My mother celebrated her 100th birthday on 28th July 2017. The staff at Hungerford Care Home, especially the activities coordinator made this occasion very special for her and her family.
Mum has reached this great age in part due to the wonderful care she has received at this care home.
On behalf of our family, I would like to thank all the staff for the love, dedication, and care shown to all the residents.

Many, many thanks.

Very impressed with the care, concern and visible friendship shown to the residents. It has a warm and non-institutional atmosphere.

The value for money I have marked as a comparison with other care homes I have visited but I do feel strongly about the imbalance between the self-funded residents and the amount paid by local authorities for their funded residents. Of course, they have every right to the care. It is a national problem.

My mother was living at Hungerford for less than 4 weeks. In that time she was very well cared for by a team of very professional staff, who made her very welcome.

My nan has been living at Brighterkind since March 2017 after a fall at home after which she was hospitalised. Whilst in hospital she lost a lot of weight and was extremely depressed and kept saying she wanted to die, but since she has been living at Brighterkind she has made massive progress and put on a lot of weight and is extremely happy now.

Hungerford Care Home has an amazing atmosphere and staff with a great forward thinking attitude to care. The home itself is very modern with excellent facilities and great activities both groups and individual wish lists.

My mother started as a full body hoist patient and had lost a considerable about of weight. Through good nutrition, personal care and medication, she is now back to a good, normal weight and is walking again. She has also settled very well and is happy and contented in her new surroundings.

Hungerford Care Home is outstanding and I would recommend is as excellent.

Although I have only been here for three days, my first impressions are that the care and accommodation for my father is of the highest quality.
I'm highly impressed with the diligent staff, their professionalism and duty of care.

My father is frail, vulnerable and ill, and it is comforting to know that he is being looked after so well.

This review is based on visits every few months as opposed to more frequent visits. The care home always make us feel very welcome and the staff are very friendly and helpful especially the reception staff, and the nursing staff are available to answer questions when necessary. The home is clean and my brother in law says he enjoys the food. I was concerned that he, being bed bound, did not participate in the activities on offer but staff told me that he did and enjoyed interacting with other clients and staff.

I believe he is being very well cared for and his needs are being met.

All the staff are friendly and supportive. They take good care of my grandad. My grandad is very happy. Every time we visit him, he seems happier and he is always dancing. There are days when he is unwell but the staff make sure he is taking his medications on time and bring the doctors in if necessary. The staff always give information about his weekly activities and they treat us like family. They give an excellent service.

The care shown to dad during his time at Hungerford Care Home was exemplary and we - as a family - were much comforted and reassured by the qualities shown by the staff - patient, empathetic and humane, we knew he was in very good hands.
Support of us was also very good - we were always kept informed and received warmly whenever we visited.

Coping with a loved one with dementia is often difficult, stressful and emotional and Hungerford Care Home did everything possible to alleviate our suffering, as well as dad's.

I am very happy with this care home. The staff are kind, pleasant and competent. The rooms are nice and the grounds and gardens very pleasant. The only fault I have is that there are not enough car parking spaces.

My sister was resident in this home for 1 and a half years. Her care in the above home was exemplary. The staff were always kind and caring - both to my sister and our family. When my sister died, the staff at the home were very supportive - for which we are extremely grateful.

As soon as you arrive you can see what a lovely place it is. It's secure from the outside, when you come inside you are welcomed with a smile. The care home is very clean (no smells) and very tidy. I am told that the food is good. There are lots of activities going on. My relation is very happy being in this excellent care home.

Thank you for looking after her so well.

I can't fault it in any way whatsoever. My husband was in here before me. I have no complaints. Staff from the bottom to the top are wonderful. If I ask for something, it may not come straight away but it is never forgotten. The admin lady is a great help and the receptionist is brilliant.

My Mother has dementia and after two weeks at the first class care home, they found her "too challenging" so we transferred her to Hungerford Care Home. This turned out to be the best decision we could have made and I wish that this had been our first choice. The staff are brilliant and treat her with respect at all times, even though she can be quite difficult. Facilities are excellent. I cannot recommend this care home enough.
