Nestled within the quiet surroundings of Chelmsford, Admirals Reach care home offers personalised residential, nursing and nursing dementia care to older people.

The professional care team is on hand to help you or your loved one settle into life at the home. Inside, Admirals Reach's modern yet homely interior includes well-furnished lounges and spacious rooms as well as a conservatory. Arranged in five separate houses, four of these provide dementia care and one provides residential care.

The home also offers a range of lovely dining areas where residents can relax and enjoy an intimate dining experience with family and friends, and in addition to the dining rooms, residents can also enjoy mealtimes in the peaceful courtyard garden on sunny days.

I'm very pleased with the care that my Dad is receiving at Benbow House, Admirals Reach. The staff are fantastic, caring & very friendly. My husband always looks well looked after. He is always clean and shaved and is wearing clean clothes. His room is clean and looks cheerful with family things added. Although he can only have pureed food, the food I have seen always looks appetising.

Benbow Rise is an excellent care/nursing unit. The staff are extremely kind and conscious of all the residents needs. My mum is treated extremely well, she is bed bound and the staff are able to cater for her every need. The home is kept clean and tidy. The residents are treated with respect and dignity.
The food is very good, there is always something for the residents to eat or drink. I would recommend Benbow Rise/Admirals Reach to anyone.

I have found the staff to always be helpful and friendly; they take very good care of my mum; she is well dressed, clean, and monitored. They are always professional and extremely caring to all residents under all circumstances. It can be a difficult decision to put a family member into a care home,
but I feel like I have struck gold with Admirals Reach. Lovely place, with lovely people!

My mum has been a resident at the care home since 2016, and in all the time that she was a resident, she has been treated very well and cared for by all the staff at all times. Sadly, my mum passed away in August but the staff contacted me straight away so that I could be with her until the end. I and

The managers, care staff, kitchen, etc. All work to a very high standard. My husband always looks clean and cared for. The most impressive thing is that many of the staff have been on Benbow for several years, hence the continuity of the excellent care.

Whenever I visit there is always friendly faces from all the staff. My husband has been here over a year now and always seems happy and contented, which is so important for him and of course me! He joins in with most of the activities, which again is so important. Thank you to everyone.

My mother, who had dementia, was admitted to Admirals Reach in February 2024 and spent 17 months as a resident before passing away in July 2025. At all times, Mum was treated with respect and dignity. Despite her dementia, she was made to feel that she was part of the community. Staff at Admirals Reach
have been excellent at all times. I have found them professional, caring and accessible. I have been able to contact them at all times, and they have kept me well informed. The home is clean and very well run. Thank you for everything you did for Mum.

Every single member of staff in Nelson House (nurses, carers, cleaners and activities) have been exceptional. Dad has been very well cared for with kindness and dignity throughout his time there.
As a family we have also been treated very well and professionally and with kindness too.
Everytime we
have had questions or concerns on any level, were dealt with straight away.
We were always made to feel welcome Dad was always made to feel comfortable and loved.
The staff in Nelson House are a credit to Admirals Reach.

I am very pleased with the home. The staff are all respectful and helpful, and make me feel very special. Medical care is excellent. The entertainment is great, I really enjoy seeing the different performers. The entertainment staff are very polite and helpful, always. I feel very secure here.

My dad was very well looked after. Even though I know how hard he could be to even do the simple things he carer built up a great relationship with him that he would listen and do the staff that he should do. Everyone showed care and passion with dad's care. We are very grateful.

Dad had been a resident for three months and we were recommended Admirals Reach by a friend whose husband had been a resident. We have been so happy with the care Dad has received. The staff are so lovely and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. They rely any information to me very quickly, either

Lal is a Registered Nurse with over twenty years’ experience. He is a knowledgeable leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life to older people, to enrich their lives. Lal is dedicated to providing quality care and support for elderly people, to enrich their lives.


Lal closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. He uses his experience to motivate his team to deliver care and support in a way that Residents gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home. Lal is committed to promoting individual choice for Residents, allowing them to feel empowered.


He also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Admirals Reach.


When asked what he enjoys most about his role, Lal remarked:


“Seeing Residents smiling and knowing that as a team we are making a difference to their lives.”


In his spare time, Lal enjoys playing badminton, travelling to exciting destinations and spending quality time with his family.
