The Taymer has been caring for our mother for a number of years now. They have always looked after her with care and dignity, making the best of her as she deteriorates due to the conditions she is suffering from. It is always a pleasure to pop in and she her, we would like to thank all the staff for
there continuing care and compassion for our mother.

The management and staff at Taymer couldn't do enough to make my mum's temporary stay more enjoyable. All carers were kind and respectful throughout her stay. In particular, the manager runs "a tight ship" and nothing slips through her attention, excellent. A special shout out to the chefs who provided
a good choice of well-prepared food at meal times. My mum has also asked that the night team receive special mention. You made my mum's stay more enjoyable. Thanks.

I still regularly visit the manager at the Taymer Nursing Home even though my mother, who was a resident, is no longer with us.
Residents are treated with care dignity and compassion and nothing is too much trouble. You sense the kindness and attention to detail as soon as you walk through the door.
The Taymer is a unique establishment filled with love and caring. I'm glad I found the Taymer for my mother and I am grateful that they are still there supporting me beyond my loss and welcome me every time I call in.

I am delighted with the quality of care and kindness shown to my mother at Taymer Nursing Home. The home itself is beautiful with nice surroundings. The staff are attentive. I want to pay particular tribute to the cook, who goes above and beyond the call of duty and also to the manager for her attentive
approach.

Come rain or shine, day or night, you are always welcomed with a smile, friendly, caring staff in all departments. What started as respite has become forever home. Lots of activities to be part of, out for walks, comfortable rooms, lounges to join others and make friends, sitting together for meals,
one big family. Important calendar/annual events such as Easter, Mother's Day, Remembrance Sunday are all celebrated together.

I was made to feel welcome upon arrival. Attentive and happy staff. I was impressed that the staff tackled any job. The building is set in beautiful gardens. There are many alternative places to rest or relax. Visitors are welcomed with tea and cakes and are invited to join their family members for
Sunday lunch.

Being my first experience in a nursing home I have been impressed by the professionalism and genuine care taken by the staff towards the residents, there is a family feel to the home. By the cleanliness and care of the room to ensure the resident is as comfortable as if they were at home. The variety
of activities and inclusion of relatives encourages stimulation and involvement. It was a good choice and I feel privileged to have had the experience.

Visited my friend who was on rehab at Taymer. The most welcoming staff, receptionist, manager, carers and the activities lady did a fantastic job and got everyone involved.
The chef serves delicious fresh food every day and nothing is too much problem.
The home has a very homely feel and the cleanliness
is spotless, overall a fabulous home-from-home.

My father is a recently new resident. His time has been the most caring and loving from the care staff and management. Having lost his wife (my mother) in March very suddenly the staff have treated him so well and with respect - lots of banter and joking - he enjoys this very much.
As the daughter
- it's such peace of mind forever grateful to the team and beyond.

We chose Taymer Nursing Home because it was smaller, all residents had bedrooms and living quarters on the ground floor with views and access to the gardens, and the management and staff were professional and caring.
Dad has been a resident for 14 months and we have not been disappointed in our choice.
The
team and the care they provide have been excellent, thank you.

This is a home-from-home. Their philosophy is 'We work in your home' and that's exactly how it feels. I wouldn't want my mum to be anywhere else than at the Taymer. I couldn't be happier with it and even my mother, who has never been known ever to say a positive word about anything, says 'There's nothing
wrong with it'.

Mum moved into Taymer at the end of May, three weeks ago. Her wellbeing has improved remarkably in such a short period of time. She interacts with the other residents and the staff, something she found difficult to do with people before moving in. The staff are amazing, encouraging Mum to do different
activities that have noticeably contributed to her improvement, especially her mental health. She loves the food and she has even put on some weight having arrived at Taymer very thin. Mum has been allowed to adorn her room with many ornaments and photos from her house, even large furniture, which is a great comfort to her. Taymer really is now her home. Mum is tied to an oxygen supply but the staff have been great in moving her around the care home. Feedback from the staff to me has been very, very good.

I came to Taymer after hospital, having broken both my feet. I came here for rehabilitation. From the moment I arrived, I felt very comfortable and the welcome was lovely. All the staff have tended to my every need. The food was lovely and well-balanced. I started rehabilitation straight away, which
I received every day. The physios were excellent. All in all, I would thoroughly recommend Taymer.

My 87-year-old father was placed at Taymer Nursing Home for rehab in February 2024, following a long stay in the hospital, his time there was awful, and he'd deteriorated both mentally and physically. He became institutionalised, and we feared he would die there.
He was transformed within days of moving
to Taymer. Thoroughly enjoyed the lovely food, regaining his appetite and starting to gain strength. He had his hair cut, shaved regularly and was helped to shower thoroughly every other day, which he's really enjoyed, so recovering pride in his appearance. He re-engaged with life and was chatty when visited - watching TV and listening to the radio again.
Very sadly, heart failure finally caught up with him, (I fear due to the poor care in the hospital), just as he had to leave. Though, it was a blessing for him, and for us, that this happened when he was so much happier with his dignity restored from the good care, attention and food he received from the Taymer team. Thank you!

My mother was a resident here for 2 months of rehabilitation care. Prior to her admission, the Manager took the trouble to introduce herself and discuss my mother's needs and preferences. Once admitted, she and her visitors were made to feel extremely welcome, all requests were granted. The food and
care provided were of a high standard.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.823)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.823) out of 10 for Taymer Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 43 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 43 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.823 for Taymer Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (416 Excellents x 5) + (76 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 498 Ratings = 4.823
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Taymer Nursing Home is based on 43 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 43 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
