Having viewed 6 other care homes and not really liking any of them, I went to have a look at St Mark's. I arrived unannounced so that I saw a true picture of the home. It was an absolute revelation. Activities being held, everyone happy and all the staff greeted me with a cheery hello. My mum is so well looked after, I don't have to worry anymore. I'm so lucky to have found it.

Can't fault the care and everything the staff do they are so attentive and caring and do lots for the life mum has in the home. I wish all nursing homes were like this as we can visit mum knowing when we leave we have nothing to worry about. Only criticism, the rooms need updating or revamped.

St Mark's has to be the number 1 care home in the UK. My 102-year-old mother has been here for 7 months and has received the best possible care and attention. Everyone is so professional, loving and compassionate. I couldn't ask for a better home for my dear mum. Thank you from the bottom of my heart St Mark's.

Care and attention for my father are excellent. We travel between 2-3 hours each way and appreciate the tea trolley as the machine is often out of service. This is very minor compared with the far more important issue of my fathers care.

Every time I go and see my mother in law, she is always happy. The staff are always happy and helpful to Mum in law and my wife and I, letting us know how she is and notifying if anything is wrong.
They are very good with putting on entertainment and all sorts to help them mix and keep fit as much as they can. Mum enjoys her food, and also likes the respect of the staff in letting her alone in her room or joining in with the activities when she wants.
Mum likes the caring and friendly way the staff treat her.

Mother in law has settled in well due to all the staff.

The staff have been great in helping Mum to settle in, encouraging her to join in all activities, which are very varied.
The families are also made very welcome, we are also kept informed of any medical issues.
The activities and entertainment are extremely good, with lots of encouragement from staff to all join in, no matter what their abilities are.

Everybody is friendly and all show respect to residents.

My mother was placed in St mark's care home in March 2018. She has been looked after extremely well. All her needs have been given with real care and attention by staff. We could not be more satisfied. There is a hairdresser, a laundry and the food always looks delicious. To know how good it is at St Mark's is peace of mind for the family.

The food is lacking in seasoning and some meals are deserved as tasteless. Salads leave a lot to be desired as mainly bland lettuce leaves are given. Rocket, beetroot, radishes, celery, peppers would make it more enjoyable. The staff are a credit to the home and provide excellent care.

I cannot think of anywhere better than St Mark's for my mother to be cared for. She deserves the best and that is what she gets. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Mothering Sunday tea was a fantastic example: happy, fun, friendly and fabulous tea. Well done to the team and thank you.

The management and admin staff at St Mark's are consistently excellent. They are readily available for discussion and offer sound advice. This strong ethos extends to the nursing staff, care assistants, receptionists, maintenance and catering facility, and contributes to a warm and caring environment. Personally, I feel this approach not only benefits the residents, but is very reassuring for families who can genuinely feel their loved ones are safe and getting well cared for. St Mark's is a place that is well run, and this can only be achieved by the dedication of the staff.

From the first contact with St Marks Care Home, the service has been excellent, staff are very professional and very welcoming. The manager is just awesome, all our questions and concerns were managed very well. Everything has been explained. We see the manager around the home engaging both with her team and residents which is great to see. We're going home to New Zealand at the end of January 2018 and we're really happy leaving our family member in the care of St Marks Care Home, the manager and her team.

From my initial phone enquiry, visit and now dad becoming a permanent resident, everybody has been very professional but especially caring and reassuring. The nursing home staff are outstanding and you can only create an atmosphere like that by having a great team environment, which then makes for a lovely atmosphere for the residents.
