Overall Experience

John was a resident for a relatively short period of time, but we wanted to celebrate the kindness, professionalism, and attention that he received whilst he was in their care. Every single member of staff encountered were warm, welcoming and keen to provide him with the most excellent standards of care. Family and friends were welcomed into the home and during every interaction. Nothing was too much trouble with offers of hot drinks and food. Staff were incredibly reassuring regarding his clinical care and kept us all in the picture about how his health was deteriorating which allowed us to keep every member of the family updated. Following his passing, at what was obviously a very emotive time, the staff rallied together ensuring that the process was conducted with the upmost dignity, grace and respect. Totally impressed by every aspect of the home and the staff.

The most amazing place my mum could have gont to everyone from the management, admin, cleaners, nurses, cooks, carers, everyone!!! So polite and pleasant.
Always clean and tidy, lots of activities, although sadly Mum is bedbound, but still gets taken to the lounges on occasion to take part.
Spoken to all my family and they all agree that however long Mum has, she couldnt be anywhere better

Diana, member of staff, so friendly and always has time for both residents & their relatives. She had a lovely relationship with my mother and could gently persuade her to take her tablets when she was being grumpy. She always has time to have a joke and a laugh with my step-dad as well. She is an asset to the home, valued member of staff.

Although my wife's care needs have become more complex as her dementia has progressed over the years, the quality of her care hasn't changed. It's always been of the highest standard, and I can't praise the carers and nurses too highly. My wife is treated with such kindness, and her dignity is respected at all times. She is happy, and I am very grateful for that.

My mother has been a resident since July 25. Unfortunately she requires mental and physical help due to her complex needs. I was anxious about the move. It is quite daunting for an 89 yr old to try & settle in to a new environment, new people and surroundings, especially with dementia.
Ashby house have made the process as smooth as possible. My mum seems very happy, always smiling. Everyone is so kind. The care is of a high standard as is the food. Dabulous entertainment & activities

thank you so much.

My husband has been a resident for almost five years.
His care has always been exemplary.
Various staff changes/absences recently have not changed the day by day care.

Have always found all staff very welcoming - always able to listen and offer advice & comfort to me when I have needed such support.

Just before Christmas my husband was discharged from hospital but, due to his needs, wasn't able to come home. A friend recommended Barchester Ashby House Care Home. I am just so glad that she did.
From the moment I was shown around by one staff member in particular, through interview with the manager, and my various dealings with other staff, I was impressed by an atmosphere of warmth, friendliness, kindness and helpfulness. To have to find respite care just before Christmas is not easy but Ashby House stepped up to the mark making a difficult job run smoothly.
My husband has been cared for wonderfully well over the past weeks, is happily settled and is full of praise for the kindness and respect shown to him by all the staff. Unfortunately, he will not be able to return home as hoped but I feel happy leaving him there knowing how he and I are treated.

Getting to know staff better is a great experience, as is meeting other residents and their families - everyone is friendly and nice. I would highly recommend Ashby House.

The manager visited me in the hospital after showing my partner around Ashby House Care Home. She gave me lots of helpful information and agreed that I could go there the following day. On arrival, I was very warmly welcomed by the manager and various members of staff. I had a cup of tea and a biscuit in my room and was then given a tour of the corridors and day spaces in a wheelchair. It was then lunchtime and I had an enjoyable lunch with other residents.
Throughout my week's stay, I was very well looked after. All staff were very friendly and helpful during the day and overnight.

I would recommend Ashby House Care Home.

Barchester Ashby House Care Home has looked after my mum for over three years now, they are absolutely wonderful, everyone is caring, compassionate and friendly, I am so pleased my mum is in Ashby House.
Mum, sadly, is now in respite care and the team has been marvellous at moving her to be near the nurse's station and making her welcome and comfortable and keeping me informed.

My mum had to be moved to a home in July and finding the right one was a stressful time. The team at Barchester Ashby House Care Home were amazing and from the first phone call with the administrator through to getting Mum settled was a great experience. The team really cares and have gone the extra mile to make sure that Mum was settled. The room is lovely and the facilities are well-kept and the open spaces are welcoming. Only small glitch is that the wi-fi in some rooms is not as strong and maintaining contact is not always possible. That aside, it is a great place and we are very happy Mum has a new home. I can fully recommend Ashby House.
