My mother has received the most excellent care. The staff are very kind and caring.

It is always a pleasure to visit, the staff go above and beyond to care for their residents. I can't speak highly enough of my mother's care.

My 87-year-old father was placed at Taymer Nursing Home for rehab in February 2024, following a long stay in the hospital, his time there was awful, and he'd deteriorated both mentally and physically. He became institutionalised, and we feared he would die there.
He was transformed within days of moving to Taymer. Thoroughly enjoyed the lovely food, regaining his appetite and starting to gain strength. He had his hair cut, shaved regularly and was helped to shower thoroughly every other day, which he's really enjoyed, so recovering pride in his appearance. He re-engaged with life and was chatty when visited - watching TV and listening to the radio again.

Very sadly, heart failure finally caught up with him, (I fear due to the poor care in the hospital), just as he had to leave. Though, it was a blessing for him, and for us, that this happened when he was so much happier with his dignity restored from the good care, attention and food he received from the Taymer team. Thank you!

My mother was a resident here for 2 months of rehabilitation care. Prior to her admission, the Manager took the trouble to introduce herself and discuss my mother's needs and preferences. Once admitted, she and her visitors were made to feel extremely welcome, all requests were granted. The food and care provided were of a high standard.

I have recently visited my uncle who has been at the Taymer Nursing Home for some months now. I don't live in England so can't visit that often, however, I don't have to worry about him as he is so well looked after. The staff are great with him and his visitors and make sure he has everything he needs. The home is clean, comfortable and the staff are very caring. I can't thank them enough for all they do for him. Highly recommend.

I am a volunteer and visit the home once a week to talk with the residents. I always experience a very welcoming atmosphere and the residents I see are comfortable and happy. I have attended a few events organised by the activities manager and the notice board shows regular trips out. People are treated with respect by the staff.

We heartily recommend Taymer. The staff are exceptional and very caring. The atmosphere is happy and welcoming which has been noted by all my mother’s visitors. My mother has flourished under the care given and the good food. Our only slightly negative observation is the apparent lack of money spent on refurbishment by the company owners, which we feel would support the excellent and hard working staff.

I really fell on my feet when I found this place - after a month of being very badly looked after in hospital. I first came as an NHS rehab patient and then stayed for a while longer as a private convalescent patient.
The manager at Taymer is an absolute star... extremely kind, friendly and helpful. She sets very high standards which the rest of the staff follow (or else they don't stay long!). All of the nurses are really excellent, as are most of the carers.
The place is light, bright and spotlessly clean. It is set well back from the main road so it is nice and quiet and there is a pleasant garden and sitting-out area.
The food is exceptional... especially the wonderful lunches.

Overall, there is a lovely atmosphere. Taymer doesn't feel like a nursing home at all but like a very welcoming home.

The staff here are fabulous and their helpfulness is beyond compare! My mother has been here for two weeks and received the best of care. I have been made so welcome as a visitor here and seen the attentiveness for my mother and visitors alike. The commitment shown here is exceptional and an assurance that residents are receiving the best of care at all times.

Taymer Nursing Home is warm and welcoming. It's smaller than some and this gives it a family feel.
The home is clean, the staff are positive and caring and look after the residents very well. They interact with the residents and treat them individually.
The manager is very approachable and monitors what goes on consistently.
The chef and his team provide good, tasty and nutritious food and ensure likes and dislikes are catered for.
The activities coordinators put together a variety of activities for the residents, including some live music performances, petting Shetland ponies and decorating the communal areas to reflect the time of year, Easter, Coronation etc. An outing to a country house is planned.
The nursing team ensure medication is given correctly and they and the manager ensure relatives are updated on medical issues and arrange hospital transport when necessary.

The admin team answer the phone promptly and ensure relatives are given the necessary paperwork to complete etc.

Words and tick boxes can't and will never express of be able to measure the experience we have had and continue to have at Taymer Nursing Home. Taymer is unique and have welcomed Dad and us as part of their family - as they display on arrival. Staff have ridden some big waves with us for which I shall always be grateful. Staff have connected with Dad, whether it be a good or bad day, and he speaks well of them. The activities and wider family events are excellent and got Dad doing more than he would ever do.
