Our Mum moved to independent living at Brendoncare eight years ago. She was independent and kept herself busy. When she needed more help the Close Care team were able to assist with her needs. She was really happy with the care and friendship they provided for her, she felt safe knowing she could call for assistance 24 hours a day.
When she became unwell and needed more care, she moved to the nursing home. This transition was smooth and easy for her as she was able to choose her own room and already knew some of the staff.
The care and consideration of her as a person during her time on Chawton was everything we as a family could have wished for. Everyone was helpful and supportive during her last few weeks which made it easier for us and Mum when she passed.

So a big Thank you to all at Brendoncare Alton.

Our Mum has lived independently in one of BrendonCare's apartments for the past 12 years, receiving exactly the right level of care and support throughout her time there. Now, at the age of 93, she has recently moved from her independent apartment into BrendonCare's on-campus care setting, and our family is absolutely delighted with how smoothly the team has managed her transition.

She has settled in beautifully. It's clear she is enjoying her new life - living alongside fellow residents, surrounded by gentle, thoughtful support from the carers and nurses. The BrendonCare team have been unbelievable in their kindness, professionalism, and attention to her wellbeing.

We would not hesitate to recommend BrendonCare. All our family are deeply grateful for the care they have shown Mum and for the peace of mind they've given us.

Brendoncare provides an excellent standard of care for both my parents. Most importantly, the staff are caring and compassionate, and communicate details of my parents' well-being and treatment needs to me on a regular and timely basis. The home and the residents' rooms are modern and comfortable. The grounds are well tended and attractive. Brendoncare is continually investing in the maintenance of the building (new kitchens for instance in 2025), and gardens (currently undergoing major redesign). I feel a weight is off my shoulders knowing my parents are safe, comfortable and well cared for.

I am very satisfied with the care Miriam is receiving. I visit about 2/3 times per week and am always welcome and many times offered tea or coffee. I am kept well informed about Miriam's health. She is in Ropley dementia home. She likes music, singing and dancing and is therefore very happy with the activities provided. The staff/management are all extremely pleasant and have good experience in dealing with dementia sufferers.

My Aunt was wonderfully cared for during what proved to be the last months of her life. She had vascular dementia, worsened by a recent a stroke, but was still very much herself. She joined Brendoncare Alton after a less than ideal experience at a home elsewhere. From our first visit and the warm welcome at Reception we could tell the atmosphere was very caring and positive. The Assistant Manager was excellent, explaining how everything works. The admin office was also marvelous and patient at sorting out the admission, contract, billing etc. We visited often and were impressed each time by the senior medical staff and the care team who were all kind, thoughtful, calm and cheerful (something I'd rarely seen before). They very quickly got to know my aunt and her needs. The local GP support was also excellent.

We were happy that she was so content and well cared for and I can't recommend this home and its team highly enough.

A huge thank you for the wonderful care given to my husband during a short stay for palliative care, weekend 23rd to 27th August 2024. He was cared for by a team of kind day and night nurses, until he died on the 27th. I and my family were dealt with love and dignity from all other members of the staff whilst looking after my husband too, we cannot praise them enough. Brendoncare is a wonderful place very welcoming, warm and friendly in a lovely setting.

My mother-in-law experienced a fantastic eight months at Brendoncare Alton.
They "get" dementia. She went from lying in bed at home to partaking in activities she enjoyed in a loving community.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home to anyone with a relative with dementia.

Highly motivated, caring staff who really want the best for those they look after and their families and friends.

My father is 94 years old and has been a member of the Brendoncare Alton community for approximately eight years. He started out in a residents private flat with optional care levels which rose over time. More recently, he has benefitted from close care as his health and ability to get around has deteriorated.

At all times of his stay, he has enjoyed a fantastic level of care and attention from the staff and management. They have gone above and beyond what would normally be expected of them. I would definitely recommend Brendoncare Alton to anyone considering moving to a care home of its type.

My mother has required two periods of respite care when recovering from a hip replacement. We chose Brendoncare because my father is a long-term resident in the home. We were not sure how it would go but it has been a great success. For my father, there is the comfort of knowing that his wife is close by. For my mother it has been easy to visit my father. But each time my mother has come out looking a completely different person. She is a big fan of the food and has put on a few pounds which is a positive. My mother has early stage dementia but it is not easy being in a home when most residents have advanced dementia, despite this, the staff have given my mother all the support she could have wished for and she has coped well, which is a huge testament to the quality of the care that she is receiving.

Brendoncare Alton helped us at a difficult time. They were friendly and encouraging from our first meeting. Our mother agreed to leave her home and move. We felt confident that Brendoncare would take good care of her.
Every member of staff we met was kind and charming.
The nurses worked so hard to stabilise our mother when she arrived and make her last few days more comfortable. Without exception, all the carers were lovely too.
Another example of the kindness that runs through Brendoncare is the chef who really wanted to give our mother something to eat that she would enjoy and on the last day of her life, got some delicious ice cream to give her a boost. Our mother loved it and ate it all.
I am sorry that our mother didn't have long to settle in and enjoy her time as there is obviously a very positive and lively life to be had.

When she died, the night staff were again so kind, reassuring and professional. We had great confidence in them caring for her with dignity.

I cannot speak highly enough of the experience we have had so far with Brendoncare Alton. They were so supportive with the transfer from another home, meaning our mum is now closer and we can spend more time together. So far we have experienced very kind staff members and a very high standard of cleanliness. There has never been an unpleasant odour, which I feel reflects their commitment to keeping everything hygienically clean.

I would recommend Brendoncare Alton to anyone that is looking to find a caring, comfortable home for a loved one.

I initially started my career with Brendoncare as a care assistant and was inspired to go onto my nurse training and returned as an RN after a few years in the NHS. I then furthered my career becoming Brendoncare’s deputy manager.

One of my main interests is long term care of people living with dementia and how we can support them and their families. I attended various dementia workshops and took what I learnt into creating a dementia workshop programme for the staff at Alton to give them the knowledge, skills and confidence to help them give effective and meaningful care.

I am now Brendoncare’s Dementia Lead but have returned to Alton as its interim manager.

Both my mother and my grandmother had a passion for caring and their dedication to helping other people inspired me to train as a nurse. After having worked in two private settings, I started working in social care in 2015 and joined Brendoncare in 2018 as Deputy Manager. I am deeply passionate about making a positive impact in people's lives, especially in a field where understanding, empathy and support are crucial.

Outside work, I enjoy spending time with my family and watching my young daughter growing up and exploring the world around her. My husband restores classic cars and we enjoy going to car races and shows and have even won some international competitions.
