Purpose-built in an 'arts and crafts' style, Belmore Lodge occupies a stately position close to the historic market town of Lymington, which nestles between the beautiful south coast and the wonderful New Forest.

Residents enjoy companionship and can join in with singing, music, exercise and arts and crafts sessions. There is the opportunity for gentle gardening activities in the summer sunshine, and there is a busy pen pal scheme.
The home is registered for nursing care and staffed by dedicated nurses and health care professionals with extensive experience in caring for age-related conditions and fully trained in infection control.

Designed and furnished with a country house feel, Belmore Lodge offers 55 en-suite bedrooms, a number of comfortable lounges and a dining room overlooking the manicured gardens.

There are also well-equipped kitchenettes on each floor for both residents and their visitors' use. There is a cafe serving tea, coffee and cake and part of this room make up the activities area, complete with games and books.

The home has a unique ambience where it is not unusual to experience a sense of calm alongside the frequent sound of laughter.

My first experience of a care home, recovering from a serious operation. I was welcomed by all and cannot find anything to criticise. I was a resident for seven weeks. The nursing care following my hospital stay was excellent. The decoration in the home lounges and common areas was more like a high-end
hotel than I imagined a home to be. The food was tasty and different, I can't remember having the same dish twice. The homemade soups were especially good. All in all, if I have to come back to a care home it would have to Belmore Lodge without question.

My mother was a resident at Belmore Lodge for a number of years. During the later days of her life, as she had problems with dementia, she was at times a difficult resident. Despite this, the staff at all times treated her with love, respect and compassion. I shall always be grateful for the care she

I am really pleased with the care which my mother receives at Belmore Lodge. The staff genuinely care about her, which is crucial. The home cleanliness and facilities are very good. The activities seem to be varied and plentiful. There has been a recent change in management, so it will be interesting

We found Belmore Lodge to be very welcoming and accommodating. Nothing has been too much trouble for us or for him. The calibre of care staff is high. There appears to be a good level of staffing. There is always someone available who has the time and interest to address any concerns regarding Mum.
The feel of the place is calm and relaxed, even though staff are clearly busy. A good balance!

Mum has been at Belmore Lodge from March to early May. She has been so very happy there. She often says how wonderful all the staff are, and the food is outstanding, very important to her!
Although she is returning to her home, if it doesn't work out, she is more than happy to return to live at Belmore

Mum has been at Belmore for a few months now. When she arrived she really liked it although struggling a little with leaving her home of 64 years behind. Initially very withdrawn, staying in her room almost exclusively. Including all meals.
Also never wanted to mix with residents.
Eventually, my sister
persuaded her to join a group activity one morning.
She thoroughly enjoyed it.
The next day I persuaded her to take part in the morning Activity. Brilliant everyone was fantastic and very understanding, including her so much. She even led the group in a song.
The staff are now getting her involved as often as possible and she’s responding so well.
Care, patience, understanding, quality and fun are so much part of my Mum’s life now.
So very pleased with Belmore lodge.

As circumstances forced my darling partner to reside in a nursing home after a severe stroke left him aphasic and right side paralysed. I am glad it was Belmore Lodge. the home and gardens themselves are a great help to feeling positive, the colours and furnishings particularly well-chosen with the
garden providing a diversion and suntrap. Obviously, the staff are Belmore's strength lies and in departments from cleaning and laundry to Nursing, activities, dining room staff and careers virtually everybody over the 10 years was extremely kind and considerate, giving valuable care, support and good-natured teasing to my partner which allowed such a humorous and independent man the freedom in so far as he could to have a life in and outside the home. To share despite his lack of speech, genuine interaction and relationship with staff members. Many of whom went above and beyond care for him. The pandemic lockdowns and my partners' 2/3 bouts of hospitalisation placed added burdens on them. The reception was a tower of strength helping residents' relatives maintain some kind of contact.

