we only got to experience this care home for a short period, but I have to say throughout the time we spent visiting here we found all staff amazing. From when we first went to view the home the staff were helpful and most of all approachable. Nothing seemed too much which to us was a major positive. The time my friend spent within the care home improved her quality of life and the staff made sure she was comfortable at all times. They also made an effort to get her out of bed and if she couldn't then they would bring activities to her which made my friends day. I think the thing that stood out to us was that the staff seemed to care and have time for the residents.

I found Ashlar House residents to be happy and well cared for. The caring staff were very attentive to the residents, also great activity staff. The food was first class and plenty of it. The nursing and management staff were always on hand and very approachable. I am glad we chose Ashlar House for my Mum's final weeks. She was in a safe and happy environment. Everyone was so kind.

My mother-in-law has been a resident at Ashlar for more than four years and she appears to be very happy there. I say ‘appears to be’ because sadly she can no longer communicate in this way but I know that the standards are high and the care from the staff is second to none. They are always so kind, considerate and unbelievably patient.
The meals are excellent too and, even though her food now has to be puréed for her, it is still presented as attractively and imaginatively as is possible. There are many areas to walk around and there are three gardens, a dining room and two lounges.

One further positive factor is the appointment of the Acting Manager and the resulting stability this has brought to the wonderful staff of Nurses and Carers. Ashlar has further strengthened and improved as there is now a focus on valuable in-house knowledge and expertise being constructively shared.

I never mind coming to visit the care home as always made to feel welcome and everyone is pleasant. Entertainment afternoons are always a fun time and my father-in-law enjoys the musicians and singers. Tea and coffee making facilities are an added bonus and I'm always impressed with how clean the care home is.

My mother has been at Ashlar House Care Home since 2010. She has always been treated with care and respect. Consideration is given with regards to her likes and dislikes. The staff are friendly and caring and any concerns I may have are soon dealt with. The food is good and plentiful. Being on one floor there is easy access to all the rooms and they are kept pleasant and clean. As near to being at home as possible.

Mum has been a resident at Ashlar for a year now. During this time I have found the staff extremely helpful when being approached. The food looks appetising and Mum always eats enthusiastically. Ashlar is a clean and homely establishment with several lounges where residents can wander between lounges and choose a seating area of their choice.

My dear Mother has been living at the Ashlar care home now for some time and my visits are often. I couldn't be more happier with my Mothers care. Ashlar is a very happy home to many residents and their families.
Family afternoons with song and music take place regularly, these afternoons are very pleasant and I have enjoyed being part of them.
My Mother's care is superb and I speak very highly of the home and all the staff there.
The food is very tasty, the home is always clean and warm and during the different seasons, the home is decorated accordingly. (Easter/Christmas/Mother's Day, and so on).
I have great pleasure in submitting this review and am very happy to share my views of Ashlar.

I would highly recommend Ashlar to anyone's relative.

My friend and I timed our visit for the afternoon and we joined in a 'music and movement' activity. The resident we were visiting enjoyed this activity very much, smiling, tapping his feet and clapping to the songs. It was a great thing to witness his engagement and very obvious happiness.

Staff were attentive and thoughtful, definitely taking pleasure in going the extra mile.

My dad is always looked after by very caring staff who treat him with respect, dignity and compassion. We always feel they treat him like a member of their own family. They are always friendly and show respect towards the family and listen/act on any concerns. The nursing staff are vigilent to his medical needs and let us know of any changes. The domestic staff work tirelessly to keep the home clean and tidy to a very high standard. A fantastic new activities coordinator has brought a breath of fresh air to the care home and endless smiles, hugs, fun and entertainment which my dad can now be part of. We would definitely recommend this home to others looking for a member of their family.

My husband has been in Ashlar House for about 16 months and seems very comfortable in there. The staff are very friendly and helpful and it became a second home for me as well. The home is very clean and never smells like some places do. The residents get fed very well in there as well. All in all, I am very pleased.

Three of us visit weekly and have been friends of our resident pal for 60 years. Whilst our friend is unable to talk and is incontinent, the staff treat him with respect and compassion. They encourage him and provide for his needs. They are friendly to visitors, and the home has a good atmosphere, given the difficulties in providing care for patients with memory loss. We have singalongs with visiting musicians and it can be fun.
