A lovely atmosphere, very friendly and welcoming. There was a routine so residents were able to work out what would come next. Although it was flexible so individuals were able to do other things. On a negative note the TV in the main lounge was very intermittent, on the main channels, only worked with films. I had a problem which I mentioned to the management which was instantly solved, and addressed and put in action for my husband, the resident. I would recommend this home for friends and family.
Thank you for your feedback. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. It is great to hear you would recommend Colonia Court to friends and family. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care.
The home is clean and well run. The staff are all very friendly and helpful, treat all residents with dignity and respect. My sister is well cared for and very happy there and has made it clear she would not wish to be anywhere else. She has made friends there and everyone appears to get along nicely together.
Thank you for your kind words. It is always nice to hear words like dignity and respect being used to describe our care. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care.
Cannot praise the staff enough at Mumford House, they truly are outstanding with their care towards mum. I always feel like they care about all the residents in the home. They do lots of activities and are always happy and considerate towards mum. Thank you.
Thank you for your lovely review. It is always nice to hear words like happy and considerate being used to describe our care. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care.
An excellent care home, which we feel is person centered. The staff are professional, caring and respectful to the residents and one another.

Very helpful, kind but professional staff.

Mum has been in Blomfield House for more than 5 years, all the staff and residents have now become her second family. It is a very happy place, and am so glad we chose here. There is always some form of entertainment going on, and trips out too.
Thank you for your kind words. It is so wonderful to hear that your mum feels like a part of our Colonia Court family and that you can feel at ease with your mum in our care. We are pleased to hear that you are impressed with the variety of activities and trips out that are available to our...
I must thank the staff at Amber Lodge for the care and support they gave my husband for the six months he was in Amber Lodge. They looked after him so well with the dignity and respect he deserved. They also made sure I was ok to answer any queries or concerns I had. They are a truly dedicated team. Thank you.
Thank you for leaving such a lovely review for the staff at Colonia Court Care Home. It is always wonderful to hear such kind words about our staff. Thank you for writing to us and best wishes!
Dad has been in Blomfield House approximately a month now and settled within a week. I can't thank the staff enough. From the super friendly helpful reception team, to the management team, who are always on hand if I have any questions, we could have asked for a better home from home for him and it has given me such peace of mind to leave him with them.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely review for Colonia Court Care Home. We are thrilled to hear dad has settled in so quickly. It makes us very happy to hear you have peace of mind and know dad will be taken care of when you leave him in the care of the home.
On the whole, this is an amazing care home. Since our mum has been a resident, she's actually 'bloomed'. The care is very good. Sometimes they are short staffed, which makes it hard for the other carers. Mum is in Mumford House, the care is incredible, even when they have difficult residents. The staff are good at outings, activities and making sure mum is washed and dressed. We would like to see more visits from therapy animals - like the other houses.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your review. It is so wonderful to hear that your Mum has really benefitted from her time with us at Colonia Court Care Home. It is always lovely to hear words like "Incredible" being used to describe our care and we are pleased to hear that you are...
When a family member (in our case Dad) goes into care, you want it to be in a safe, clean, caring, well-run environment. Colonia Court meets all of those and more. The staff, from management, office, nursing, and carers could not have made Dad and the family any more welcome than they have. They have done all they can to support us and Dad at what has been a very difficult time. Having Dad in such a lovely environment puts our minds greatly at ease. We have access to the "Relative Gateway" (a web-based record of Dad's everyday care). All in all, there is nothing negative to say about Colonia Court. Dad is happy, the other residents seem content and we are at ease knowing Dad is here.
Thank you for your lovely review. We hope Colonia Court Care Home did everything possible to make the transition as easy as possible and we are glad to help you and your family through such a difficult time.. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your dad in our care. It is always...
In recent months it has been difficult to have a conversation with relatives in the lounge area due to the increasing noise of residents who are clearly at different stages/possible stages of dementia. My relative does not like spending time in the lounge as it is sensory overload. It would be better if there was a quiet area residents could go to other than their bedrooms or consider if this is the right home for certain residents.
