Barchester Lynde House Care Home makes the most of pleasant grounds, located by the Thames and with wonderful views, and a versatile interior to provide top quality nursing and residential care, with professionals available round-the-clock and also skilled in care and support for physical disabilities and dementia.

A committed team work hard to ensure that all provision is tailored to the individual, while allowing them to make the most of a relaxed and homely atmosphere.

My mother's last few weeks were dealt with great care and empathy. The staff could not have done more to make Mum comfortable and stress-free. They also kept us informed of what was happening. I cannot praise the staff enough. The home is lovely - we loved sitting in the garden with our tea and cake!

My husband has severe Alzheimers, diagnosed in 2002. He can be difficult sometimes as he does not understand what staff are doing when they are caring for him. All members of staff are very kind, speak to him very kindly and treat him gently. He will have been in there 4 years in August. I am delighted
to say we are both very lucky to have discovered Lynde House. We could not have received better care anywhere else.

My mum is receiving outstanding care at Lynde House. The staff are incredibly supportive and friendly. It is a big step putting a loved one into care. The environment at Lynde House has made this so much easier for me and my mum. I would not hesitate to recommend Lynde House.

Lynde House looked after my wife who died in the home.
All of the staff treated her with loving care and did everything possible to make her as comfortable as possible.
They were also very kind and considerate towards me, her husband. I have nothing but praise for the staff who cared for her.

My mother lived at Lynde House for the last 8 months of her life. She had stayed there before for short periods of convalescence/respite and had been happy. Her final stay started as respite following a spell in hospital, but she later decided that she wanted to move in permanently.


She always felt

well cared for and looked after. She particularly liked the food! The staff were professional but friendly and genuinely caring. As my mother became frailer, the staff adapted their care to her needs. They were assiduous in keeping me informed about her health.


I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lynde House to anyone with a family member who needs full-time care.

I write this following the recent death of my father who spent his last three years at Lynde house, bed bound most of the time. Previously, both my mother and my aunt had ended their days there. My family and I cannot thank Lynd enough, or its staff who, throughout his stay, gave Dad outstanding care
and kindness in every respect. Dad's frequent and varied visitors were all of the same view of the wonderful care shown to him.

I have lived in Lynde House for 11 months, from June 2017. I've loved being here. The staff are very kind and caring, the building is comfortable and well maintained, and the gardens are lovely. And the food is excellent.

I hold a Lasting Power of Attorney for a dear family friend. I approached Lynde House (LH) over a year ago on his behalf. My friend was in a very poor state following his discharge from a six month hospital stay. He was sadly medically diagnosed as having lost capacity to make decisions for himself.
He was originally hospitalised for pneumonia and has advanced Parkinson's Disease.
My friend has flourished since his admission to LH, is living a fulfilling, enjoyable life and has regained his old loving personality and zest for life. He has regained full capacity and is now really living whereas before, he was sadly existing.
The treatment and care extended by LH has been truly transformative. All the Staff I have met are truly caring and professional. I am a regular visitor (at least once a week) and I have never seen anything out of place. I believe LH were instrumental in saving my friends life - and then they gave him a real reason to live. I cannot recommend LH highly enough.

Lynde House is very special because it looks after people with a variety of mental and physical problems.
When you say "thank you" the staff answer "you're welcome".
The patient is grateful and is told that the staff welcome the opportunity to help and deal with his or her need or predicament.
In
the 17 weeks I have been at Lynde House, I have met no impatience but devoted and kind care.
The staff are cheerful and call each patient by Christian name as an individual.

My stay was for one week over Christmas. The food and drink I only had breakfast at Lynde House other times I ate with the family (breakfast very good)

I was very impressed and grateful for the invariable kindness, friendliness and willingness to help from ALL the staff in this house. I particularly liked the elegant dining room (more like a hotel than an institution). My room was comfortable with all the essentials, but no provision for a visitor
(eg chair). I was less impressed by the state of the room. A superficial cleaning was done every day but my towels were not changed in over four weeks and during bed making, I had to ask for the bottom sheet to be smoothed. Maybe this was because I was there only temporarily. Generally, I feel well cared for and comfortable.

My stay was enjoyable. The food looked beautifully and well presented, activities were plentiful, personal care was excellent and I was treated with respect.
The accommodation and grounds were easily accessible. Planned days out were provided including wheel chair usage.

My mother went to Lynde House Care Home in Twickenham in April. From the day she went in all the staff were so kind and caring. They looked after her so well. They also took the time to make sure I was happy with mum's care. Although mum was receiving end of life care they took time to make sure she
looked nice even painting her nails she was thrilled with this as she liked her nails to look nice. I have no hesitation in recommending Lynde House Care Home.

