Ashley Lodge Care Home in New Milton, Hampshire offers 24/7 residential care, elderly care, end of life care, respite care and general nursing care, as well as dementia care.

All round excellent outstanding welcoming care home. My mum has been in Ashley Lodge since 2013 and I can't speak highly enough of all the staff and manager, from the outstanding nursing care my mum receives to the food, communication, activities, to the cleanliness of Ashley Lodge. Very dedicated professional
caring and friendly staff each and everyone of them nothing is a problem to them and will always find time for you. The manager's door is always open for any concerns you may have and she is very approachable caring friendly and professional. I have peace of mind my mum is being taken very good care of she is happy and content and safe which means a lot to me. I would 100% recommend this home.

My mother went into Ashley Lodge for the last month of her life - a difficult and stressful time for us as a family. I am a retired registered nurse, so my standards are high! However, I found that my mother was treated with kindness and respect, the nursing care exemplary. I am so glad she spent her
final days here. It could not have been better for her - and for me, because the worry was taken away. I was confident she was in good hands.

The staff are very friendly, polite and helpful. They have contacted us when the need arises. As we do not see Mum on a very regular basis, we would welcome a half-yearly update report/assessment. It would help us to understand the extent of Mum's deterioration.
We pay money into Mum's account for
toiletries, treats, hairdresser, chiropodist etc but we haven't received any account statements. We would like to receive statements (say quarterly) showing payments in, outgoings and account balance.

It's the first time I visited my friend at Ashley Lodge Care Home, my first impression was no awful smell as I entered (like in many homes), the warm welcome was not overdone and first name terms to family members, knowing who they were visiting immediately. The number of staff on duty was good to see
and the general buzz around, we were offered tea at the time the residents had theirs. All in all, I was impressed by the care. Thank you on my friend's behalf for her comfort.

I have found Ashley Lodge to be a caring, loving home for my mother who is now 101 years old. Any queries are met by the management efficiently and communication is good. Staff are friendly, caring and welcoming and I would definitely recommend this home to others.

My father was admitted in April 2021 for palliative care. Throughout he was treated with dignity and outstanding care, despite most of his time being bedbound, not a bed sore ever.
The carers knew him - really knew him and all about him and his life.
The staff supported us, his family, whole-heartedly.

Took my mum from hospital to Ashley Lodge. As we drove down the driveway and approached the main entrance I noticed a welcome party. As we pulled up and stopped in the car, one lady introduced herself as the manager of the home. And the other two ladies gave us their names and then opened the car door
to help my mum out of the passenger seat. We were impressed that the manager had taken the time to welcome us. It made us feel like VIPs. The home is very nice and the staff are willing to help. So far very impressed.

My Mum entered Ashley Lodge 3 1/2 years ago with dementia and enjoyed the activities and outings. Gradually as her dementia increased and she required more help and nursing we always found all the staff treated Mum with respect and care. In the last year or so Mum was unable to walk unaided yet when
we visited she was always neat and clean in bed. Mum always loved having her hair set every week and staff brushed and cut her hair. Staff contacted us if health problems arose, medication changes, vaccines, and covid-19 changes.

I visited with my partner. The staff were all very professional, kind, and caring during our visit. I hadn’t appreciated how much effort it is for them to prepare for visitors, but they made the process as seamless as possible and were very happy to see us. Our Covid tests were checked on arrival (by
showing the date on the NHS email we’d received that morning). Our temperatures were checked. We were then given a big plastic box each that had a disposable mask, gloves, and apron in for us to put on before we entered. Once we were in the reception a member of the team picked up 2 chairs for us that had a label with ‘clean’ written on them. He then took us to see our relative and laid the chairs out for us to use. The lady who brought our relative the afternoon tea round was also very kind and helpful. Thank you all.

A highly professional but also extremely compassionate team. Unfailingly courteous and kind to both my sister and her relations. My sister had vascular dementia and needed very high levels of care towards the end of her life. I never felt other than confident in entrusting her to their care. In her

This was my first visit in person since my dad went into the home in February. I found the staff to be not only efficient but also warm and encouraging. I left feeling that my dad was being well looked after as an individual. He seemed very content. I am looking forward to my ongoing relationship with
all at the home. The member of staff who greeted me was particularly helpful, teaching me how to do my Covid test.

I stayed for 2 weeks in this lovely care home while waiting for my husband to arrive in the UK. Before arriving at the place, they asked me about my food preferences because they thought I eat halal foods. It was a good impression on my part because I felt like they are very considerate of my needs
and preferences. The room set up feels homely and cosy. I feel like I am at my own house as I have the privacy I needed. With regards to food choices, they have a variety of servings daily. Too bad though that I was on quarantine throughout my whole stay so I haven't experienced their weekly activities. However, they gave me good selections of colouring books, puzzles and mind games to keep me busy. The staff are approachable and caring. Overall, the experience was lovely.

I am writing this for my wife who is unable to carry out this task. She was diagnosed as having PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) in mid-2019. Our family was fully agreeable that we should provide domicilic support with her husband as carer, which we did for 18 months until the task became too difficult
to manage and obviously needed expert attention. With guidance, we settled on Ashley Lodge Care Home as being the best solution, and into which she moved in December 2020 and has settled down extremely well. Our family is extremely pleased that we made this decision.

I have made several phone calls and visits to Ashley Lodge where my friend is a resident. Because of Covid, I could not enter the home but when delivering items for my friend and making telephone contact I was always greeted by friendly, efficient and informative staff.

I have worked as a member of the kitchen team at Ashley Lodge since 2018 and in July 2019 I was promoted to Chef Manager.


I love to take time to meet the new residents and find out about the food they like to eat, as I believe mealtimes are one of the most important times in our home.


My spare time is spent socialising and cooking for my friends and I also love to spend time at the beach.

Job Title: Care Assistant Joined: 2020

Cathy spent most of her working career in a high-powered corporate job in the motor trade industry. After moving to a new area, semi-retired, she took a part-time role in a local bar. During lockdown, she wasn’t working and saw a lot of adverts on TV about the care industry and really wanted to help her local community, so she applied to work as a Home Assistant in our lovely home. “I really wanted to give something back to my community and I haven’t looked back! From kitchen work to housekeeping – I’ve done a bit of everything to help and I’ve loved it! I previously visited a care home when one of my relatives was in care and I couldn’t wait to get out of the place, but I’ve never had that feeling at Ashley Lodge. I walked in and the home was clean and tidy, the residents were lovely, and the staff were just so welcoming.”


“I love having a chat with our residents when I can but being part of making a difference to their lives is my favourite thing about working here. A few weeks ago the kitchen team served mince pies at afternoon tea and one of our residents was so excited! He told me how much he loves them, so I spoke to the kitchen and got him some extra ones and his face just lit up, he was so happy! It’s the little things that can make a huge difference to their day and I go home happy knowing that I made that happen.”
