Nestled within the quiet surroundings of Chelmsford, Admirals Reach care home offers personalised residential, nursing and nursing dementia care to older people.

I am very happy here, the staff are friendly and helpful. The lounge is very comfortable and light.

We have found the care and nursing of my husband of a high degree. Staff show care and understanding of residents needs.
Management are open and caring.
Office staff are very helpful and ready to listen. We feel fortunate my husband is being cared for here.

All the staff in her wing of the nursing home did a very good job. They provided an excellent level of care and support.

We moved my Uncle to Admirals Reach after the sad loss of his wife. They have all made every effort to make his transition a positive one. During our visits, we have enjoyed charity walks. Singing, dancing, afternoon tea. Having dementia can be frightening for all involved, the sufferer and family too.
However, this home has made life much easier and enjoyable for us all.

Whenever I visit my father in Benbow House, staff are always welcoming and friendly. They appear to know the residents very well, are always interacting, engaging with residents and families. My father always looks well and well presented. Staff are very accommodating when asked for anything and take
their job roles seriously. There is always a very calm feeling on Benbow House and I have never had cause for concern or any need to complain. Keep up the lovely work that you all do.

My husband has been in this home now for 3 and a half years and I wouldn't wish for a better home. The nurses and carers are wonderful. His needs are met 100%. He is always clean, well fed and loved. In fact, it is like a second home for me as well, always a smile and a cuppa.

We found ourselves not being able to transfer mum within her flat. Admirals Reach responded immediately and assessed mum within the hour and mum commenced her short term stay two and a half hours later. The short term respite stays entitled us to get different equipment into mum's home enabling her
to return safely five days later. The standard of care during mum's stay was excellent.

A very happy and caring home. Resident's needs always adhered to. The staff are always ready to help and look after relative's needs as well as residents. The food is plentiful and good and nicely presented. Activities varied as much as possible in all a very caring home with caring staff. The only
setback is lack of domestics but when domestic present, the whole Admirals Reach set up is second to none.

This was my father's first experience in a residential care home. He stayed for 3nights and commented the following.
'I couldn't fault Admirals Reach, the staff were excellent in all ways and made me feel comfortable. It could be said it was like a home from home. The food was excellent, plenty of
it with a good choice. My room was very comfortable, clean and had a pleasant outlook on the grassy square.
The communial areas were perfect and there was freedom of choice as to where to sit/watch TV.

I enjoyed my stay at Admirals Reach for respite whilst my wife had a holiday.
My room was nice, comfortable bed, very nice outlook, very clean.
The staff looked after me very well and the food was very good.

The staff are always very welcoming and I can always speak to someone about my mum if I need to. My mum is happy, washed and looking well. She has a good relationship with the staff and I know if there was a problem I would be contacted and it would be dealt with professionally.

Mum went into the care home 2nd February 2017 and we were very happy with the welcome and care that we received during her short stay with them as she sadly died on 12th February. However short her time at the home, she was always treated with respect and genuine concern for her well-being. Staff went
out of their way to ensure that mum had everything that she needed and settled in quickly. Her last days were happy ones and she died peacefully with caring staff around her. As a family, we highly recommend this home. The staff in the dementia unit are exceptional in what they do and we are so thankful to them all. On a practical note, the rooms are of a good quality and the whole place is very clean. The food was excellent and mum was happy eating properly for the first time in ages. There is so much publicity about poor care in homes but Admirals Reach is an exception to this and I can happily recommend that you visit for yourself.

Lal is a Registered Nurse with over twenty years’ experience. He is a knowledgeable leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life to older people, to enrich their lives. Lal is dedicated to providing quality care and support for elderly people, to enrich their lives.


Lal closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. He uses his experience to motivate his team to deliver care and support in a way that Residents gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home. Lal is committed to promoting individual choice for Residents, allowing them to feel empowered.


He also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Admirals Reach.


When asked what he enjoys most about his role, Lal remarked:


“Seeing Residents smiling and knowing that as a team we are making a difference to their lives.”


In his spare time, Lal enjoys playing badminton, travelling to exciting destinations and spending quality time with his family.
