I have just got home and poured myself a glass of wine after visiting my relative. The reason I have said that is that I know I can relax and enjoy it because I know they are safe and looked after. I think its important for you all to know what an important job you do and how much it means to the families
of residents.
I know its a demanding job, but to hear my Dad saying he has had a lovely shower, or that he really appreciates how quickly you attend to him, or that he has had a great chat with one of the carers means the absolute world.
So keep doing what you do and know it makes such a difference to so many. Thank you.
Reply from Sarah Williams, Marketing Manager at Hampden Hall Care CentreThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. Reading your message truly means the world to us. Knowing that you can relax with a glass of wine, confident that your Dad is safe, happy, and well-cared for, is exactly what we strive for every day. We believe that personal connections and small moments make a real difference, and your feedback is a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do. We understand the trust you place in us, and it's a privilege to care for your Dad and support your family. Your words of encouragement have given our team an extra boost of motivation and pride. Thank you for taking the time to share them.

My mum became a temporary respite client here December 2024 and I am now fighting to keep her here permanently. On arrival I felt an instant warm welcome. The staff were exceptional and still are to this day! This is the best care home I've ever come across and my mum has settled in lovely. I feel so
happy that we found this wonderful place and I can totally relax knowing my mum is here and in the best hands I could ever have wished for. I give this place and the staff a five star rating!

My wife's sister has been in care since the beginning of January 2025 and we have made several visits since then. Our judgement on all occasions is that this is a very well run Care Home. The pleasantness/ friendliness of staff is always there, and the attentiveness given to residents is first class.
Notable cleanliness is just one part of a very good environment. This has left us with no anxiety whatsoever, and we thank you for the relief this gives us.

All staff showed respect to my husband and gave him dignity, particularly at the end-of-life care. I was consulted at all points of care and medical care. My husband's wishes and mine were kept. The level of discretion, care, comfort and compassion were shown to the highest degree as was the professionalism
from the cleaner, receptionist up to the carers and nurses.

My mum has been staying at Hampden Hall Care Centre for respite since suffering a fall and breaking her ankle. What we hoped would be a short stay resulted in longer than expected with several health issues along the way. I can not thank the team enough for their support, kindness and care to my mum

I would like to express my gratitude to all the staff at Hampden Hall who looked after my father until his passing at the beginning of September. Living abroad, it was always a great comfort to me to know that until my next visit, I was leaving him in the hands of such caring, considerate professionals
and that he would always be looked after well. I know they did everything in their power to make sure the last few years of his life were lived in as much comfort and tranquillity as possible. Thank you.

So pleased I visited my sister in this lovely home which was a far departure (for the good) from the previous home I have visited over the years. We were treated on arrival and by the time of our second visit, the lovely helpful receptionist knew our names. Above all, there were no smells of body odour
on my sister's floor. The staff were kind and attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. The equipment is excellent, the atmosphere was calm and comfortable.

I have to admit, having visited many other relatives in care homes, I was expecting 'the smell'. I was very pleasantly surprised. Everywhere was clean and fresh, with no sticky tables or chairs or door handles.
My cousin was clearly happy here.
The staff were all very caring and helpful. They seemed
happy with the work they were doing. The receptionist was lovely. I am confident my cousin is being really well looked after. Thank you.

Hampden Hall has provided outstanding care for my aunt for the last two and a half years. My aunt is treated with dignity and respect and Hampden Hall offers excellent nursing and care. The nursing staff of the Pine Unit need special mention. It took many months of patient nursing and consulting experts
to deal with a nasty skin issue and, any lesser team, would have written an 85-year-old off. However, the whole team persevered and my aunt has returned to her usual cheerful self and enjoys the full facilities of the home.
The staff are exceptionally good at arranging special events and the recent Vintage Tea Party was great fun. I think my aunt thought she was in some very 'posh' cafe.
The home welcomes family members and friends of the residents and includes them in decision-making. The lady on Reception always remembers my name and the carers in Pine Unit offer me a cup of tea (and they make it just as I like it).
Reply from Sarah Williams, Marketing Manager at Hampden Hall Care CentreThank you for your very kind words regarding Hampden Hall, the whole team will be pleased to hear your comments. They are very grateful for such positive feedback and it is great to hear that your Aunt has made such progress enjoying all the facilities and hospitality.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.875)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.875) out of 10 for Hampden Hall Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 45 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 45 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.875 for Hampden Hall Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (463 Excellents x 5) + (62 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 527 Ratings = 4.875
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hampden Hall Care Centre is based on 45 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 120 registered maximum number of service users is 24, which has been reached with 45 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