Alison McIntosh

As the Registered Manager, I am responsible for the overall running of Lynde House and assisted in this by a great team of staff.


Although from Scotland, I have lived in Richmond for over 30 years. My career has been in two stages; hospital management where I spent almost 26 years working in acute hospitals including Kingston and the West Middlesex Hospitals and Care Home Management at Lynde House where I have been since 2011.


I have had a long interest and involvement in organising and providing services to older people and I have been fortunate enough to put my experience to good use at Lynde House where we continue to strive for improvement in everything we offer and provide for our residents. We consistently achieve great feedback from residents and relatives on the care and services offered, a significant aspect to this being our low staff turnover and the lovely environment both inside the home itself and the grounds in which it is situated.

Job Title: Deputy manager Joined: 2014

Hello, my name is Smita and I am the Deputy Manager at Lynde House. I started my career at Lynde as a Registered Nurse back in 2014, I was promoted to Unit Manager and finally Deputy Manager. My role is to ensure that our residents receive the highest standard of care while taking a person-centred approach. I offer support and guidance to all Nurses and carers and work closely with external healthcare professionals. I am also the dementia Champion here at Lynde, I have a great passion for the welfare of the resident's mental health and have been the force behind the success of Namaste Therapy here at Lynde.”

Ridel Francisco

Job Title: Unit Manager Joined: 2005

Ridel is a qualified nurse and has been a dedicated member of the Lynde House team since 2005. He was named as the Divisional Nurse of the Year in the 2018 Barchester Care Awards, National Nurse of the Year at the Great British Care Awards and recently the Dementia Nurse Award 2025.


Ridel is known to exercise his vocal cords with a bit of singing, much to the delight of the residents and staff.

Emma is a qualified Nurse/Unit manager here and has worked at Lynde House for 14 years. Emma was Barchester Nurse of the Year in 2016 and for good reason, as she is kind, compassionate and caring to say the least!

Ken is our night manager so he is not seen too often during the working day. He is also our Learning and Development lead for our home.

I have worked at Lynde House since 2010, when I started as a care assistant. In 2011, I was given the opportunity to lead the social activities programme in our home. Within my first year, I was honoured with being shortlisted at the National Barchester Awards in the category of Activities Coordinator of the Year and also won with my team of residents and local school pupils the "Barchester In Bloom best Flower display*.
Today I have a small team who work to ensure our social engagement programmes meet the desires and wishes of residents. I also coordinate the recruitment of volunteers to the home.


I successfully completed my Napa (National Association of Providers of Activities) qualification to level 3. Gitana and her team are excellent at planning and introducing new hobbies, activities and events for our residents to enjoy on a daily basis.

Karen Brooker began her journey with us in 2022 as a General Assistant. Through her dedication, strong work ethic, and commitment to high standards, she earned a promotion to Head of Housekeeping on 1st January 2024. She strives to maintain a clean, welcoming, and well-organised environment for both residents and staff. In addition to managing the housekeeping team, she actively supports the hospitality team, ensuring smooth coordination between departments and a high standard of service throughout the home.

Prem has worked at Lynde for many years and will become a familiar face to all residents and relatives, especially on the first-floor unit.


Any request is never too much for Prem as she is always there to help. Her care and dedication towards our residents don't go unnoticed by staff, residents and relatives.


Prem is the London Region Nurse of the Year 2024, awarded in March at The Great British Care Awards.

Marie has been a valued member of the Lynde House team since 2016, starting her journey as a Care Assistant. Her dedication and warm personality quickly stood out, leading her to take on the role of Admin Assistant, where she became the friendly and familiar face welcoming everyone at the front desk.


In January 2025, Marie stepped into the role of Home Administrator. With her deep understanding of the home, strong organisational skills, and compassionate approach, she continues to be a vital part of our team, ensuring everything runs smoothly while always making residents, families, and staff feel supported and welcome.

George Quarshi

Job Title: Admin assistant Joined: 2007

George has worked at Lynde for over 20 years. For most of this time, he was our Head of Maintenance, but retired from this position in 2020. No sooner required but he was back helping us during the Pandemic with visiting supervision, etc.


Recently, George became one of the admin team working. In addition, He continues to assist in activities and his Thursday "Cuppa with George" remains a firm favourite with residents. George was recognised in the 2020 Great British Care Awards, reaching the finals of the South Division for support worker of the year.

Nikasha works alongside Gitana our activities coordinator to provide the residents with fulfilling and enjoyable day-to-day activities. They work together to provide great live events and entertainment for both the residents and relatives to enjoy all through out the year.
