Ashley Lodge Care Home in New Milton, Hampshire offers 24/7 residential care, elderly care, end of life care, respite care and general nursing care, as well as dementia care.

During the time my mum was at Ashley Lodge Oakview residential unit she was treated as we would have treated her within our family.
I feel it was the "going beyond the call of duty" that made my mum and us feel so at home.
Nothing was ever too much.
When mum passed away, I was astonished by the care
and support we received as a family.
Mum had the best care I could have possibly asked for.
Thank you to the staff in Oakview and Ashley Lodge.

Oakview at Ashley Lodge Care Home provides a safe, clean environment for my mum who has deteriorated with her dementia during her stay there. Her personal needs are provided by trained staff so that she always appears clean and tidy. She is given a choice of balanced menus for mealtimes and anytime
I have seen or eaten the food it is very good.
They provide various entertainment although mum chooses not to join in everything.
The staff are always pleasant and speak kindly and encouragingly to mum. I find I can speak to staff at any time and there are regular resident/family/friends meetings where concerns can be raised. I love the Sunday afternoon monthly tea organised by the manager at Oakview as it has a more social feel. I feel they all look after mum very well!! Thanks.

When visiting my mother in her care home, I have always been impressed. All the staff are very kind, caring and patient. They are always welcoming and a calmness surrounds the home. My relative is always clean and the room is tidy.

Which, in turn, has made life easier for me to be able to cope with the fact that he had to leave our home. So we end

My sister spent her last 15 months at Ashley Lodge. She needed total physical care, all day in a wheelchair and needing a hoist to transfer. Mentally, she suffered some short-term memory loss and increasing dementia. One day her usual self and another sunk in the deepest depression, so caring for her
was never easy.


The trained nurses, always one on duty, were excellent and endlessly patient when she was being difficult about taking medication. The day to day care nursing varied in competence with the constant changes of staff, some with poor English, but I never heard anyone being impatient with her. I visited several times a week and was always made welcome.

My wife has been at Ashley Lodge for 1 1/2 years now, following complications following a stroke.


I am very happy with the care my wife receives and she enjoys talking and interacting with all the staff.


The care here at Ashley Lodge is given by outstanding staff who are always doing much more

than is expected of them.


The care comes from the heart and this is reflected in an outstanding team of staff.

My husband is treated with kindness and respect by staff and is never treated unkindly by anyone.
My concerns (of all types) are addressed as soon as it is possible to do so.
Maybe some extra physio would help him. He is still smiling!

My mother has settled into Ashley Lodge very well and is happy and well cared for. The staff are so caring and treat my mum as their own.


I particularly like the open room door policy - there is always someone walking by and waving, saying hello.


The food is excellent, although Mum doesn't eat

much. Very satisfied with her care.

The home has a lovely calm, relaxed atmosphere with exceptionally caring, compassionate staff who treat residents with utmost dignity. They cannot do enough to help and are always very supportive when you want to discuss the care of a resident. I can't praise them enough.

All my visits to the nursing home have been unannounced. I have seen staff dealing so well with Dementia patients.
Dementia care is very challenging and in some ways unrewarding, but end of life care is so important.
My friend has had good care but is now nearing the end of life.
The nursing staff
respect the patients, they seem positive and cheerful in what must be a hard work situation. I cannot comment on some items because I am not the patients family.

I visit my husband 5 or more times a week and have always been impressed by the staff consistency of approach as led by management. Without exception, I have only ever seen staff treating residents with kindness, consideration for individual needs and with dignity.
My husband has settled so well and
is supported to be as able as possible within his levels of dementia which can fluctuate temporarily.

My mother has been at this home for 8 years now. All in all, everything is as it should be but there have been a few blips over the years, 14 to now. The nursing and care maintenance staff are very pleasant and do their job. Catering staff are good, glad we now have a decent chef as that was a problem
a while ago. My only concern is the way some things are written in the daily charts. Mum is 100% reliable on the staff, but they say they assist in giving her a wash or food. This has not been good for us as we're trying for complete funding and the people doing this interpret this differently.

My brother has been in care now for 12 months, during which time he has received more care and attention than he would have had at home with me.
He is very content there and the staff are very very good with him - despite going down hill - due to old age and dementia, they treat him as an individual
being not as a chore.
I consider myself lucky to have found such a wonderful home for him.

I was born and raised in the village of Ashley so when the opportunity came up to make a difference to one of my local care homes, I grabbed it with both hands.


I’m a great believer in giving something back so spend a lot of time raising money for both local and national charities.

Cathy spent most of her working career in a high-powered corporate job in the motor trade industry. After moving to a new area, semi-retired, she took a part-time role in a local bar. During lockdown, she wasn’t working and saw a lot of adverts on TV about the care industry and really wanted to help her local community, so she applied to work as a Home Assistant in our lovely home. “I really wanted to give something back to my community and I haven’t looked back! From kitchen work to housekeeping – I’ve done a bit of everything to help and I’ve loved it! I previously visited a care home when one of my relatives was in care and I couldn’t wait to get out of the place, but I’ve never had that feeling at Ashley Lodge. I walked in and the home was clean and tidy, the residents were lovely, and the staff were just so welcoming.”


“I love having a chat with our residents when I can but being part of making a difference to their lives is my favourite thing about working here. A few weeks ago the kitchen team served mince pies at afternoon tea and one of our residents was so excited! He told me how much he loves them, so I spoke to the kitchen and got him some extra ones and his face just lit up, he was so happy! It’s the little things that can make a huge difference to their day and I go home happy knowing that I made that happen.”
