Mum was so happy at Highfield, she was convinced that she was on holiday in a hotel. The family were very pleased she settled in so well. We saw she was well cared for, offered snacks and drinks whenever she wanted, and the staff were very caring looking after all her needs. Staff always kept us informed of mum’s progress and we were made welcome when visiting, telephone enquiries were always answered efficiently and staff called us whenever necessary keeping us up to date. Facilities are great with lovely secluded gardens at every turn. Mum was encouraged to join in with activities and she was never just left on her own. The whole family say a big thank you to Highfield staff.
She enjoys the activities and outings. The staff are friendly, approachable and professional. Gran's health has improved since living at Highfield Private Care Home.
Facilities are good and activities offered to my mother are appropriate for her condition.
I just wish to say that this home is a place that I would like to be put if I had a stroke like my wife - that covers it all.
My mother was in the dementia suite for nearly three years. She benefited from excellent, loving care at the home, was extremely well fed (it was wonderful to see her putting on weight again), enjoyed lots of cups of tea and was always treated with courtesy and friendliness. I could not have asked for better.
My mum stayed at Highfields for two weeks after being discharged from hospital after having a hip replacement. I firstly chose this care home after phoning around a few care homes in the area and spoke to a member of staff there who is so friendly and caring on the other end of the phone, which immediately made me decide to send my mum there to recover, as I know from that conversation that she would be well cared for, I was not wrong. Every member of staff was very friendly, caring and gentle. Nothing was too much bother. They all went the extra mile to make her stay really pleasant. The food was amazing and plenty of it. Thank you to all the staff. Very pleased.
This is the best care home of all those we visited when choosing one for our mother.
Every aspect of the care my sister receives is marvellous. It has given me great peace of mind that she is well looked after both physically and emotionally. She enjoys the activities when she can and especially a laugh.
My mother is a resident at Highfields care home. She has been there since March 2016. She is well cared for, always nicely dressed and the staff are caring and kind.
The food is cooked on the premises and is good. There are lots of activities arranged for residents. The gardens are pretty and the setting is attractive.
An excellent home, wonderful staff only too pleased to help and listen. Very kind to residents. Very well kept and clean.
I have found the management and care staff friendly and kind, always willing to answer queries with politeness.
I could not have asked for better.
My mother went in for a weeks respite while my family and I were on holiday. She was reluctant and very unsure about this. On arrival the staff were brilliant, making us very welcome and did everything they could to put her at ease. A week later and I went to pick up mum to find her eating lunch and not ready to come home. She had a very positive week and couldn't praise the staff, food and cleanliness enough. She had been out on a trip and anything she wanted was no trouble at all. She enjoyed it so much that she is more than happy to go back anytime we are on holiday.
The residents are all treated as individuals, and I was amazed that the staff knew my mothers name from day one, making her feel like a welcomed friend.
Mum really enjoyed the outings and activities offered.
I have also been very grateful for all the help and support I have received from everyone - phone calls to update me when my mum was unwell, help with assessments etc.
The manager and administrator were always very friendly and approachable, and knowing that my mum was being looked after by such caring people 24/7 was such a relief after a very stressful and worrying time.
I am very impressed with the carers, nurses and staff who work at Highfield. As family I can see they are disciplined, hard working, cheerful, patient, full of energy and gentle. I like their approach and attitudes, they are professional. The home seems clean, well designed, a lovely garden, good deck and light with good activities mostly. The security, food, furniture, approach and entrance all seem excellent.
My husband is a resident at Highfield and I would not have him anywhere else. The staff are always courteous and polite.
Mum has been in Highfield for a year now. I have not failed to be completely happy with the care she has received in that time. Particular mention should go to the activities co-ordinator who does an absolutely brilliant job.

Meet the Team (1)

Coming to live in a care home often leaves people feeling that they are giving something up. It does not have to be like this. We provide companionship and guidance to help residents continue to do the things they enjoy. As Home Manager I want to make the transition as easy as possible for everyone .
Highfield is their home. Residents can choose to mix with others as much, or as little, as they wish. Life goes on as normal with visits to church, supermarkets, and the local pub garden.
Contact with family and friends is essential for well being and we encourage you to get involved in our community. You are always welcome to join us for lunch and we have regular social evenings. We do not have fixed visiting times so you can visit whenever you wish.
I am a Registered Nurse, specialising in mental health. We know that physical and mental health are connected and you cannot have one without the other. We help with the practical aspects of daily living, but also help our residents maintain self-esteem, self-worth, engaged minds and active bodies.
Finally, there is lots of laughter at Highfield. You will hear lots of laughing and joking whenever you visit us. Whatever is happening in the world, a good belly laugh always makes things feel a little lighter and easier to cope with.
All the Team here at Highfield look forward to welcoming you soon.
