Purley Gardens offers high-quality personalised residential, dementia and nursing care to those in the Purley, Surrey and South London areas. Respite care is also available whilst you recover after a hospital stay or just need a break from your everyday routine. The care home has 119 beds and on-site nursing facilities.

The home also welcomes couples.

The beautiful home sits away from the road and has excellent transport links to London, the south coast and the M25. The home is within easy reach of Whitgift Shopping Centre and Purley Downs Golf Course as well as a short drive to Croydon University Hospital. Purley Gardens provides its own hair salon, cafe and more!

The home has panoramic, landscaped gardens which are designed for wheelchair use, perfect for a gentle stroll and is pet friendly, so your four-legged friends can also move in.

Personalised care is given by a passionate and dedicated team of staff who ensure that all residents’ individual needs and requirements are met; whether that is arranging for your favourite meal to be cooked by the chef or arranging activities for you to enjoy.

Purley Gardens encourages residents to stay active, make new friends, nurture interests, learn new skills and pursue favourite hobbies. Their Activities Co-ordinator arranges a whole host of events, trips and onsite activities so there is always something to do.

Sunrise continues to provide excellent care for my mother with empathetic and kind staff. Plenty of activities and good food all in a high-quality environment. Now approaching her fourth year she is as content as possible and we are grateful for all the care.

My only criticism was that the room wasn't completely ready, the TV remote needed new batteries, a drawer was stuck and a call button wasn't supplied initially.

I visited my friend on and off for the duration of her stay. On my first visit I was enormously impressed I felt I was entering a 5-star hotel. The staff and residents including my dear friend were all welcoming happy and delighted to be at Sunrise.

Sunrise may be a more expensive care home but by paying slightly more for your loved one's care you are paying for exemplary care and peace of mind. Our father quickly came to consider and call Sunrise his home, even referring to one of the carers as son. This in itself speaks volumes as my father was
a shy, reserved man. When dad came home from hospital under palliative care we cannot express the level of relief felt by us all because dad was back "home" to his same room and we could relax knowing he was being attended to with such respect, warmth and genuine care for his remaining days. The support we received after he died was equally warm and caring.

My friend was in hospital as she broke her hip and has dementia she was unable to walk. Due to her dementia, she was in a residential home and had to be moved to a nursing home which I highly recommend as the staff are caring she is looked after very well and needs help with feeding the home looks
like a hotel.

Visiting my aunt and uncle today and my first impressions - looks like a 5-star hotel. Staff very friendly. Place neat and tidy. Garden beautiful. Entertainment very enjoyable. I would recommend this place to anyone. It's great to have it for the elderly.

My Mum is cared for on the Reminiscence floor of Sunrise Purley as she has Alzheimer’s. The care, patience and kindness the staff and managers give Mum is outstanding. They show understanding of her personality, frequently making kind comments to us as family about Mum, even when she is being particularly
obstinate! They are thoughtful to the impact of Alzheimer’s on family too.


In August my mother was 100, the staff worked so hard to make this a special day for Mum and all of our family. They made collages from photos and information we provided as well as doing their own research for a presentation of life in Mum’s time. All the thoughtful touches; from the cake and decorations through to playing music from the 1940’s which Mum loved was greatly appreciated. Thank you.

My mother is suffering from Dementia and moved into Sunrise of Purley in 2015. She is extremely well cared for and looked after. The staff are very friendly and extremely caring with and kind to Mum. The home is always clean and the food great - she particularly loves her puddings. It brings peace
of mind that Mum, despite her difficult circumstances, is safe and well cared for. Mum recently celebrated her 100th Birthday and the home made it a very special day for her.
