i recently visited my aunt at Prince George Duke of Kent Court and was so reassured by the experience. As i live in Australia, am not able to visit as often as I would like, so it means a great deal to know my aunt is being cared for so well. From the moment I arrived, the staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. They made us feel comfortable as visitors and were always happy to assist in any way. What stood out most is how attentive they were to the residents. It was clear they knew each person individually and they treated everyone with kindness, patience and respect.

My dad was cared for at Prince George Duke of Kent Court for only 9 days. He declined rapidly and we lost him too soon. I cannot thank the staff enough for their kindness, compassion and support during this very difficult time. Nothing was too much and the inclusivity for family is second to none. In another life I know my dad would have been happy and comfortable in their care. Thank you all for everything you did

My Mum was a resident for nearly 2 years, initially in Residential and then she moved to Evergreen, the Dementia wing. She arrived having to be transported everywhere by wheelchair but with encouragement from staff became able to walk independently with the aid of a walker.
Both in Residential and Evergreen Nursing and Care Staff treated Mum with tremendous care, kindness and dignity. All staff were very approachable and happy to talk to me if I had any concerns.
The Administrative staff on the front desk were welcoming and also happy to help with any queries too.
Mum enjoyed, in particular, the music activities and trips out that the wonderful Activity team organised.

I found the home to be welcoming and very well run from top to bottom.

From the moment I first came into Prince George I knew this was the place I wanted my mother to stay in and my instincts were absolutely correct. The place had a very positive atmosphere and from the outset the staff were friendly and caring. The layout of the home is excellent with the residents rooms looking out onto the gardens. The communal rooms are large and well-equiped.

One of the most outstanding things about the home along with the level of care and nursing to the residents is the quality of activities and entertainment. There always seems to be something going on and trips out, for those feeling up to an excursion. Relatives and friends are always welcomed and encouraged to come along and enjoy the entertainments with the residents.

My mother seems very happy there and has made some friends so she has company. I feel very secure in the knowledge that she is well cared for, happy and safe.

My brother recently spent his final months in the Prince George Duke of Kent Court RMBI home.
I can't praise the home highly enough. The standard of care and quality of nursing staff has been excellent. The staff are attentive and welcoming. They seemed to switch on very early to my brother's character and how best to look after him.
The rooms, corridors, dining and lounge areas are all light, airy and welcoming. The staff keep the residents interested with a variety of activities. They get a therapeutic effect from the home's pets. They can practice crafts and enjoy the garden. There are musical entertainments in the lounge.
The admin team run the home and catering like clockwork. The nursing team always found time to explain the latest twists and turns in my brother's health and care regime. They were extremely supportive in helping me pick my way through the maze of the local government and NHS bureaucracy.

I could not have asked for better service during a difficult period.

My Mother-In-Law was a resident for 2 1/2 years. She started as an able wheelchair user through to her death, Nov 25. Throughout her stay, she was only ever met with kindness and care (Even if she didn't always appreciate it!). The last 6 months were very difficult for her, but the staff were endlessly patient and continuously encouraging. When she became very poorly, the staff made a great effort to keep her comfortable and her spirits up. The activity coordinators were particularly lovely. I could not fault the care and compassion that she, and we, were shown, proving that it's not the decor that's important, but the people that work there, and they are a fantastic team!

The staff are always helpful and ready to help, always on time and safe when working. The activities that are arranged are amazing, keeping my mum engaged in all of them, which she really enjoys. The day my brother and I first walked into reception, we were taken aback by the cheerful atmosphere that greeted us. More akin to a hotel lobby than a retirement home, the place was bustling with life - friendly staff, sunshine streaming through the windows, views of the gardens, appetising menus - we knew instantly our 90 year old Dad would like it here.
Rendered immobile by secondary bone cancer, the room was well-equipped for Dad's needs. With a big window overlooking the lawn, he also had use of a mobile recliner which gave him the freedom to sit outside, eat in the dining room or socialise in the bar area if he wanted to.

During his four month stay at Prince George, our Dad was treated with an exceptional level of love, care and respect by a dedicated team of nurses, carers and staff who took time to engage with him, laugh with him, cherish and comfort him through the last stage of his life. We will never forget and cannot thank everyone enough for that.

My mother who has a recent diagnosis of dementia and is immobile has been a resident at Prince George for 4 months. During this period not only has my mother been treated with dignity and respect, but so have the family from the management team, carers, to the domestic staff everyone is so friendly and welcoming and it feels like "home". The lovely ladies in pink who arrange and coordinate the activities and entertainment go out of their way to include my mother and always have a conversation with her. As my mother often says to me "everyone is kind, which is very important, and they talk to me." Mum has recently moved to a newly decorated room, which has the most beautiful coordinated furniture and to top it a view of the garden in flower.