Looking after, supporting and nursing a loved one at home is a value bestowed on us and think nobody else could ever come near with the empathy we give our dearest.
When the time comes and the decision has to be made no matter how emotional it be you look for the best in the satisfaction that you have
done the best.
My wife and I recently had to come to terms that we needed support after her mother had a diagnosis that required nursing care and 24hr support.
Belmore Lodge was to be her destination, a place that can only bring comfort in knowing your loved one is safe and that you have made a good choice.
I cannot fault it from the genuine empathetic staff, cleanliness and attention to detail around the site and rooms giving you a feeling that they are not only there for the residents but to support you as well with concerns.
The experience we have had with Belmore Lodge has made it easier to come to terms with, staff are genuine dedicated people and the setup run with the same dedication.

My father needed to go into a care home at short notice after losing his mobility. The team at Colten responded exceptionally quickly and we had him settled in within 48 hours. The staff are exceptionally caring and attentive, the food is good and the team have been able to provide physiotherapy sessions
quickly when other options weren't possible. I can't recommend Belmore Lodge highly enough. Thank you to the entire team.

Belmore Lodge is a truly exceptional home. I had to find somewhere for my father very quickly and the staff at Belmore made this happen seamlessly.
Once at Belmore Lodge all the lovely, helpful, friendly staff went above and beyond to care for my father and literally nurse him back to health.
The
home itself has a wonderful atmosphere. There is a pretty garden and the rooms themselves are well set out and offer all you need.
If you are looking for a care home where you never have to worry about whether your loved one is being well cared for and is happy, look no further. My father was sad to leave this kind, happy and outstandingly professional home. We simply can not thank the staff enough for all they did.

I spent about 8 weeks in Belmore to recuperate from a broken ankle, my wife stayed for about 12 weeks for respite care. We were looked after by a wonderful team of carers, all staff are very caring, helpful and friendly. The admin staff went out of their way to provide help and encouragement. All meals
were very enjoyable, with a good choice of menus. We would recommend Belmore highly.

Thank you for caring for my brother-in-law for the last 2 and a half years. I was extremely pleased with the conditions in Belmore Lodge and for the care and consideration given for his end of life experience, by all the staff. I know he was not always the easiest of patients, but he frequently told
me how appreciative he was. You may wish to review the link to a primary point of contact for GP, hospital and other support facilities - particularly difficult with COVID-19. Visitors' lunches were much appreciated. I end by saying Belmore Lodge was excellent - so many thanks.

Belmore Lodge provides an excellent level of service in a caring and friendly environment. Staff in the home - both nursing and support staff - are always prepared to go the extra mile, and the actions from the parent company Colten Care has been excellent through the Coronavirus crisis, taking sensible
and proportionate precautions and keeping residents and family well-informed. My mother-in-law has lived here happily for nine years now and in that time we have always felt extremely comfortable that she is well cared for and her needs being met in a personal and supportive way. A very good experience. I was admitted in a wheelchair still feeling very unwell after 2 weeks in hospital. Six weeks of good care, R&R has made a great difference, also the nutritious food and chef kindly making me special diabetic desserts. Great advice from the nurses and all the staff very kind
and cheerful.
The activities help to get you going but if you want to be quiet you can be. Loved the garden.

I have been amazed at how well all the staff have looked after the residents during such a difficult time during the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been a worrying time for both residents and staff but the staff has always gone the extra mile - reassuring the residents about the virus and their concerns
about their families, arranging extra activities and adapting to the new clinical advice. Enquiries after residents are always answered positively and cheerfully, whether it be via the nurse or reception taking mobile phones to a resident. The management have taken every care to keep residents’ families up to date with the government and the company’s response to the pandemic which has been both honest and reassuring.
Amongst all this my mother’s 101st Birthday was celebrated with balloons, a special cake and a Skype call to us. Although we couldn’t visit due to government restrictions then, we all felt we had shared her special day. A big thank you to every member of staff at Belmore.
