My mother has been a resident at Belmore Lodge for several years and has always been extremely happy in the home. The staff and management are very friendly, helpful and caring. We have often had lunch with my mother at the home and the food is excellent.

I am really pleased with the care which my mother receives at Belmore Lodge. The staff genuinely care about her, which is crucial. The home cleanliness and facilities are very good. The activities seem to be varied and plentiful. There has been a recent change in management, so it will be interesting to see how this works out. Overall - good.

We found Belmore Lodge to be very welcoming and accommodating. Nothing has been too much trouble for us or for him. The calibre of care staff is high. There appears to be a good level of staffing. There is always someone available who has the time and interest to address any concerns regarding Mum. The feel of the place is calm and relaxed, even though staff are clearly busy. A good balance!

Mum has been at Belmore Lodge from March to early May. She has been so very happy there. She often says how wonderful all the staff are, and the food is outstanding, very important to her!

Although she is returning to her home, if it doesn't work out, she is more than happy to return to live at Belmore Lodge indefinitely. Thank you all for your care.

Mum has been at Belmore for a few months now. When she arrived she really liked it although struggling a little with leaving her home of 64 years behind. Initially very withdrawn, staying in her room almost exclusively. Including all meals.
Also never wanted to mix with residents.
Eventually, my sister persuaded her to join a group activity one morning.
She thoroughly enjoyed it.
The next day I persuaded her to take part in the morning Activity. Brilliant everyone was fantastic and very understanding, including her so much. She even led the group in a song.
The staff are now getting her involved as often as possible and she’s responding so well.
Care, patience, understanding, quality and fun are so much part of my Mum’s life now.

So very pleased with Belmore lodge.

As circumstances forced my darling partner to reside in a nursing home after a severe stroke left him aphasic and right side paralysed. I am glad it was Belmore Lodge. the home and gardens themselves are a great help to feeling positive, the colours and furnishings particularly well-chosen with the garden providing a diversion and suntrap. Obviously, the staff are Belmore's strength lies and in departments from cleaning and laundry to Nursing, activities, dining room staff and careers virtually everybody over the 10 years was extremely kind and considerate, giving valuable care, support and good-natured teasing to my partner which allowed such a humorous and independent man the freedom in so far as he could to have a life in and outside the home. To share despite his lack of speech, genuine interaction and relationship with staff members. Many of whom went above and beyond care for him. The pandemic lockdowns and my partners' 2/3 bouts of hospitalisation placed added burdens on them. The reception was a tower of strength helping residents' relatives maintain some kind of contact.

Looking after, supporting and nursing a loved one at home is a value bestowed on us and think nobody else could ever come near with the empathy we give our dearest.
When the time comes and the decision has to be made no matter how emotional it be you look for the best in the satisfaction that you have done the best.
My wife and I recently had to come to terms that we needed support after her mother had a diagnosis that required nursing care and 24hr support.
Belmore Lodge was to be her destination, a place that can only bring comfort in knowing your loved one is safe and that you have made a good choice.
I cannot fault it from the genuine empathetic staff, cleanliness and attention to detail around the site and rooms giving you a feeling that they are not only there for the residents but to support you as well with concerns.

The experience we have had with Belmore Lodge has made it easier to come to terms with, staff are genuine dedicated people and the setup run with the same dedication.

My father needed to go into a care home at short notice after losing his mobility. The team at Colten responded exceptionally quickly and we had him settled in within 48 hours. The staff are exceptionally caring and attentive, the food is good and the team have been able to provide physiotherapy sessions quickly when other options weren't possible. I can't recommend Belmore Lodge highly enough. Thank you to the entire team.

Belmore Lodge is a truly exceptional home. I had to find somewhere for my father very quickly and the staff at Belmore made this happen seamlessly.
Once at Belmore Lodge all the lovely, helpful, friendly staff went above and beyond to care for my father and literally nurse him back to health.
The home itself has a wonderful atmosphere. There is a pretty garden and the rooms themselves are well set out and offer all you need.

If you are looking for a care home where you never have to worry about whether your loved one is being well cared for and is happy, look no further. My father was sad to leave this kind, happy and outstandingly professional home. We simply can not thank the staff enough for all they did.

Reply from Julie House, Home Manager at Belmore Lodge

Thank you very much for your incredibly kind words. We all enjoyed looking after your father and should he require a respite or even a little company in the future we would be delighted to welcome him again for a stay or just a cup of tea and a slice of cake. I hope you all stay well and we will hopefully see you again.

I spent about 8 weeks in Belmore to recuperate from a broken ankle, my wife stayed for about 12 weeks for respite care. We were looked after by a wonderful team of carers, all staff are very caring, helpful and friendly. The admin staff went out of their way to provide help and encouragement. All meals were very enjoyable, with a good choice of menus. We would recommend Belmore highly.

Thank you for caring for my brother-in-law for the last 2 and a half years. I was extremely pleased with the conditions in Belmore Lodge and for the care and consideration given for his end of life experience, by all the staff. I know he was not always the easiest of patients, but he frequently told me how appreciative he was. You may wish to review the link to a primary point of contact for GP, hospital and other support facilities - particularly difficult with COVID-19. Visitors' lunches were much appreciated. I end by saying Belmore Lodge was excellent - so many thanks.

Belmore Lodge provides an excellent level of service in a caring and friendly environment. Staff in the home - both nursing and support staff - are always prepared to go the extra mile, and the actions from the parent company Colten Care has been excellent through the Coronavirus crisis, taking sensible and proportionate precautions and keeping residents and family well-informed. My mother-in-law has lived here happily for nine years now and in that time we have always felt extremely comfortable that she is well cared for and her needs being met in a personal and supportive way. Highly recommended.

A very good experience. I was admitted in a wheelchair still feeling very unwell after 2 weeks in hospital. Six weeks of good care, R&R has made a great difference, also the nutritious food and chef kindly making me special diabetic desserts. Great advice from the nurses and all the staff very kind and cheerful.

The activities help to get you going but if you want to be quiet you can be. Loved the garden.

I have been amazed at how well all the staff have looked after the residents during such a difficult time during the COVID-19 pandemic. It has been a worrying time for both residents and staff but the staff has always gone the extra mile - reassuring the residents about the virus and their concerns about their families, arranging extra activities and adapting to the new clinical advice. Enquiries after residents are always answered positively and cheerfully, whether it be via the nurse or reception taking mobile phones to a resident. The management have taken every care to keep residents’ families up to date with the government and the company’s response to the pandemic which has been both honest and reassuring.

Amongst all this my mother’s 101st Birthday was celebrated with balloons, a special cake and a Skype call to us. Although we couldn’t visit due to government restrictions then, we all felt we had shared her special day. A big thank you to every member of staff at Belmore.

We knew three people who'd been here and who all recommended it, so when care was needed we went to visit and liked it immediately. It is clean and well cared for and had no smell of urine. The staff are extremely kind and caring not just to my partner but me as well. His room was bright and cheerful with lovely patio doors and his own bathroom. I was able to visit whenever I wanted, so stayed with him for many hours and was always served tea/coffee with him. There is a lovely lounge on the top floor where family members in larger groups were happy to join us. He was very comfortable and content and I would highly recommend it here to everyone.

My mother was diagnosed with cancer and was admitted to Belmore Lodge for palliative care. My father was also admitted so that he could be with my mother during her final days.
