I don't lose a moments sleep over the care my 94-year-old mother receives. I can see how well looked after she is and the staff seem to genuinely care about the residents.

An exceptional nursing home, with caring and competent staff. Management is equally helpful and supportive. The quality of my father's life and health psychologically and physically has significantly improved since being at Hugh Myddelton House, despite his medical conditions. As a family, my sister

Mum has been a Hugh Myddelton resident since March 2018. During these months of lockdown and the challenges, this in itself has presented to all of us, we as a family (my sister, my brother and I) are very happy with the care provided to our Mum. The nurses and care staff undertake their work in a professional,
compassionate, kind and caring manner and always take time to explain to us how Mum is doing when we call/visit. Both the home administrator and admin assistant are welcoming and friendly on the phone. In particular, our experience of the activities co-ordinator is wonderful. She is doing a tremendous job in keeping our Mum active and stimulated, with a sense of fun too! This is clear to see from photos taken during the activities and from our garden/indoor visits when we see Mum. We are comforted to see Mum is content and settled when we Skype/visit. Everyone is working so hard to keep us all going. All in all, we can see how Mum is well cared for and looked after. Thank you.

My mother has been at Hugh Myddleton House for over 9 years and the ground floor team (particularly the nursing team) look after her so well. She can be quite tricky but over the years, they have changed her drug routine for the better, have got her to get out of her bed and sit in a chair, she even
walks around and chats to people now, which was something she hadn't done for years. Yes, it is expensive but my mother is safe, well cared for and content so I can't ask for anything else.

Currently in the process of rectifying issues caused by actions by the manager ignoring their own terms and conditions, which allowed the input of people that are not next of kin listed with themselves. This to me is a serious safeguarding issue, which will be followed up once a full investigation is
completed. Because of this, and a number of smaller issues over the years, I would not recommend this care home to anyone.

I’m very happy with the care provided to my husband. The nursing staff look after him very well which is a comfort to my family and I. My husband seems very settled and happy. It has been hard for us all not being able to visit during the pandemic and he has coped quite well not seeing us, but we have
seen him in the last couple of weeks and it was lovely to see him.

My Mum has been a resident here for over 4 months. During this time I have found the home to be very clean, well maintained and the food to be very good and nutritionally well balanced. The staff across all borders from reception, to carers and chefs etc. are all exceptionally good. They are accommodating,
compassionate people. My Mum is very well looked after and we as a family are happy our Mum is in safe hands.

I feel the staff require training regarding being organised, especially as papers went missing in my father's folder. Staff should not make stories when they don't know the answers as I had some confused answers contradicting themselves.
Also, some of his clothing went missing.
I expected more professional
service after paying private service which was expensive.

Hugh Myddleton House have done a fantastic job caring for my uncle. The staff always treat the patients with dignity and respect, even in difficult and distressing circumstances. My uncle always expressed how much he enjoyed the food and dining experience when well enough to visit the dining room.

My dad was only resident at Hugh Myddelton for a very short while but I am so thankful that he spent his final days at a home so filled with love and care.
From pre-admission until the end of his life my dad was treated with kindness and compassion, and the whole family were cared for and supported
at the end of his life.

I have found my stay comfortable and friendly. The staff could not be more helpful. It would be bettered only by having more staff on duty each day. Medical care is 1st class. Hospitals and specialists are called in to assist when they feel the need the food is very good and varied, allowing for diets.
Requests are met with if nothing on the menu is liked.

My name is Jade Shea, I will oversee the running of the 48-bed care home and will be responsible for a team of 70 staff. Prior to starting in this position as a General Manager at Hugh Myddelton, I had 17 years of experience in a care setting. I have been a Care Home Manager for 12 years specialising in nursing care, living with dementia and elderly frail residents. I have a nursing background and have completed my Leadership and management in health and social care. Caring is innate to me and my work ethos is to deliver a high-quality care service and to always be mindful of my workforce to be working as a team in order to progress.

Joining the Team at Hugh Myddelton as a General Manager, I felt welcome by everyone.

Hugh Myddelton has a warmth and good atmosphere. I enjoyed meeting and getting to know the team and the residents. I’m looking forward to managing this home continuing to provide high-quality care and being part of the community.
