The staff are so important in a care home and every one has been so supportive and kind to mum. Anna on the front desk, Sheree and Damian on the management team, the senior nurses June and Irish, Joe and Sebastian - just to name a few out of so many.
Mum is moving out of Leonard Lodge now solely to move to another home that is closer to the family. We have so much to be thankful for all that Leonard Lodge have done.
Dear Chris,
Thank you so much for your kind words. I will pass your message to the team. It's been a pleasure to look after mum and I hope she will settle well in her new home.
Dad recieves excellent care and I always have peace of mind that he is being well-looked after at Leonard Lodge. The carers work very hard to ensure that he's comfortable, safe and happy and are prepared to feed him, however long it takes, on days when he can't manage it himself. The staff in all departments work extremely hard and are very friendly and caring. There are many activities arranged for the residents to bring happiness and enrichment. Thank you to everyone.
We are delighted to hear that your dad is happy, comfortable and well cared for at Leonard Lodge. It is especially rewarding to know that our staff's patience, compassion and dedication at mealtimes and throughout the day provide you...
The staff are lovely and really engage with her
They treat her like a human being.
Very impressed.
Thank you so much for your feedback; this was already passed to the team; we love having mum here.
The carers are lovely and have lots of time for mum.
Food is good.
Staff are lovely.
I would recommend to others most definately.
We really appreciate your feedback and we are very grateful.
Made our visit to my sister - very pleasant she is quite happy.
The new decor and carpets make the place look very welcoming and make the place look smart.
Thank you for your feedback and lovely praise of the staff, I will ensure all staff receive this feedback. We all very much enjoy looking after your Mother.
Cannot recommend enough, my dad was very well looked after and was very happy to stay for a weeks respite here. My dad felt like he was in a 5 star hotel and the staff were so helpful all the way throughout.
Thank you for your lovely feedback, this will be shared with the team. It was a pleasure to look after your dad and look forward to seeing him again soon.
I never wanted mum to go into a home but since being here she is actually happy again .
I honestly can relax and know she is well taken care of.
Staff really care and get to know the residents.
The lady's who run the entertainment side .
Completely throw themselves into their role, they know all residents likes and dislikes but more than that they include every resident.
Thank you for your feedback, I will ensure all of your amazing feedback is shared with the team.
I first viewed Leonard's Lodge on an open day and was very impressed with the show round. I have been a carer for my brother for 2years but there had been a rapid decline in his health, diagnosed with dementia February 2024, I was advised by his GP to try respite care. I was offered a room at Leonard Lodge for 4 weeks which was successful so the decision was made to make the arrangement permanent commencing 15th May. I have experienced nothing but kindness from all the staff making the transition a smooth one. My brother is enjoying his new home, he is well catered for and safe.
Thank you for your feedback, I will ensure all staff on Memory Lane are informed of your kind, positive words,
My eldest Sister 78 who sadly has dementia came into Leonard Lodge on January the 17th 2025 initially for 4 weeks respite care . She is now a permanent resident and has now been in there care for 10 weeks. I cannot praise Leonard Lodge enough. All the staff , management team , facilities , rooms , entertainment & activities ,decor , furniture are superb Top Class . My Sister is a different person after just a short time in residence and is now very happy and contented in her new home. It is a big decision to put your loved one into full time care but would recommend Leonard Lodge in Brentwood to anyone on that journey. My wife and are who are my Sisters full POA for both catagories live 10 minutes away from Leonard Lodge and we sleep easy at night knowing my Sister is getting top class care 24/7 . The staff keep you fully informed if there are any concerns and they deal with things very efficiently . I understand a high tech spa pool is currently being added to improve the facilities
Thank you for your feedback, it is a pleasure having your sister as part of our family at Leonard Lodge. I will ensure your lovely feedback is shared to all of the staffing team.
Very helpful caring staff.
Thank you for your feedback, we will ensure all feedback is relayed to staff.
All the staff on Memory Lane have made Dad feel very welcome, he settled into the home really quickly,
this was helped by the carers and staff being so friendly but very professional in the way they go about looking after him and all the residents, not to mention family members of the residents.
I cannot say a bad word about anything to do with Leonard Lodge, we are all very happy.
Thank you your feedback and lovely words regarding our staff on Memory Lane. Your kind words will be shared with the team.
My husband is extremely physically disabled and has vascular dementia. He's been a resident in Barchester Leonard Lodge Care Home for thirteen months where he's received efficient, kind and compassionate care from all the staff. The carers and nurses are friendly and approachable if I have any queries or concerns. Always supportive. My husband can join in very few activities but when he's able he's encouraged by the excellent team of activity ladies. He appears content, enjoys the companionship of the staff and eats well - never complains! This all gives me peace of mind. Thank you.
Thank you for your feedback and your kind words. I will ensure this is passed to staff.
There are organised activities that she likes to participate in and now and again she has enjoyed outings in the minibus.
Mum says she enjoys the food (it always looks good). She likes to be helped to the garden when the weather is nice. It's a lovely, peaceful area where she can enjoy the flowers, birds and fresh air with other residents she has become friends with. If the weather is bad there are areas within the home she can enjoy outside of her own room.
Thank you for your feedback, I will ensure all staff are aware of your positive comments.
My husband was admitted to Leonard Lodge a month ago and so far I have been very impressed with the care he is given. He is always clean and well-groomed. The staff are kind and willing to listen to any concerns. Nothing is too much trouble for them. He settled down surprisingly quickly and his mental state has actually improved. The activities team work hard to provide a variety of events throughout the week and encourage relatives to participate. This keeps the residents stimulated. In addition, they provide occasional outings in the minibus to suitable venues.
Thank you for your feedback, I will ensure staff receive your positive comments.
The manager is polite and has a passion for dementia which requires specialist understanding of a very complex and upsetting illness.
The office staff have been helpful and I have felt my concerns have been listened to and actioned.
The chef did Mum a lovely tea for her 95th and I know she was touched by this.
The activities are varied and Mum has been encouraged to join in, although she cannot remember, she obviously has a good rapport with staff.
Thank you for your lovely feedback, we will ensure that all staff receive this valued feedback.
After careful research including talking to management, friends and relations of previous residents and visiting, we moved my wife into Memory Lane. I have found that the management team through all the nurses, carers, entertainers and all the other support staff that look after the residents and their needs are working to a very high standard. I cannot praise them high enough for the high standards they attain and the level of care and friendliness they give to all including friends and relations of residents. Very well done and keep up the excellent work.
Thank you for your lovely comments and feedback, I will ensure that all the staff are informed of your comments.
Mum is well looked after. She seems generally happy and contented. Staff are friendly and attentive and are very patient, especially when dealing with residents who have dementia. There are always plenty of activities taking place.
Thank you for your feedback, I will ensure your comments are passed on to all staff.
I chose Leonard Lodge Care Home because my aunt had at one time been cared for on the first floor of the home, and I had seen first-hand the care that was given. Another key reason for my decision was the proximity of the home to my own place of residence.
I find the staff who work on Memory Lane at Leonard Lodge to be very kind and helpful to residents, and their general care of them and the preparation of clients for their day to be exceptionally good.
My cousin’s happiness is of paramount importance to me. I know from asking her about her life at Leonard Lodge that she is comfortable staying at The Lodge. I can also see from my own visits that she has happily settled on Memory Lane.
Thank you for your feedback and the lovely comments, which I will pass on to the staff on Memory Lane.
Overall, I would recommend this care home. The staff are approachable, helpful and friendly, and I feel that my mother is in a safe place and being well cared for. Relatives and friends are able to visit at any time, which has definitely helped my mother to settle into a different way of life and means that she still feels connected with her family. As a team, I would say that the staff work well together and try their very best to accommodate the individual needs of the residents.
Thank you for your feedback; it is lovely to hear that your mother has settled in well.

