Thank you so much to the wonderful team at The Hollies for helping to put mum on the road to recovery. As soon as she arrived at the home mum was welcomed into ‘the family’ and treated with kindness and the utmost respect. Wonderful Matron not only supported and guided mum but also us, her family, through
the challenges which lay ahead. Nothing was too much trouble.
The home is cosy, warm and exceptionally clean. Mum had her own space but could also choose to join in with the variety of activities on offer daily. Christmas activities were lovely and Elvis even came to visit!
Mum loved the tasty food provided by the lovely chef and her team - she will certainly miss the tasty variety of treats!
Our family can’t thank the manager and all of her team for the life-enhancing care they gave - comparing mum now to last September is incredible- they are miracle workers and we will miss them. Thank you.

The Hollies Care Home is rather dated. It has just gone through a refurb which has brightened the building up-internally. The interior gangways are very often cluttered with lifting equipment which is a trip hazard. A resident was observed tripping on such obstacles.


The majority of staff are friendly

and caring, but not all! Although appearing to be friendly the things that are said to the elderly guests are very confusing.


It has been observed residents left for long periods in the lounges with no supervision.


It appears that the more knowledgeable or more senior members of staff do not stay at this home. The home has a high staff turnover.
Overall the home offers reasonable care by most of the staff and some do go the extra mile in creating a pleasant environment.
I would advise looking around before committing to this care home.

The manager is amazing. She has an open door policy and at any time you feel you can go and talk to her, her team are friendly and kind. They look after my mum and I could not ask for any more they are extremely kind and caring towards her. She always looks smart and well cared for.

Our mother had Parkinson's disease and moved to the Hollies care home when she was no longer able to care for herself. She loved being independent and the Hollies staff respected this. Our mother passed away with dignity in September 2018.

When my mother needed to be in a home I was very concerned and worried. Social Services told us that it could be Swindon or Oxford area. This would have meant would not be able to see her that often until a friend told me about the Hollies. They are fantastic and look after her really well and us also.

A recent trip out to a canal side pub for a simple cup of tea made a wonderful afternoon for my dad and a few of his friends. Being wheelchair bound it is difficult to leave the home but the staff organised everything and they all came back with big smiles on their faces. The atmosphere here feels like
a family home, with a lovely community spirit as the residents play games and chat together most afternoons if they want to. Staff and management are all very approachable and do the best to make a really 'caring' care home.

My Grandmother has been a resident since July 2014. All the family are very pleased with her level of care. The manager and all staff have helped to settle her in and encourage involvement with activities. Residents are happy and well looked after. The staff and manager go the extra mile. Always made

I picked this home after visiting other cares.
Since my mother (who has Dementia) and father who is 94 and of sound mind arrived, the manager and all staff have helped them settle in.
We always find they are both cared for in every way and with we are made to feel very welcome.
Residents are happy
and well looked after, the staff and manager so the extra mile.
