High standard of personal care by willing and competent staff. Great assistance from the home manager in obtaining NHS funding. Activities well arranged and the chef provides really nutritious food. In view of COVID-19 access is very limited to allow a more detailed review.

I am happy with the care provided to my dad. All the staff I have met are warm and welcoming and nothing appears too much trouble. They are professional, caring and patient with my dad’s needs. Through this COVID-19 period, they have gone out of their way to facilitate as much communication with him as possible either by personal visits, individual calls or group calls. I can’t thank you enough for all your hard work.

A clean, professionally run care home with kind and caring staff. Dad was transferred here from hospital after a fall in his previous care home. He has been treated at Ashlar House as an individual with his own personal needs with dignity and sensitivity.

Ashlar is a very caring establishment, which provides the best possible environment for its residents who are treated with dignity and respect, even when their needs mean that a significant level of physical intervention is required.

A dear friend of mine has been wonderfully looked after at Ashlar House in these difficult times with the Coronavirus, with continued high levels of added hygiene that's needed. A great help has been the FaceTime that was set up by the home, it has reassured my friend and me during these last months in lockdown and restricted access times. Sending a big thank you to all at Ashlar House for all your hard work and heartfelt professional care.

As this difficult year comes to a close I just wanted to say how delighted I am that my great Aunt is being so beautifully and professionally cared for at Ashlar House. Its been a very trying year for all residents and staff at Ashlar, I know due to very tightly controlled hygiene rules that are keeping staff and residents as safe as possible. As personal visits have been drastically reduced and often not possible over the past few months the Activities Manager has been very busy in contacting loved ones including my great Aunt with FaceTime via computer a very valuable and reassuring way to keep in touch in these times, it has provided communication which has helped greatly. Also, I would love to thank all staff including management for their continuous tireless care and work at Ashlar I am very happy that my great auntie is being kept safe by caring and professional staff there. Seasons Greetings to Management and staff at Ashlar and a Happy New Year 2021.

My dad was transferred to Ashlar House from another care provider in Essex at the request of the MOT Team and care professionals. My dad has settled in nicely which is due to the caring and dedicated staff. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble, as they have the welfare of my dad as their priority. My family are comforted to know that Dad is being well looked after and is happy in his own way.

I am very fortunate that my mother has been looked after and cared for at Ashlar House for more than five years. As I live in the USA I am unable to visit frequently, but I did manage two visits last year. Ashlar is a very good, clean home with loving, caring, professional staff and my mother is fed well and kept very clean and happy there. I couldn’t wish for her to be anywhere better and can only say from my experience, that Ashlar is a better home than I’ve witnessed here in the USA. It’s a shame I have had to cancel my visit this year due to government airline guidance, but I can relax knowing my mother is so well cared for.

My partners mum always looks happy and well cared for. We speak to her on WhatsApp, and we see who the staff are care for her always doing her hair and nails and listening to her. I work in age care in Australia, and I can tell if the staff really do care and they do. One lady has been amazing sending us photos and helping her speak with us on the phone. She says she loves the food, and the staff, and the whole place, especially the gardens. Great job everyone...

To me, this care home is outstanding in every way. The bedrooms, eating areas, lounge everywhere you go is clean and tidy as you would expect. My uncle is a resident in this home and I have not seen him as happy as he is now for a long time. The care he gets is outstanding. He is always doing some sort of supervised activities. I live 60 miles away and it’s good to know my uncle is being well looked after. I would recommend this care home to anybody who is looking for somewhere safe, clean and secure, for their loved ones to be looked after.

I am the daughter of a resident and live in Australia. I can tell all aspects of her care are taken into consideration. Excellent communication is always there for the family and with my mum and the staff whenever we need it.
The staff, especially one staff member in particular, always keeps me informed, sends me pictures of my mum and helps me talk with her on Whats-app as mum needs help using her phone.

I can see her room and the whole place is always clean and tidy and the food looks healthy. My mum always speaks highly of all the staff as kind, caring people who take time to chat with her and are always helpful to all our family. My daughter loves calling and speaking with her grandmother and we feel like she is in excellent hands which is very important as we are so far away and can't visit her. I have been very impressed with the COVID-19 safety plans and the level of high care at all times for my mum and it is very much appreciated. Big congratulations to all the staff and management.

Our father was admitted to Ashlar House on the 28th February 2020 after suffering a major stroke and brain bleed on the 20th January. He was already suffering from Alzheimer’s over the last 14 years.
The care my father has received since his admission has been absolutely first class. All the staff, have been excellent, but a special word for one member in particular, who during the lockdown has always taken the time to call us on FaceTime so we can communicate with Dad. She is a bubbly, has an engaging personality who is a credit to the care system.
I am looking forward to visiting my dad at the nursing home as soon as is possible, and thanking the staff personally.

Thank you for the way they have looked after our father during these difficult times.

The staff looking after my mother-in-law are excellent. The facilities are good and there is a pleasant atmosphere when visiting. There are activities that the residents can participate in if they wish or they can sit on comfortable chairs and watch the TV. My mother-in-law has to have 1 to 1 care. The care staff are excellent with her care. There is also tea/coffee making facilities for visitors to have free of charge.