Meet the Team (8)

I started working at Leonard Lodge in 2001 and this year will receive my 20-year Long Service Award. I commenced as a registered nurse and moved into the Unit Managers position in January 2002.
As well as being an RGN I am also a qualified Mental Health Nurse. My keen interest in dementia care means that I work very closely with relatives and health care professionals to ensure that we are providing the very best personalised care for each of our residents.

hello, My name is Zheira and I am a registered nurse here at Leonard Lodge.

My name is Lynn and I lead the Activities Team here at Leonard Lodge.
Since working at Leonard Lodge I have dedicated myself to ensuring that each of our residents can continue to partake in the hobbies that they have enjoyed for years. It is important that all of the residents here have access to life enriching, fun and social activities.
The whole home supports my team and I to organise activities, events and entertainment tailored to every residents preferences, abilities and needs. Each year we have a fantastically full calendar, and we look forward to the future when we can invite the families of residents to join us in the home again.
I am married with two children and two rather annoying rescue cats. I lived in Italy for a number of years and love all Italian food, especially when somebody else cooks it for me! I love to read, especially crime novels. I am a regular theatre goer with a passion for musicals. I like to sing and dance (albeit badly!).

Hello, My name is Angela and I am part of the activities team here at Leonard Lodge.

I have worked in the care sector as a Nursing Home Administrator for the past ten years. I very much enjoy working in an environment where we can make a difference - each and every one of us - to our resident's daily life.
I worked in London for the first six years of my career as a Records Clerk with the British Medical Association. I was fortunate enough to meet Prince Charles who was our Honorary President, at a Grand Ball held in his honour. I then progressed to being the Records Officer at Gray’s Inn.
I now have a lovely granddaughter, who takes up a lot of my spare time and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I have worked at Leonard Lodge since the doors originally opened. I started as a Laundry Assistant and have worked my way up to Head Housekeeper. I pride myself in ensuring a clean, fresh and inviting environment for residents, visitors and staff.
I have also received my 20 year Long Service Award, which was presented at our anniversary party.

Hello, My name is Allison, my mum is a resident here and I decided to become a volunteer so I could spend time with Mum whilst also supporting our residents.
I have have been busy working with the home to ensure the residents can live their best life, I have been instrumental in setting up a Leonard Lodge coffee morning which takes place every Thursday at 10 am. The coffee morning is free to attend and everyone is welcome. There is always free tea, coffee and cakes.

Hi, I am Corina, the General Manager at Leonard Lodge.
I have 10 years of leadership experience gained from nursing, residential, and dementia care services in the UK. I have a strong track record of improving care homes, achieving positive CQC outcomes, and leading multi-site operations across Essex and London.
Throughout my career, I have developed expertise in regulatory compliance, safeguarding, clinical governance, and operational management. With a background as a Registered Nurse and senior care leader, I am passionate about person-centred care, staff development, and continuous improvement.
I strongly believe that people should be cared for holistically, taking into account what makes them who they are as individuals. Building meaningful relationships with residents, staff, relatives, and external stakeholders is extremely important to me, as I believe working in partnership is essential to delivering the best possible outcomes for everyone involved in the home. I also see myself as a strong advocate for residents, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care, particularly those who are unable to communicate their needs or those living with dementia. I take pride in supporting and empowering others to be the best they can be within their roles, creating positive and high-performing teams.
