Kingston Care Home recommended by placement officer at St Georges Hospital. Viewed 9 or 10 other homes in the area my sister loves and Kingston was the only one with nurses having mental health qualifications. Really pleased we chose Kingston. Not the poshest or upmarket but find the staff and nurses really caring towards my sister always keeping me informed of issues promptly. A good location for public transport and local shops for essential shopping. Thank you.

Our family was very happy with the compassionate care our elderly relative received for the last 4 months of his life. The staff are very friendly. The professional nurses are excellent and communicated well with us at all times. We felt very confident with the care that he was receiving.

I cannot rate this care home highly enough. The staff are wonderful: attentive, kind, caring, reassuring and professional. The support for my mother, who comes to visit my father virtually every day, is incredible. She is so secure in the knowledge that he is well cared for and that she is informed of any changes or GP visits which is so essential. Communication is excellent. The food is always well presented even though it is all pureed - the room is spotless and the atmosphere welcoming and calm. Thank you so much.

My mum is being well looked after by very caring staff despite sometimes being under extreme pressure when staff levels are low. This does not affect their attention to residents.

The home is well run and is clean, quite spacious and nicely decorated. It has a particularly good, friendly atmosphere. The nurses and carers provide a first-rate professional quality of care. They are warm, patient, proactive, and are always pleased to help. There is an excellent provision of entertainments/activities for those who wish to take part. I am so glad to have chosen this home for my mother.

My wife has now been at Kingston Care Home for almost one and a half years and overall I am very impressed with all aspects of the care provided.
It is fortunate the premises have an efficient purpose built layout on 3 independent floors.

However, the most important aspect is the staff who all do a great job particularly the nurses and carers who look after the residents so well.

The overall care is good. the staff are friendly and helpful.

On a negative note, there have been times when it has not had the right amount of carers on the floor which does affect the care provided to the residents and the cleanliness of the home.

Having said that, my overall judgement of the home is good.

I have been visiting Kingston Care Home for over 4 years first with my father and now with my mother. I have always found the staff friendly and caring. I would recommend this home to anyone in need of such care. I visit 5 evenings a week and they are always quick to remedy any issues that may arise.

A purpose built care home that is practical and spacious.
The floors are artificially labelled as the 3rd floor is ‘Dementia’ and lower 2 for ‘Care of the Elderly’ many have dementia too!!
Most carers are pleasant and capable. Nurses on each floor (mainly paperwork!).

Good food and improving activities.

Alex Tiexeira
Alex TiexeiraJob Title:Home Manager

Coming from Portugal, a country renowned for its care for the elderly, Alex found their calling in the UK.

Their career journey spans from Scotland to London, beginning as a Registered Nurse at Colinton Care Home in Edinburgh and later at Uplands Care Home in Streatham. Now, as Home Manager at Kingston, they make a positive impact on residents and the team.

Alex's key to success is getting to know residents and the team, and fostering happiness. They maintain an open-door policy and actively assist the team, frequently seen in uniform.

Beyond work, they love fashion, shopping, and experimenting with new looks.

Their proudest achievement outside work is completing a nursing degree while juggling a part-time job.

Alex emphasises the importance of a caring "family" environment in care homes. Their advice for those seeking the right care home is to follow their instincts and look for inclusion and support in the home's atmosphere, whether as a resident, team member, or family.
