The staff appear to be very friendly and helpful. keeping you informed and caring for my Dad's needs 24/7. Keep up the good work and care. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind words, I appreciate your feedback and I am always here should you wish to speak to me.
The home has looked after my father for nearly 2 years. All of the staff are friendly and the care is excellent. There is always a good range of activities for the residents which are tailored well to their needs. The nursing care is first class and the nurses knowledgeable and caring. My father has always been happy at Challoner. The administration has always been efficient and accurate, with any issues quickly sorted. Dad has always been listened to and any suggestions acted upon and sorted. He feels safe and looked after which is important for him and the family.
Thank you so much for your kind comments. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. My door is open should you wish to chat with me.
Challoner House is a comfortable, attractive home with lovely gardens. According to my relative, food is a bit hit and miss. The nursing and care team do an excellent job, especially during these trying times. The manager keeps families fully informed of what is happening in the home. Overall a good home.
Thank you so much for your feedback, we appreciate all the comments and will take actions where you feel things are not satisfactory. My door is always open should you wish to discuss anything with me.
The past year has been so challenging for everyone, particularly the staff at Barchester Challoner House Care Home. My family and I are so grateful for the care, help, information sharing and organisation that has gone on. Mum is safe and well and I feel very confident she is getting the best of care. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind words Sue, we appreciate all the feedback we receive at Challoner House.
She has been very well looked after. Missed her family due to restricted visits because of Covid.
Thank you for your kind feedback, it is appreciated by all the staff Challoner House.
Mum was admitted at the start of lockdown for two weeks' respite and has stayed ever since! Despite a stay in hospital and the challenging circumstances, she has been well looked after and is settled. Staff are caring and have worked tirelessly to keep the home COVID-19-free. We are very grateful.
Thank you for your feedback. We always aspire to be the best in every aspect of the home but it is always good to know where we could improve to an even higher standard.
I came last month (June). My friend didn't recognise me. She thought my friend and I were her parents and we had to vacate the chairs were out in the garden as they were for her mum and dad. She is very well looked after and happy here.
Thank you for your feedback. It is appreciated by all the staff at Challoner House.
Barchester Challoner House has provided a good support system for my grandmother and she is doing so much better now. She enjoys the activities, and the home has made efforts to help families visit/call during the difficulty lockdown period.
Thank you for your kind words; we really appreciate your feedback.
My husband has been very happy here for two years now. I have always found the staff to be very helpful and kind. The general manager is very efficient and will be always ready to discuss any issues we may have.
My mother was well looked after at Challoner House. The staff couldn't have been more kind and understanding to her. She was always treated with respect and dignity, and in this, her final month, her care was outstanding despite her considerable needs. Although the staff were extremely busy they always had time to chat to my mother, and were good friends to her and me. The home is beautifully furnished, the gardens are a constant joy, and there is always a delicious choice of food at meal times. The activities team have such a good rapport with the residents, and have a wide choice of activities. Thank you to everyone.
Thank you for such kind words. Your mother will be truly missed by everyone at Challoner House. And so will you without your regular visits. If we can be of any assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.
The staff and the place we first visited made us know that when Nan comes to the care home she would be treated the way we wanted and I would like to thank the management from the bottom of my heart. Thank you.
Thank you for your kind review. Everyone at Challoner House appreciates your feedback.
When it became clear Mum wasn't looking after herself, I spoke to Challoner on the Tuesday and when I rang on the Thursday in rather a panic, they were able to accommodate her the next day. My experience of all the people who worked at Challoner was always very good. They treated Mum with care, kindness and patience which made a potentially worrying time much easier for us to cope with.
Thank you for your kind words, it was a pleasure having Mum at Challoner.
I have really enjoyed my stay here. The staff go beyond the call of duty. Nothing is too much trouble. The only negative comment I do have is there could be more handrails in the bathroom.
Thank you for your kind feedback. It is much appreciated by everyone here at Challoner House.
Caring, friendly and very attentive. My room is very comfortable. The food is very good. All my needs are met. I enjoy having my hair done every week and my nails. I also enjoy the daily activities and interacting with the other residents.
Thank you for your great feedback. It is lovely to hear you enjoy our wonderful activities!
My Dad has really enjoyed his short stay here. He has been made to feel very welcome as I have. The staff are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble. Very kind and caring. The only negative point would be not enough grab rails in the bathroom.
Thank you for your kind feedback. We are thrilled to hear your Dad enjoyed his stay!
Helped my Nan settle in very well. Cannot fault the care she has been given and the encouragement she has been given.
Thank you for your kind words and feedback. It is appreciated by all the team at Challoner.
Quite happy.
Thank you so much for taking the time to complete a Care Home UK Review, your feedback is greatly appreciated. My door is always open for us to chat.
Challoner House is a very caring home and my mother is well looked after by all the lovely staff. Meals are good and the activities are varied and happen morning and afternoon.
Thank you for your kind words and feedback. It is much appreciated by all the staff here at Challoner House.
Coffee and cakes were always available on arrival as a visitor and were much appreciated. The staff were always friendly and helpful. We moved Dad on the 9th August 2019 mainly because mum was being discharged from the hospital and they wanted to be together. The cost of Challoner House was not possible. Although the nursing home is very good we felt that they could manage to live in a care/residential house which saved them 50% of the cost at Challoner. Our aim is for mum and dad to return home soon and live out their remaining years with care at their home they have shared for 53 years.
Thank you for your review. We appreciate all your feedback at Challoner House.
Since my mother-in-law came for respite 2 weeks ago, we have noticed a great improvement in her. She is really happy and loves the place and staff. She looks better and says she feels well. The home appears to be really well managed and is spotlessly clean. When we visit all the staff are very friendly. We are hoping mum can stay here.
