I really fell on my feet when I found this place - after a month of being very badly looked after in hospital. I first came as an NHS rehab patient and then stayed for a while longer as a private convalescent patient.
The manager at Taymer is an absolute star... extremely kind, friendly and helpful.
She sets very high standards which the rest of the staff follow (or else they don't stay long!). All of the nurses are really excellent, as are most of the carers.
The place is light, bright and spotlessly clean. It is set well back from the main road so it is nice and quiet and there is a pleasant garden and sitting-out area.
The food is exceptional... especially the wonderful lunches.
Overall, there is a lovely atmosphere. Taymer doesn't feel like a nursing home at all but like a very welcoming home.

I visited my brother in Taymer Nursing Home over a period of four weeks and found all the staff to be friendly and helpful at all times. He was extremely well looked after, very happy in a family atmosphere.

The staff here are fabulous and their helpfulness is beyond compare! My mother has been here for two weeks and received the best of care. Taymer Nursing Home is warm and welcoming. It's smaller than some and this gives it a family feel.
The home is clean, the staff are positive and caring and look after the residents very well. They interact with the residents and treat them individually.
The manager is very approachable and monitors
what goes on consistently.
The chef and his team provide good, tasty and nutritious food and ensure likes and dislikes are catered for.
The activities coordinators put together a variety of activities for the residents, including some live music performances, petting Shetland ponies and decorating the communal areas to reflect the time of year, Easter, Coronation etc. An outing to a country house is planned.
The nursing team ensure medication is given correctly and they and the manager ensure relatives are updated on medical issues and arrange hospital transport when necessary.
The admin team answer the phone promptly and ensure relatives are given the necessary paperwork to complete etc.

Words and tick boxes can't and will never express of be able to measure the experience we have had and continue to have at Taymer Nursing Home. Taymer is unique and have welcomed Dad and us as part of their family - as they display on arrival. Staff have ridden some big waves with us for which I shall
always be grateful. Staff have connected with Dad, whether it be a good or bad day, and he speaks well of them. The activities and wider family events are excellent and got Dad doing more than he would ever do.

My brother had been a resident with 24-hour care for over four and a half years. As a family, we could not fault Taymer Nursing Home. All staff are very kind, friendly and attentive to my brother's needs. Always kept in touch with me. Sadly, he passed away on 1st April but his remaining days at Taymer
Nursing Home couldn't have been better. Thank you.

A wonderful, warm and welcoming environment. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. The nursing is outstanding. The home is situated in a quiet area with good countryside views. My mother is eating more at the home than she ever did at home as the food is so well prepared and the chef caters for
each person's likes. I can heartily recommend the home to anyone looking for the 'care' in a care home.

Very comfortable. Felt at home on this first respite visit for ten days. Lucky to have another resident to chat to daily. The staff are always cheerful and caring, including domestic staff but I have given a satisfactory not excellent rating because they couldn't always respond to my buzzer promptly,
due to dealing with other residents. The buzzer system seemed to be buzzing all day, so more staff would be good. Food is always delicious, well-presented and healthy - e.g fruit snack each morning.

The staff are on the whole very caring and kind, the food is excellent, communication is good, management and staff find time to update you on what's going on with your relative and listen to anything you have to say or wishes of said relative. They are making a hard time for us all a little easier
for which I am grateful. I would recommend Taymer.

I've never stayed at one of these places. It's outstanding, the food is the best and you can't get better. Everything is outstanding in every way. If anything was I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. This would be for me. I love it in every way. It's the best place to be. All staff are polite and it
is spotlessly clean. It's just home from home and you can't get any better. Well if I had to be anywhere it would be here, nowhere else. Fantastic, the best.

Whenever I visit I am always greeted warmly and welcomed. My mum is in the residents' lounge when I visit and I am conscious of how all staff are incredibly respectful and attentive to the residents' needs. I have never had any cause for concern. My mum feels incredibly settled and safe despite her
at times being quite confused. On occasion, when I have had to take hygiene supplies to mum's room, it has always been incredibly neat, clean and tidy. When I leave after visiting, I always feel incredibly reassured and comforted by what I have seen and that she is in very caring and safe hands.

Amazing how the home keep on top of everything. Warm and friendly staff were caring and spoke kindly to the patient when cleaning him up as well as the odd bit of chat at other times, which was friendly and good for stimulation. Some of the ratings are not relevant.

My mum has been here for just over two weeks. She is being very well looked after. The staff are very friendly, kind and helpful. They are very busy but in spite of that still, nothing is too much trouble when you ask them for something.

Firstly, thank you! We found Taymer at Silsoe to be unlike other care homes that we have experienced. All staff that we met were caring and friendly and the home had a calm and relaxing atmosphere. You gave our friend's mother a comfortable and dignified stay and although she was a dying lady, she was

My husband stayed for a week at Taymer nursing home. The nursing home was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The meals were excellent and the environment was calm and peaceful. My husband was very happy with his week's stay. The home is set in a beautiful area of central Bedfordshire.

From the moment I came out of the hospital transport and was met by the very welcoming manager, I felt I was in safe hands. Every member of staff I met on my trip to my room was smiling and welcoming also. Over the weeks I stayed here for my hip rehab, I could not fault the attentiveness of any of the
staff. Nothing was too much for them. The chef cooked wonderful meals every day. Tea/coffee and biscuits were offered. The support staff were all brilliant as were the cleaners. Fantastic place.
