All the staff were welcoming and friendly. This was my first visit and it was encouraging. There seems to be a lot of activities and I would hope that everybody who is able to, participates. The only concern was the occasional and intense smell of cigarette smoke in the corridor, immediately next to
his room.

Overall the standard is good to very good, with a manager who works hard to maintain a high standard, as do the majority of the care staff who work very hard to complete the daily tasks. The dementia floor struggles to feed 19 residents with 4 care staff and 1 nurse and rely on help from other floors
and managers. One to one for two residents is now helping the situation. The auxiliary staff are also helpful.

All the staff at Hugh Myddleton are helpful friendly and welcoming. Nurses and care assistants were professional, experienced and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. The building is purpose built and access with a wheelchair is not a problem, the rooms are well equipped and well maintained.

I am so pleased and happy to know my husband is in safe hands. I could not wish for a better place for him. Nurses and care staff are of very good standard and their knowledge of caring is just wonderful. The awareness of medical needs is 1st class. The manager is at hand at all times. The home is a

My husband who has Alzheimer's and is confused to a wheelchair is happy at the Hugh Myddelton House Care Centre. The staff are very caring and the food is excellent. Occasionally things get lost e.g pyjamas, hearing aids, but overall I am very satisfied with the care his is getting and I would and have

My brother in law has settled in the home very well and is very happy. He is being well looked after especially by the nurses on the day shift. He has found the food very nice and the chef has been very helpful making his meals easy to eat.

It is a huge relief for us to know that our father is "safe" 24/7 while we continue to work and care for our families.
Staff are kind and caring and go the extra mile for dad and have become like family to him.
The home has a community feel and although staff are extremely busy, they also have time
for us. I have and will continue to recommend this home to friends and family.

I was extremely concerned when I was told that my mother was too immobile to be able to live in her own home again. I felt that she would never be happy elsewhere. All this concern has gone since my Mum moved into Hugh Myddelton House Care Centre. She is eating again and laughing again, the nurses and
carers treat her with concern, dignity and love, I could ask for no more. The home feels truly like a home, and although we are real newcomers, we have been welcomed with open arms.

My sister resided at Barchester Hugh Myddelton House since 2004 to 2017.
The staff there have looked after her very well.
We were all like a family.
The current manager is excellent, as are his staff, from nurses, carers, house-keeping, domestic, excellent chefs and warm, friendly and helpful reception
and office staff.

The nursing and care staff are professional in every way - kind, considerate and informative. My mother conveys positive feedback frequently. Although confined to her room mostly, we find that we are always made to feel welcome at all events.

This purpose built modern care home is well furnished, bright and clean. The staff are very caring. The food is good. There are activities for those who are able to participate. Like most care homes/hospitals, they don't always have enough staff, so the nurses and carers are very busy.

The home cared for my father from start on 7th July 2015 until has passing on Friday 12th August 2016. He was 102 and 10 months! He was in a poorly state on his arrival but if it wasn't for the excellent care and nursing he wouldn't have survived so long. All the staff loved my father, he was cared
for, nursed and clean! Such a worry when you are leaving a loved one with strangers but we had total peace of mind with leaving him at Barchester Hugh Myddelton House. We can't thank them enough.

Prior to starting in this position as a General Manager at Hugh Myddelton, I had 17 years of experience in a care setting. I have been a Care Home Manager for 12 years specialising in nursing care, living with dementia and elderly frail residents. I have a nursing background and have completed my Leadership and management in health and social care. Caring is innate to me and my work ethos is to deliver a high-quality care service and to always be mindful of my workforce to be working as a team in order to progress.

Joining the Team at Hugh Myddelton as a General Manager, I felt welcome by everyone.

Hugh Myddelton has a warmth and good atmosphere. I enjoyed meeting and getting to know the team and the residents. I’m looking forward to managing this home continuing to provide high-quality care and being part of the community.