Thank you for your taking the time to leave your review. We will discuss your feedback with the home manager to help them continually improve their services. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your relatives stay as comfortable as possible.
My wife has spent time here for respite care so I knew it was a good place to be. My sister has had her life really tidied up and improved after having spent a difficult time at home trying to be independent.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We hope Colonia Court Care Home did everything possible to make the transition as easy as possible. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care.
Just a business! My mum passed 6 weeks ago! I thought my Mum was liked and well respected by all the staff in Mumford House where she lived the last 8 months of her life. So I am shocked and so sad to learn that no condolences have been received by myself or my family and only invoices were to follow my Mum's passing.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your comments. We are saddened to hear about your loss. We will discuss your feedback with the home’s manager to help them continually improve their service. If you would like to speak with anyone about this further, please contact our Quality Team on 0113 360 4806.
My mum moved into Amber Lodge a few years ago after a battle to find a home which truly understands the complex need for people with Huntington’s Disease. Since being at the home, she has been given a second chance at life. All of the staff go above and beyond to ensure she is loved and cared for, as well as being able to manage this complex and debilitating disease. They do exactly the same for every other resident in the lodge and provide them all with experiences that they would not have had otherwise. From us, and all of the families at Amber Lodge, thank you for everything that you do.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your lovely review. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after and we hope you all feel like a part of our Colonia Court family. We hope to continue providing your mother with the best possible care and we are looking forward to seeing you again soon.
I've not got a bad word to say about Amber Lodge. We discovered the place by arriving for rest and respite through the NHS and they made my brother feel so welcome. He now resides there permanently. The change I have seen in my brother is remarkable. The staff are so understanding of the disease too. I've never seen so many patients with this horrendous illness so happy. That is down to the dedication of the staff.
Thank you for your lovely review. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your brother in our care and we are glad to help you and your family through such a difficult time. We are so pleased to hear that you can see positive changes in your brother's well-being and it is always nice to...
We were all made welcome when we came to visit our auntie. We had come from Wales and the staff were amazing and made all seven of us feel welcome. Thank you and keep up the good work, hope to see you all again soon.
Thank you for your feedback. We are happy to hear all of you were made to feel like a part of our Colonia Court family. We are looking forward to seeing you again.
The staff have excellent communication skills and always advise me either by telephone or email of any changes to my mother-in-law’s condition or of any procedures they wish to carry out that need my permission.
Whilst I was there recently my mother-in-law was very sleepy. The staff were concerned that she wasn’t eating or drinking very much. A member of staff gently woke her and fed her with cake and ensured that she had a drink.
I am very pleased that my mother-in-law is at Colonia Court and I am so pleased with the care that she is receiving.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave us your comments. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is so well cared for and looked after in our home. Thank you for choosing Colonia Court and if there is anything else we can do to make your Mother-in-Law's stay as comfortable as possible please let us know.
Welcoming to visitors. Staff talk to you. Residents involved in what is going on and, if capable, taken out and about. Residents and family carers meet with staff to discuss future entertainment or improvements. Visiting without prior arrangement.
Thank you for your kind words. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your loved one in our care, especially as they are included and valued in their opinions in what they would like to do at the home. We hope to continue providing your loved one with the best possible care and thank you for choosing Colonia Court for your stay.
My mum is currently a resident here, the carers are lovely and always know how to make her smile. One staff member in particular provides different activities to keep them busy, the carers know everyone and remember who's visiting who.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your lovely review. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. We look forward to seeing you again soon and thank you for choosing Colonia Court for her stay.
My mum is in Amber Lodge and every single member of staff that works there is incredibly kind and caring. My mum really enjoys being there and there is so much going on for her to take part in, it melts my heart that she gets to do so much despite having Huntington’s disease. There are no barriers at Amber Lodge, they do everything they can to ensure the residents are happy and fulfilled. I tell everyone I know just how incredible Amber Lodge is.
Thank you for your kind words. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your mum in our care and it is always nice to hear words like "incredibly kind" and "caring" being used to describe our care. We hope your mum feels like part of Colonia Court family. We hope to continue providing your mum with the best possible care.
