Thank you to the wonderful staff at Hungerford care home who took care of my Mum so well. Due to the nature of her illness she was not the easiest person to care for, but the staff always treated her with kindness, understanding and respect. One nurse and the deputy manager, in particular, were...
The only downside for me was that the garden for the dementia wing is not great and there weren't sufficient opportunities for my mum to be outside. Dementia sufferers are often restless and want to walk. It wouldn't be difficult to create a circular route around the garden to allow people like my mother to wander. And residents should be taken outside daily, which didn't seem to happen.
Our mother has been at Hungerford Care Home for about six months now. She settled in straight away. The staff are amazing, so kind, and patient with her varying needs. It's comforting to know she is being looked after so well. We are extremely grateful to the team for everything they do for Mum.