All the different departments link smoothly together to deliver a professional and caring service to the residents. Everyone is very polite and cheerful producing a welcoming atmosphere for all.
Special mention must go to the entertainment team. The activity coordinators go above and beyond what is expected of them to deliver a wide & varied full seven-day programme. Their compassionate & kind approach to the residents never wains and is clearly appreciated by all the residents who look forward eagerly to each activity. This is not just observed by myself but is echoed when I speak to the residents who always sing their praises.

All the staff are dedicated to the caring service they supply they create an atmosphere in which the highest level of care can be given.

After spending a month of respite in Prince George's care home I have to say at first unwillingly, I then found that in some ways I was reluctant to leave! I made some friends there and have since been back to visit. Whilst staying there I have to say the staff were all superb, really helpful and kind and even encouraging my rehabilitation even when I was not keen. I recently went back on a visit to a friend and was lucky enough to pick an afternoon/early evening where there was some entertainment. It was a group of young lads who were a tribute to a British rock band from the 60's. Not only was I made to feel most welcome it was also nice to see families enjoying themselves with their loved ones. The staff really put themselves out to make sure that everyone was included and had a great time and I really enjoyed it as did everyone and the band.

The Prince George team of staff made such a big difference - not only did they go above and beyond to make my auntie feel safe and loved they helped her to feel at home and all the daily activities and friendships were developed with all the staff who were always cheerful and happy. All the events and entertainment including the Christmas trip to Ruxley Manor and the local area were so interesting and she loved the Easter chick's arrival and interaction with 2 dogs that made her so happy. My auntie told me it was one of the happiest parts of her later life and she felt loved by all the staff. I can never put into words what a special care home Prince George Duke of Kent is - it was beyond our expectations for the team's kindness, love, and respect. Thank you.

It is just over 18 months since my mother moved into the dementia unit at Prince George Duke of Kent Court. The care my mother receives goes beyond anything we as a family could ever have imagined or expected. We have on this new and at times challenging journey, learnt so much and taken inspiration from the hard-working, dedicated and supportive team that my mother is so very fortunate to have. Whilst we know mum is safe, happy and so well looked after by the team, it can be a little difficult at times as a family (untrained of course) to know if we are saying or doing things the right way, doing enough or maybe at times expecting too much of her. This is, however, always so well understood and supported by the team and any doubts or apprehensions we may have had have always been met with complete compassion and reassurance which has enabled us to gain a greater understanding of dementia and in turn educate us in the best ways we can help to support Mum.

An amazing home from home! I was extremely satisfied with the care my mother received at Prince George Duke of Kent Court. The facilities are excellent, her room was very comfortable with ensuite. The residents move around the home as they wish to the lounges where there are daily activities. In the summer the garden is lovely to sit out in. The food is excellent and there is a good choice. A pre-meal drink can be purchased at the bar. The staff are kind and attentive, always have time for your questions/queries. My mother moved to their dementia wing during her stay. An amazing place with special care. We were glad we had chosen Prince George Duke of Kent Court.

Ill health made it necessary for my mum to move into residential care at the age of 95. She had become thin, her mobility was poor and she had given up on life. I knew Prince George was right for her from my very first visit. It is light and airy, with plenty of staff and residents and a very friendly atmosphere. I was impressed by the caring, attentive attitude of the staff.

Since moving in six months ago, Mum has gained weight, her mobility has improved so she can now get up and down stairs, she is more confident and outgoing and is back to her old self. She is always full of praise for the staff, who treat her with kindness, respect and affection. She has spent many happy hours out in the garden, has been on local outings and joins in lots of activities. I visit often and have been to several excellent social events there for friends and family. I can't praise the staff highly enough, and knowing Mum is so happy gives me peace of mind.

It is a huge worry when your parent has to move into a home but I highly recommend this home as it really does have a lovely homely atmosphere. It is always clean, warm and welcoming. My Mum is currently in the dementia house but has also been in residential.
I can’t praise the staff highly enough that care for her currently. She is always cared for with dignity and respect and whenever I visit, which is frequently, the staff are always caring and kind to the residents and so friendly to visitors who are able to visit at any time without any prior notice.
Mum uses the hairdressers and her clothes are well laundered. Her room is nice and spacious. Food and activities are good & varied. Mum's mobility has really improved since moving here, staff are very patient with getting her moving,

The home is well run and on the few occasions I have needed to talk to management or nursing staff I have always been given their time without any hesitation and any requests have been dealt with promptly.
