My husband received excellent care and nursing from everyone at Kingston Care. As my husband was at end of life, we, as a family, were so looked after. I would recommend Kingston Care to anyone having to look for care and nursing for their loved one.

The food is lovely here, very good choice. I love the activities here too and meeting all the other residents. The care team, nurses, domestics, admin, receptionist and management are all excellent. My mother had a lovely last 7 years living at the Kingston Care Home. They were happy years being cared for by wonderfully dedicated, caring and respectful carers. I cannot fault the care she received during her long stay at the home and everybody was so kind to my elderly step-father, who visited on a regular basis.

I would like to say a big thank you to everybody at the home, especially over the last two difficult years of covid.

Our family member was made welcome straight away by this excellent, caring team. How lucky we were to have found them at Kingston Care Home. His medications were handled and he was encouraged, when possible, to enjoy times with others. He gained an understanding of his limitations but was always treated with kindness, consideration and patience. Communication with the family was also great. We can't thank the team enough!

My aunt suffered a major stroke in October 2018 and needed a lot of support during her stay at the care home. Her physical needs were met very efficiently, and she was given every encouragement to participate in creative activities and to maintain and improve her mobility.

During the covid pandemic, every effort was made to maintain contact between the care home residents and their loved ones using emails and modern technology. The support team were very innovative in the pastimes and entertainments they prepared for the residents so the environment was uplifting and engaging.

Overall Experience

During the summer of 2020 we were faced with the sad reality of needing to place my mum in a care home, due to complex nursing needs and frailty. Kingston Care Home provided my mum with a place and as soon as we met and spoke to the staff, we knew she would be looked after. All of the staff were amazing from management to domestic and my mum was so happy. She was never lonely, even during COVID restrictions, staff always popped in and out for a chat. The kind chef and his team always made sure that her dietary needs were met. Sadly my mum became gravely ill in September, during this time my mum and our family were treated with the utmost respect right up to the time of saying goodbye. Thank you so much.

We are so sorry to hear about your mum, but pleased you felt she received great care and hope that her time at Kingston did see some friendships flourish, especially with the care team. If there is anything more we can do, please do not hesitate to reach out.

My mother recently passed away at Kingston Care Home (7th Oct) and I just need to say how amazing this care home is. My mum was admitted into the care home in January 2021. She was admitted via the hospital fast track and as a family, we had great reservations regarding her being in any care home. However, I can honestly say we couldn’t have asked for a better place for her to be in, they were so kind and caring to our mother and always kept us up-to-date with everything going on with her. Nothing was too much trouble! We cannot thank them enough for making the last 10 months of our mum's life what it was. Even in the last few days of her life, they accommodated us as a family, being there if we needed anything right until the end. They showed true empathy and sympathy when the end came for her and we feel they genuinely cared. So once again I will say on behalf of our family - thank you so much Kingston Care Home, an absolute gem of a place.

Poor experience, my stepfather received terrible care in your home. He resided with you for twelve weeks and was taken to hospital via an ambulance and was placed in high dependency and sadly passed away. I feel your staff are very unqualified and need to be overlooked more carefully. No care plan was ever shown to our family and the management team are working like dust. One minute there was a manager, then they left.

This care home is faultless in every way. The carers, nurses, doctors and administrators work tirelessly to give their residents the very best care in their starlight years, nothing is too much trouble no matter what is needed it is done in a flash and if needed in an emergency, an earthquake happens and it's sorted. The organisation is faultless I trust this home/staff to do a job which I no longer could do. And my resident is very happy contented and being kept alive. Dedication by angels who put others first in this very trying time.

Alex Tiexeira
Alex TiexeiraJob Title:Home Manager

Coming from Portugal, a country renowned for its care for the elderly, Alex found their calling in the UK.

Their career journey spans from Scotland to London, beginning as a Registered Nurse at Colinton Care Home in Edinburgh and later at Uplands Care Home in Streatham. Now, as Home Manager at Kingston, they make a positive impact on residents and the team.

Alex's key to success is getting to know residents and the team, and fostering happiness. They maintain an open-door policy and actively assist the team, frequently seen in uniform.

Beyond work, they love fashion, shopping, and experimenting with new looks.

Their proudest achievement outside work is completing a nursing degree while juggling a part-time job.

Alex emphasises the importance of a caring "family" environment in care homes. Their advice for those seeking the right care home is to follow their instincts and look for inclusion and support in the home's atmosphere, whether as a resident, team member, or family.
