Short stays are available for those looking for respite or convalescence care, alongside flexible day care services.
The home is split into four areas, made up of three nursing floors and a dedicated dementia area which is pleasant and modern, each with dining rooms and lounges.
A secure garden ensures that residents can make the most of good weather, too.
Residents are welcome to relax in any part of the home and can enjoy a little pampering in the hair salon, catch up with family over a drink in the bar or read a book in one of the quiet lounges.
The activity rooms are where residents can get creative, and there is a reminiscence room for rediscovering memories. There is a good-sized garden for anyone who wants to take a stroll and an enclosed sensory garden which is great for residents living with dementia.
Meals are made using fresh ingredients and residents can choose to eat in privacy or in dining rooms that overlook the gardens. Mid-morning hot drinks and homemade cake is also available.
Residents’ voices are heard in everything the home does, thanks to the resident and relative committee.
Residents can still do existing hobbies here and are welcome to suggest something different to try, as a group or on their own. Many activities are organised for mental and physical stimulation, including musical afternoons, arts and crafts and bingo.
Movie afternoons are popular and there is a mobile library.

Dad has been a resident of St Mark's Care Home for eight months now, on the Windsor Unit, and we are so pleased with the care and attention he receives there. The nursing staff and assistants are so patient and kind, nothing is too much trouble and they are always smiling! We visit often and we are always warmly welcomed, but most importantly, we can leave knowing that dad will be safe and well looked after by a team of dedicated and hardworking staff.
Thank you for your review. I'm so glad to hear your kind words about our staff and that you have peace of mind knowing that your dad is safe and well cared for.
My mother's needs are attended to, be they medical or otherwise. Despite being in a wheelchair she is regularly included in meals and activities outside of her room, giving her the social interaction that she needs.

My parents were both nearly 94 when they moved into the care home in 2014. My mother needed to be in the dementia unit and although my father's needs arose from physical frailty, the staff responded to the distress they experienced and cared wonderfully for them both together in the dementia wing until my father died 1 and a half years later. My mother continues to receive excellent care, with the staff enabling her to go most weeks to the church that is very nearby and to go on outings which she enjoys when possible. I always received a warm welcome from the staff when I visit and I have real peace of mind about my mother's care, especially as I can be confident of being informed promptly if she falls or needs medication.
Thank you for your review. So sorry to hear of the loss of your father. It is lovely to hear that your mum is looked after so well and enjoys the outings and going to church, and that you have peace of mind as well.

We cannot thank the staff enough for the kindness, compassion and dignity they showed to our darling mum right up until she sadly passed away in January 2017. This was shown by all staff from management, carers, housekeeping and maintenance staff. A big thank you to them all.

My mother-in-law was at St Mark's for nearly 2 years. Her brain was completely sharp until her last day, but she was unable to walk or transfer. She needed to be treated with respect and as a 'normal' human being. She was a perfectionist and had high standards. Staff in the Ascot Suite coped very well with her emotional needs, which were often more challenging than her physical ones. Although very busy, many staff became friends to her and to the family. I was there at least twice a week and could see how well run and caring it was. Any problems were usually connected with her frustration at not being mobile. Her main complaint was that staff didn't have time to sit with her for a long chat and that there was too much food! She chose not to attend activities but enjoyed giving Bible readings at the communion service. She enjoyed sitting in the well-maintained garden. We couldn't fault the way she and the family were looked after on the day she died, which was a very long day.

The vast majority of the staff are exceptional - kind, respectful, efficient, warm and affectionate with patients. Really nice environment and garden. Always welcoming to family members and supportive of their concerns and anxieties. When it came to end of life, they were there in the background when we needed them but gave us privacy to spend our last hours together. Wonderfully sensitive.
I got the sense that many of them saw beyond the dementia to the person that my father had been. They never made a fuss when he got aggressive about personal care. Took it all in their stride and treated him with the utmost dignity and humanity.
Sometimes there was a lack of communication between GP, nurse and family, but otherwise good.
I put value for money "don't know" only because all care homes are cripplingly expensive.

A very efficient and friendly care home which inspires confidence at the outset. The accounts department is extremely well run and financial matters are very clearly explained. The nursing care is exemplary with full backup from the surgery. Not only did the resident (my mother) receive unlimited kindness and care, but we relatives were supported brilliantly at all times. The fact that animals are welcome visitors gave joy and added to the family atmosphere of the home.

I found all the staff charming and helpful. My resident friend, although he was very happy with St Marks at first, he became very difficult and unhappy. Personally I felt it was partially or mostly due to his inability to hear very much - he was profoundly deaf.

I first joined Bupa in 2022 after managing large pharmacy businesses previously. I absolutely adore helping others and getting to feel as if I have made a difference in their lives. At home, I am kept very busy looking after my two young daughters!

I previously worked in an office but had helped Bupa with activities. I decided I wanted to switch to a more caring role and felt this combined my office skills with my passion for care. My family and I live locally to the home, so it felt like the perfect fit. I love my daily interactions with people of different ages, who come from all walks of life and have amazing stories to tell.

I have worked for Bupa since 2018. I was interested in having a career change in the care sector when I applied for the role at St Mark's Care Home. I knew people already working within the care sector and really wanted to try it for myself, and I am still here! I love the feeling of making a difference in people's lives, and I get to meet so many different types of people.
I live locally, so I know Maidenhead really well, and I spend my free time gardening, doing DIY or spending time with my four grandchildren.

I started working for Bupa in 2018. I previously worked as a teaching assistant; however, after my Nan was diagnosed with dementia, I wanted to learn how to support her and others in their daily lives. After doing some research, I was so lucky that this position became available and did not hesitate to join the team here at St Marks Care Home. I love making a difference in people's lives and adding happiness to their days. I live locally, and in my free time, I love spending time with my family, visiting London for theatre trips and camping.
