since my father entered the home in March 2019.
The standard of care my father received was second to none. They made him feel like royalty, and we became part of a large family with the residents and relatives in the home.
I have no hesitation in recommending this home to anyone who would like their aged loved ones to be shown genuine love and kindness in their time of need.

My father passed away peacefully in his sleep in the middle of December 2019 and I wish to thank each and every member of staff for making this experience that sadly so many people face today, so much more bearable.

Thank you for the care you gave my dear father-in-law. This care home deserves to be recognised for their diligence, empathy, love and compassion they show to each resident they have. We could not have asked for more. Anyone out there who is looking for a home for their dear elderly parent or relative, please be assured Hornchurch Care Home will take care of them as their own. My father-in-law passed away in his sleep after 8 months of care. All staff please accept our heartfelt thanks for all you do.

All the staff at The Hornchurch (whether management, nurses, carers, entertainment, catering, laundry or maintenance) are lovely and very kind, as well as professional. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they make everyone feel welcome. Whilst parts of the home could do with a fresh coat of paint, we chose the home because of its lovely atmosphere. There are activities every day and special dates and festivals are always celebrated. I would recommend The Hornchurch to everyone requiring nursing home care.
